20.01.2022 That's lunch on day 2. Few stops for foot care from Dunja as she's collecting blisters today. Wee bit chillier than yesterday on the tops as well, but I'm sure I am entertaining and not annoying.... Just checked my phone and it's saying 16.5kms and 97 flights of stairs. https://www.mycause.com.au//230160/cape-to-cape-with-socia And we would like to thank our incredible Gold partners: * Cape to Cape Fencing * Leeuwin Tyres * AMD Lorex, Chartered Accountants * Cullen Wines * Lazarus Horticulture Services * Settlers Tavern Margaret River * Yahava KoffeeWorks & Kwik Koffee Margaret River * Zumba in Margaret River with Rita * Sunflowers Animal Farm & Farmstay * River Fresh IGA * Backyard Creations * Laurissa Knowles Ceremonies & Counselling * Pharmacy 777 Margaret River * V J Auto Repairs * The Berry Farm * Margaret River Steel Products * Margaret River Podiatry And our wonderful Silver Partners including: * Vasse Felix * @Jadestone-Floor-Cleaning-Solutions * @Celine-Lee-Photography * Carinya Bookeeping * Elechem Consulting * Margaret River Stompers
20.01.2022 So we got a bit drenched first thing but it looks lovely at the top of the hill!! https://www.mycause.com.au//230160/cape-to-cape-with-socia
19.01.2022 Not the best weather to set off in but it doesn't look like we have much of a choice without loosing valuable daytime! https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit
19.01.2022 Cape to Cape with Socially Fit Churchill - Day 2 wrap up. So yesterday we have two wishes - to reach our fundraising target and to get some more cloud cover. The cloud cover until about 2:30pm was awesome - cooler, more refreshing and significantly less draining than yesterday!!!... The terrain was also very different - although there are sandy beaches every day, and today was no exception - it was definitely more rocky, with lots of stairs and bush!! In total according to johns phone we climbed 140 flights of stairs and descended 172, and I am sure the scratches and bruises from the bushes are going to stick around for a while. And we had quite a few animal sightings as well - some whales, dolphins, a snake and the biggest kangaroo that I have ever seen!! But the icing on the cake came when the girls joined us for the last 4.5km - it was exactly what we needed to push through to Ellenbrook house! They did put our pace effects from the rest of the day to shame with just over an hour to get to the end. But despite all that we are still just a bit under our fundraising goal so please donate if you can - it doesn't matter how small - ever $1 can help the River Angels do incredible things! https://www.mycause.com.au//230160/cape-to-cape-with-socia And we would like to thank our incredible Gold partners: * Cape to Cape Fencing * Leeuwin Tyres * AMD Lorex, Chartered Accountants * Cullen Wines * Lazarus Horticulture Services * Settlers Tavern Margaret River * Yahava KoffeeWorks & Kwik Koffee Margaret River * Zumba in Margaret River with Rita * Sunflowers Animal Farm & Farmstay * River Fresh IGA * Backyard Creations * Laurissa Knowles Ceremonies & Counselling * Pharmacy 777 Margaret River * V J Auto Repairs * The Berry Farm * Margaret River Steel Products * Margaret River Podiatry And our wonderful Silver Partners including: * Vasse Felix * Jadestone-Floor-Cleaning-Solutions * Celine-Lee-Photography * Carinya Bookeeping * Elechem Consulting * Margaret River Stompers
19.01.2022 First 20 minutes, 13 flights of stairs and bloody cold but at least it's really awesome when the furthest point that you can see at the start of the day is NOT how far you have to go :) https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit
18.01.2022 A quick recharge at the The Sea Garden Cafe in more ways than one - lovely meal, some power and smiles galore - the views are absolutely breathtaking and after being told that we would have to get waist deep into the river we thought the detour would be a lot better (and in my opinion much easier on the legs although going across the bridge on Caves Road is not the most comfortable thing considering I know how people drive on there)! But more importantly - even with the detou...r we have reached and gone past the half way point!!! Such an awesome milestone to hit! Now for some lunch and then a bit of a climb to some beautiful valley views before finishing off on Redgate beach! 18.01.2022 14km and 2 beaches down. A bit of a break in Yallingup before continuing over another beach, rocks, scout lookouts and injidup beach! A lot harder this year than last - the paths are significantly more sandy and it's a lot warmer but all for a good cause! If you haven't yet please donate here:... https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit
15.01.2022 Nothing like putting a double ball vibrator between the legs followed by a bit of meat!!! (Btw the red thing is a Dual sphere power plate massager that's awesome for muscle aches :) in case anyone was wondering)
15.01.2022 The final day of the Cape to Cape with Socially Fit Churchill - Proudly supporting the River Angels was epic. With a 4am wakeup and a 6:15 start on the track it was our earliest track stat this week. Starting at Hamelin Bay, we went over the first beach without any significant dramas, and got up to the (deceiving) lighthouse in good time.. we had a bit of a backtrack from Cosy Corner so the girls could get to see it and then proceeded down to the blow holes and by far the mo...Continue reading
14.01.2022 Another one of those moments where you wish that where you see a track is not where you're heading :) but we going into the beautiful magical fairy forrest so definitely a lot to look forward to!!! https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit

12.01.2022 First day of the Cape to Cape with Socially Fit Churchill wrap up! We had a fantastic start with the girls - a sunny day, views as far as the eye can see with some incredible sightings of the whales jumping around in the water and the wildflowers are in full bloom - just incredible. We got to meet Lynda from the River Angels - a woman you can only admire for all the effort that she puts in to support the community!!! But with 22km to go there was no time to loose so onwards ...we went and although the scenery continued to be incredible the sun was absolutely relentless and the paths were significantly more sandy than what we experienced last year. I would estimate that a third of the non beach paths were just as soft as the beaches themselves! But we got to take our shoes off and cool them down in the water at injidup, And even though it was a lot harder than expected by some miracle we still kept to our estimated pace and finished at 5pm. After doing the car shuffle, stopping by Settlers Tavern for some good food and well deserved drink, and getting to meet Harriet from Yahava - we got back to the campsite. We did plan to prep for the morning - but for me (Dunja) at least fighting the effects of the sunstroke and the fatigue just wasn't workable - so we did some recovery work and then bedtime! So if there were two things that I would pray for that would make today easier they would be: 1. Getting a bit closer to the $15,000 target - we are only $870 short!!! 2. More cloud cover :) If you can please donate here: https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit And we would like to thank our incredible Gold partners: * Cape to Cape Fencing * Leeuwin Tyres * AMD Lorex, Chartered Accountants * Cullen Wines * Lazarus Horticulture Services * Settlers Tavern Margaret River * Yahava KoffeeWorks & Kwik Koffee Margaret River * Zumba in Margaret River with Rita * Sunflowers Animal Farm & Farmstay * River Fresh IGA * Backyard Creations * Laurissa Knowles Ceremonies & Counselling * Pharmacy 777 Margaret River * V J Auto Repairs * The Berry Farm * Margaret River Steel Products * Margaret River Podiatry And our wonderful Silver Partners including: * Vasse Felix * Jadestone-Floor-Cleaning-Solutions * Celine-Lee-Photography * Carinya Bookeeping * Elechem Consulting * Margaret River Stompers
11.01.2022 Our first unfavourable reptilian and we have reception so we can do this post while we wait for it to go away :)
10.01.2022 Our first view of the end point way off in the distance and our first view of the next beach stretch... Nearly 10km down, 18 to go, 10 of which will be on the sand... Hopefully we will see some more donations come through for the River Angels in the next 6 hours to give us a bit of a boost to get through this :)... https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit As we come close to the end we really cannot thank our partners enough! So a massive thank you to our incredible Gold partners: * Cape to Cape Fencing * Leeuwin Tyres * AMD Lorex, Chartered Accountants * Cullen Wines * Lazarus Horticulture Services * Settlers Tavern Margaret River * Yahava KoffeeWorks & Kwik Koffee Margaret River * Zumba in Margaret River with Rita * Sunflowers Animal Farm & Farmstay * River Fresh IGA * Backyard Creations * Laurissa Knowles Ceremonies & Counselling * Pharmacy 777 Margaret River * V J Auto Repairs * The Berry Farm * Margaret River Steel Products * Margaret River Podiatry And our wonderful Silver Partners including: * Vasse Felix * Jadestone-Floor-Cleaning-Solutions * Celine-Lee-Photography * Carinya Bookeeping * Elechem Consulting * Margaret River Stompers
09.01.2022 Gorgeous start to day 2 - 32km to go! https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit
08.01.2022 Help the River Angels bring a touch of positivity to a family affected by cancer. When there was rain coming at us that was blocking Hamelin Bay, we could think of the wet and cold that was coming or focus on the compacted sand and the distance to the end not being as daunting. But when you're in the middle of an unexpected storm with many others on the way, it's very hard to think like this. ... But a small gesture like being able to afford groceries for a week, or having even a small part of the astronomical pharmacy bills covered, getting a lift to an appointment, or a gift for a child's birthday that would have otherwise gone without... please - if there is anything you can contribute to the incredible work the River Angels do please click below. Even $5 can go a long way and all donations can be made anonymously. https://www.mycause.com.au//230160/cape-to-cape-with-socia And we would like to thank our incredible Gold partners who have already contributed so much to this goal * Cape to Cape Fencing * Leeuwin Tyres * AMD Lorex, Chartered Accountants * Cullen Wines * Lazarus Horticulture Services * Settlers Tavern Margaret River * Yahava KoffeeWorks & Kwik Koffee Margaret River * Zumba in Margaret River with Rita * Sunflowers Animal Farm & Farmstay * River Fresh IGA * Backyard Creations * Laurissa Knowles Ceremonies & Counselling * Pharmacy 777 Margaret River * V J Auto Repairs * The Berry Farm * Margaret River Steel Products * Margaret River Podiatry And our wonderful Silver Partners including: * Vasse Felix * Jadestone-Floor-Cleaning-Solutions * Celine-Lee-Photography * Carinya Bookeeping * Elechem Consulting * Margaret River Stompers
08.01.2022 This forrest never fails to amaze me - it's peace, power and breathtaking beauty are unlike anywhere else in the world and it is an absolute highlight of the hike! And if you would like to support us and the River Angels it would be fabulous to get closer to our target as we head to the hardest part - one of two longest beach stretches that we've got on this hike. https://www.mycause.com.au//230160/cape-to-cape-with-socia ... 06.01.2022 Well let's another km to an already long day... But at least we avoid a beach ... Oh but not the sandy sandy trail
03.01.2022 Day 5 - lots of mixed feelings, an early start and a big day ahead of us. And a lovely boost to have the girls join us to see the early lighthouse - the deceiving little thing that last time made us think we didn't have long at all until we got here!!! And Keira wants to be the boss of a lighthouse - but not this one cause it's too small :) let's see what they think of the one at the end! So 6km down and another 22km to go! Let's get it done!... If you would like to make a donation to the River Angels please click here: https://www.mycause.com.au//cape-to-cape-with-socially-fit
02.01.2022 Day 3 and another 26.85km under our belt for a total of 87km so far!!! Pretty happy with the pace as well considering we had a good hour at the cafe :)
