18.01.2022 There are still some fantastic sponsorship opportunities available for the 2019 Tasmanian Palliative Care Conference. Get in quick as we are finalising these in the next few weeks. For a full sponsorship prospectus, please contact Naomi Will on 0439 336 511 or [email protected].

17.01.2022 Eventsphere managed the Tasmanian Timber Awards last night, where close to 350 of the Tasmanian Forest industry recognised excellence and celebrated the strength of the industry. A late addition to the proceedings was a photo reel of the bushfires last summer to highlight the extraordinary efforts out in by so many during a really tough time. What do you do when you cant find the right version of the song you want? Sing it yourself... at the back of the room in the dark so to not take the focus from the photos and story on the screen, of course!

13.01.2022 Its definitely Conference season. Yesterday I (Nay) made/took 69 calls, sent 232 emails (thats not including any eDMs or automatic registration confirmations, thats personal emails) and had 4 teleconferences. Adrenalin and coffee - what a combination!

13.01.2022 This summer has already been a devastating one for so many Australians, who have sadly lost not only lost their home, livelihood and communities, but for some also loved ones. The images are truly terrifying. I genuinely cannot imagine the fear and grief being experienced by so many, which of course is being augmented by the lack of empathy, action and leadership from our Government. We need to rally around these communities and people, and show them that as a nation we do ca...re. We cannot singlehandedly fix this, but together we can make a difference. So go on, make a donation to one of the many funds; the RFS, Red Cross, the Salvos, and begin popping some pennies away to support these communities when theyre in a position to open their arms again - goodness knows theyre going to need it.

12.01.2022 Its been a tough old week in events world, with the full effects of whats going on with COVID-19 yet to be fully felt. I honestly dont know what the next 6-12 months will look like, for the industry or our business. We have a robust business model though, so Im hopeful. This story is some much needed light at the moment - just beautiful.... Stay strong, and work together my industry friends.

12.01.2022 The reality of Coronavirus: 2.5 weeks ago, I had a full calendar of events and a brimming workload for 2020, a contractor working part time with me, and a flourishing business. Today, it is just me, and an empty calendar, except the weak hope of one or two small events proceeding and a smidgen of secretariat work. ... My financial security lies in my potential eligibility for the Centrelink job seeker allowance and the hope my appIication for a casual nighfill position at Woolworths is accepted, so I can continue to support my young family. Sadly, I am far from alone in this position. My plea, if you are a business that is holding up OK in this time of unprecedented challenge and has some capacity to offload any tasks to a sole trader or small business, please do. You may just be what gets us over the line. What I can offer: project management, full suite of marketing and communications (eDMs, social media, strategies, releases etc), writing, editing, database building, website creation and editing, budgets, diary management - in fact, you name your outcome and Im confident I can find a solution. Us event professionals are skilled - we are used to doing it all and at a rapid pace! If any of my contacts can help, Id love to hear from you. To my industry and business friends - we will get through this, it wont be easy or quick, and we likely wont be sitting where we are today, but we are resilient, hardworking and resourceful. Were also a big team. I hope youre all holding up OK - please reach out at any time should you need to talk things through. Naomi x

10.01.2022 The PTSD: Mental Health Matters Conference has been launched only for a couple of weeks, and registrations are coming thick and fast, reaffirming the need for an event like this. Held in Hobart on 14th Oct and Launceston on 15th Oct, the conference (hosted by WorkSafe Tasmania) will provide insight to the advancements made in traumatic stress research and the practical application of this knowledge in various workplace settings. The program brings together clinicians, researchers, practitioners and personal journeys that will deepen conference participants understanding of treatment and recovery. https://www.worksafetasmonth.com.au/ptsd-mental-health-mat/
