25.01.2022 How’s that for a view!

25.01.2022 First presentation for our Annerley project. Which one would you pick?

24.01.2022 We recently participated in the architectural competition for Hope Dental Center, a faith-based dental clinic, training institute, accommodation and warehouse compound in Kigali, Rwanda. Our entry didn't win (we were one of a few finalists) but we learnt a lot through the process - and will continue to try and make the world a better place, one project at a time! Watch this video to see what we came up with - and hear about the lessons we learnt along the way.... (Big shoutout to our friends Rachel and Matt - Lind & Co Architects and MVH Consulting - for participating in this competition with us!)

24.01.2022 Hi friends! At the end of another productive week, we would like to give a friendly reminder to act now if you are thinking of taking advantage of the HomeBuilder stimulus. We are looking forward to an exciting second half of 2020. Contact us to arrange a free chat about your project - in person or via Google Meet!

19.01.2022 Love this photo of our ‘boat shed’ (H House) which illustrates how we turned the house away from the street, to borrow beautiful views between our neighbours. Wow it’s green everywhere! - that comes from knowing a site and responding accordingly. - BL

19.01.2022 Meet our talented architectural graduate Georgie - she also happens to be a gifted artist with a wide following. She has travelled extensively as an artist and has been invited to teach a masterclass in New York next year. In this video she gives us an overview of her art and what inspires her! We love having her as part of our team - not only because she brings formidable skills as a creative - but together, each day, we strive collaboratively for the good of our clients. ...If this video has been helpful we would love your feedback! 19.01.2022 Friends, through these tumultuous times we are still doing what we've always done - to work and fight for a better future for our clients and our city. We are thinking of and praying for those on the frontlines, and those who have been affected far more than we have.

19.01.2022 Some things we have been cooking up recently... - This prominent Queenslander had been renovated fairly recently - but the layout didn't really work or flow. Instead of remodelling everything, the client decided to create a new outdoor dining space and alfresco kitchen among the trees. We love the idea. Our enviable subtropical climate is just about perfect - why wouldn't we want to live amongst it every day? - We just got Development Approval for this project, so we w...ill be working on the technical documentation over the next couple of months. - #brisbanearchitect #brisbanearchitecture #queenslandarchitect #queenslandarchitecture #architectlife #homedesign #designinspiration #dreamhome #architecture @ Tarragindi, Queensland, Australia See more

18.01.2022 We love our studio space! A converted warehouse in Brisbane’s West End, developed by @lucidmedia Being a shared workspace, we’ve found ourselves surrounded by many complimentary forms of creative talent. A unique environment for an architectural practice! -GK

16.01.2022 Happy Weekend! Recently Billy visited the workshop of Tov&Co and asked founder Bek Hawke to explain more about custom furniture - what's the process and lead time, how are designs customised to client request, and what happens with warranty and repairs? Bek also shares what "Tov" actually means - it's a Hebrew word loosely translated as "good", but there's so much more to it than that.

15.01.2022 Some things we have been cooking up recently... - This cute little cottage in Fairfield sits in a flood zone - so to satisfy Council, you pretty much have to live in the sky. Downstairs however, we are keeping it lightweight and using steel frames and tin lining - the idea being that if the floods return one day, things can be stripped back, cleaned and reinstated without too much hassle. How many of us Brisbanites had friends who had to let their timber framed houses dry... out for months on end in 2011? - We see many in the neighbourhood have decided to "block in" downstairs as they renovate. Not saying that's a bad idea - but during a flood, unless hydrostatic forces are balanced (ie. you let water come into the house) there is potential for serious structural damage (of course, Engineers would be able to explain this better than my basic-level understanding as an Architect). It's worth considering whether a lightweight approach may be a better solution as you build in a flood zone. After all, this is how different cultures have built vernacular housing flood plains all around the world. - In all this, we sincerely hope that this flood-construction talk is just a theoretical exercise for our city - and that we will never see the devastation of 1974/2011 again. - We look forward to seeing this one built! - #brisbanearchitect #brisbanearchitecture #queenslandarchitect #queenslandarchitecture #architectlife #homedesign #designinspiration #dreamhome #architecture @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia See more

14.01.2022 Setup before showtime. Grateful to all who came to our launch night!! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts - your support means so much to us and wouldn’t be here without all of you! We are excited for what we can bring to Tarragindi’s community, and look forward to welcoming you into our Studio. . . .... #EverArchitectureStudio #CreatingPurposefulSpace #Architecture #architecture #architects #architect #architectural #interiordesign #design #home #building #archdaily #architecturephotography #architecturalphotography #Brisbane #Queensland #Australia #architecturaldesign #archilife #Brisbanearchitecture #Queenslandarchitecture #ArchitectureQueensland #Brisbanearchitect #Brisbanearchitects #Queenslandarchitects #queenslandarchitect

13.01.2022 As Blade House nears practical completion, it is exciting to see an early concept carried through built reality - that somehow a solid brick wall would mediate the end of a long leafy driveway, through which one steps through a narrow courtyard into a new reality. This is not just architectural kitsch - but in real life, as you step into the house, it really feels like an escape into another place or dimension. The sense of restfulness and peace is what we fight and yearn for - and I’m happy to say, the house really invites its users and guests to leave their troubles at the door, and to enjoy the world beyond. - BL

13.01.2022 Happy Friday friends! Take a virtual tour through Blade House, our project on Tamborine Mountain. Beneath the design there's always a client that we strive to look after, with a deeply personal story to tell. Yes we are proud of the outcome - but to us, it's far more rewarding seeing the client's joy and satisfaction as they inhabit the spaces that we shape together. If you are thinking of renovating or building, get in touch - we'd love to have a chat, to show you how we can help.

13.01.2022 Some things we have been cooking up recently... - This little Queenslander project in Annerley has been a challenge but also a lot of fun. We are lifting and extending, but working with the existing blockwork instead of just consigning it to landfill (like so many others, downstairs was "blocked in" in a rudimentary way decades ago and not to legal height). We love that we also get to use rudimentary materials in a new way. Connection to the garden is key, but we wanted ...to create a sense of not taking the latest fads and trends too seriously - no doubt it will be a fun space for modern family living. - Like our other projects, we've also built in the capability to sub-divide into two living zones in the future. As COVID passes we feel there will be more thinking about multi-generational living or home office spaces. It's a good idea to be prepared for the future. - This is a work-in-progress, and we can't wait to see it take shape! - #brisbanearchitect #brisbanearchitecture #queenslandarchitect #queenslandarchitecture #architectlife #homedesign #designinspiration #dreamhome #architecture @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia See more

13.01.2022 Hi friends, last week we shared the exciting news that we are setting up our own shopfront in leafy Tarragindi (right next to Bruno's Cafe). As part of that process, we have also decided to rebrand our business! If you would like to find out more about why we're rebranding and our vision for the future - please feel free to have a read. As for me, I want to thank you for your continued support of the business since our humble beginnings in 2015. Even as we grow the values t...hat underpin what we do will never change - we'll always be motivated to seek the good of others, and striving to create purposeful space. - Billy

11.01.2022 We recently had the opportunity to visit H House, our project in Coolum, with our friend and photo wizard Tammy Law. So thankful for our treasured friends for the commission and for being our models too! We hope H House will be a place where the family and visitors alike will encounter joy, peace and hospitality. See more of this project at http://www.lambilly.com.au/h-house-coolum

11.01.2022 Adaptable Housing is our vision for the future. With this we are making public and tangible our desire: to help clients and families create the capacity to help others. Starting with individuals and families, we want to empower generous hospitality, build better neighbourhoods, celebrate and look after nature, and even shift our culture's understanding of what a home should be. This is not a pipe dream - it is a simple, real-world ready idea, catered to our Queensland way-of-life.

09.01.2022 Hi friends, we are excited to announce that our office in leafy Tarragindi is now open! Come find us at 4/212 Cracknell Road, Tarragindi. We love visitors and are here to be the local go-to for all things architecture, art and design.

08.01.2022 2020 \ This time last year, there were the two of us a couple of friends working out of a co-shared warehouse in West End. No one could have predicted the year to come, and like many of you we have been challenged, pushed out of our comfort zones, forced to adapt, put under stress, even left feeling mildly fearful at times. It may have been a grand old mess of a year, but in that mire we decided it would be a time to challenge ourselves to envision Adaptable Housing..., to establish our own shopfront allowing us to help more people, to grow as a team when others advocated for battening down the hatches, and just walking step-by-step with the people we serve, to fight for good outcomes of worth and meaning. For me - as much as it feels like we’ve hit a milestone in setting up our own shopfront, the greatest joy of 2020 is about people. To hear of the satisfaction of clients inhabiting the spaces that we fought for, and day to day at work, getting to come together as a like-minded, youthful and united team of creatives. As to what 2021 holds who knows? We end this year with a sense of hope about what is to come, but also a desire that whatever comes our way, we would be found faithful in our work. Happy New Year friends. - Billy There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind CS Lewis

04.01.2022 Billy hung out last week with Bek Hawke from Tov & Co, a bespoke furniture maker based in Brisbane. We used to work together in an architectural office - and now we have stepped out into new horizons in our own way! We caught up to talk about furniture and also how we deal with not meeting the stereotype of what an Architect and a furniture craftsperson should look like. If this video has been helpful we would love your feedback! Leave us a comment below or get in touch with us directly about your project.

02.01.2022 Hi friends - no doubt we're all spending more time at home these days. The good - and bad - of the spaces we inhabit are probably more obvious than ever! For those thinking about renovating or building, our architectural brief template is now available for download from our website. We also made a video guide to show you how to use it! It's all free, and we hope you will find it helpful.... https://youtu.be/4Cww0MMjLlQ See more
