25.01.2022 Finally something good to share regarding Covid 19. If you want to know what Covid 19 really is and why not to fear it, then take your time and watch this episode. You will feel enlightened and excited about life again. https://www.youtube.com/watch
25.01.2022 This is my foster dog Marley. He’s cute as hell. His cuteness has been both his curse and his blessing in life. Marley bites. Bad. Marley was a cute puppy. He w...as treated like a stuffed toy by a young child who wasn’t supervised with him. When Marley got big enough he started to defend himself from this unintended abuse the only way a dog knows how. With his teeth. At ten months old Marley was surrendered, covered in mats because the family who bought him didn’t understand the needs of a hypoallergenic dog. By this time the damage was done. Imagine not washing your hair for months the whole time someone was dragging you around like you were a teddy bear. So what do you do with a dog that’s snappy and won’t let you get close to it? You lock it in a cage. You let your frustrations get to you and you shove him into the cage because he’s biting you while your trying to get him in there. So now he obviously has issues with the cage. Marley was sent to a training facility that deals with aggressive dogs. I have worked with some very aggressive dogs. Marley is not an aggressive dog. Marley has no trust in people because all they have ever done is wrong him. Marley is terrified to be touched the wrong way because all his life he has been shown that touch only leads to pain and hurt. They said he had no respect and that he was unfixable and unadoptable. When I first heard his story I laughed, I thought he was a poodle with an attitude. Now that I have known him a while I know better. I can see the pain and the suffering this dog has been through. The animals don’t have a voice but if you know what your looking at they will tell you their story. Marley now has a voice, mine, and I am telling his story. Marley is going to be with me quite a while so he can learn to trust people again, working at his own pace towards his recovery. Marley is well trained. He can sit, stay, come, lay down, roll over, Fetch (exceptionally good at Fetch), and high five. He is house trained. He follows the rules of the house. He walks well on a leash. Marley does not need training. Marley needs to recover. I’m writing this with Marley at my feet. A dog that was a gift to a small child. A dog that was supposed to be therapeutic. A dog that was made into a monster. So this holiday season please remember; a dog is NOT a gift. A dog is NOT the responsibility of children. A dog (any dog) is NOT to be left unattended with children. A puppy/new dog is NOT a therapy dog. A therapy dog is a therapy dog. It takes years of expensive training to turn a dog into a therapy dog. You don’t buy them from some donkey selling designer puppies out of their backyard. A dog is NOT an impulse. If you want a non shedding dog be prepared to take care of that hair. If you want a German Shepard be prepared for all the training required. If you want a Dalmatian be prepared to deal with a stubborn pain in the ass. At the beginning of this I said his cuteness was his curse and blessing in life. The curse is obvious after reading this. The blessing? If Marley looked like a Pit bull he would have been put down a long time ago. Update: I adopted this dog in March. He is now an obedience master working towards his intermediate agility, and he helps me train other broken dogs. You can follow him in his new life on Instagram @john.is.for.the.dogs
24.01.2022 To make you all smile A depressed rescue dog who had no one to play with becomes a rat's best friend. We like to see the improbable friendships tha...t can blossom between 2 unknown species. They have become inseparable despite their huge size difference. The level of trust they have with each other is mind-boggling. The owners of Osiris the dog rescued 4 week old Riff Rat. He was so small, so fragile, he hadn't even opened his eyes yet and needed to be treated with a syringe. Mouse has moreover become a therapy dog for other different animals. Osiris, himself, was in fact a rescue, he had been abandoned puppy. The two are so close that Riff the rat crawls into Osiris' mouth and cleans his teeth. SEEING THEM CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER AND HAVING THIS UNEXPECTED FRIENDSHIP GIVES ME A LITTLE HOPE FOR THE REST OF THE CREATURES ON THIS PLANET - ESPECIALLY HUMANS! Humanity can learn many lessons from such love, as dogs truly are furry angels, sent from heaven to teach us humans what real love is, and all animals feel the same emotions what we think only humans feel, especially love... #Specisism #RespectAllLife #rescuedog See more
23.01.2022 Sometimes it can be difficult to do things differently. It can be exhausting to question everything because I dont like the standard treatments. But when I get a message from an owner thanking me it is all worth it Beautiful Diesel was diagnosed by an oncologist with an MRI and Biopsy with a nasty tumour, median survival time of only 2 months max. That was Nov 2018. Today, over 12 months later, I get this beautiful message...
23.01.2022 Yes!! Casey's Beach Vet clinic, where I work part time, is now offering species appropriate raw food diet! Good health starts with a clean diet. I have been feeding and advising raw food for many years and the results speak for themselves. During the bush fires we were cut off and had no power for 2 weeks I had to feed my Kellpie x Staffy dry food and she got itchy skin, as soon as I switched back to raw, her skin came good again. I much prefer food as medicine than medicine as food
22.01.2022 Just in case someone else suffers from ion deficiency anaemia, this is a very good article.

20.01.2022 Should you clip arctic dogs or other double coated dogs to cope better in the heat? What is everyones experience? https://ownresponsibly.blogspot.com//busting-myth-of-cooli
20.01.2022 We can learn a lot from dogs
19.01.2022 This video was taken from the beach just in front of our house. The flames came up to our back fence. If the wind wouldnt have changed direction, we would have lost the house. But sadly, someone else lost their property due to the change of wind . Feeling for friends and neighbours who lost everything. And feeling sick about the burnt bush and all the poor animals . Mother Nature was hit hard. Now is the time to look forward for some massive changes! Stay safe everyone
19.01.2022 I never believed in not exercising puppies, finally there is a study to prove it.

10.01.2022 Just got this information from the Australian Veterinary Associoation. There is mould in this food, unfortunately a very common problem in dry food. https://blackhawkpetcare.com/au/black-hawk-dog-food- voluntary-product-recall-australia

09.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you are all going good besides the ups and downs lately. How about some good news. May I introduce our new edition to the family. Miki came to us as a foster puppy. He wasnt of great health, mal nourished, not eating and suffering from seizures. After removing 500 grams of worms (he only weight 2.5kg), some medication, he started to show some interest in baby formula. After a few days he would eat puppy food from my hands but only if our dog Tiger woul...d sit next to him. The seizures stopped. For the last two days Miki has been eating by himself but still needs Tiger next to him. He is getting stronger every day. So obviously we cant part with Miki anymore and he became another foster fail like our gorgeous Tiger . We officially adopted him yesterday. Miki, my little boy, may you have a long and happy life with us. Subi would have loved you. See more
08.01.2022 Cats are the best!
07.01.2022 Magic happens when you adopt a dog
07.01.2022 This is so true! People think they have to hold their hand in front of a dogs nose. A dog actually can get your smell from 2 meters away. Most dogs cope just fine with being touched, but some get scared and might bite.
05.01.2022 Fires are everywhere, it is a catastrophe . We were very very lucky to get out. My husband, two kids, Tiger and I got out with the help of a truly amazing friend who went to the next step to help us. We are safe, just hoping that everyone else in our town and surrounding towns stay safe and that our houses wont burn. Stay safe everyone and please be there any rain. Love Sonja
05.01.2022 Ok my dear friends, it seems setting up bank accounts for donations is just way to difficult. However, we are still determined to help. We have a list of people in need and working on a way to support local businesses and allow these people to buy what they need. I will also add a local wild life organisation I work with (all run by volunteers). Please stay tuned. Your support will be needed, and your donation will go 100% to people, businesses and animals.... When it is up and running please share this far and wide. Lets make a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more

03.01.2022 Guinea Pigs make great family pets, unfortunately often not enough advise on how to care for these little pigs is given out. This is a good hand out. Have a read! https://www.bsava.com//PetSavers_Guinea_Pig_Guide_2015.pdf
03.01.2022 Oh here we go ...tears... that dog truly loves his owner.
03.01.2022 Inspired??? I am
02.01.2022 I do have a soft spot for bunnies. They are so often misunderstood and unknowingly mistreated. Unfortunately not many people know how to properly care for these gorgeous animals. For a start, they like to move. Have a look at these enrichments. They are brilliant. All I would add is a mosquito net
01.01.2022 This is the sad fact in my job, I have to witness many beautiful clients loose their best 4 legged friends. And after nearly 20 years of being a vet, I still feel the pain for everyone of you. However, I know we all meet our loved ones again. They are just waiting..... Just like my Subi....
