12.01.2022 Tested our composite stone, matte white sample by leaving black, cyan and magenta inkjet printer ink plus full strength betadine antiseptic on for a week. It washed off 100% with the assistance of a little JIF.

08.01.2022 Matte versus Gloss finish on stone baths and basins: A few customers ask about the merits of the silky matte finish versus the traditional gloss finish. A couple of years ago the sales were evenly divided but my most popular bath only sold in gloss and my most popular basin only sold in matte. However, the sales have gradually eased round to matte - - - about 70 / 30 now. The gloss finish tends to be ordered by the more practical but design conscious customers or interior d...esigners tend to choose matte. The gloss is more easily mistaken for acrylic by those "not in the know" whereas the matte is unmistakably stone and thus looks more expensive. The gloss is no easier or harder to clean than the matte but it doesn't show fingermarks like the matte is prone to. The gloss is harder to fix if it gets a scratch or badly damaged but the matte is easier as there are fewer steps required. The matte is surprisingly easy to clean with Jif - - - black shoe marks, coffee, tea, redline, foundation make-up are no problem. The matte can be rejuvenated with 1500 / 2000 wet'n dry sandpaper and plenty of water. The gloss can be rejuvenated with car wax & light scratches can be taken out with car paint cutting compound.
