08.01.2022 Our weaknesses, insecurities, fears and self-doubt make all of us want to hide. A lot of us have mastered the art of hiding. We stay away from the things of wh...ich we are afraid and at which we are not good. We are most afraid of our weaknesses being EXPOSED. When I was growing up I struggled in school - a lot! While I have learning disabilities, I found that a lot of what I had to overcome was my own laziness. In every class, the first thing I would do when I walked into the room was seek out the desk farthest from the teacher. I was hoping the further away I was, the less likely I was to be called on. As time went on, I could no longer hide in the classroom and I got exposed. When I was in the Air Force, I struggled in the water so I tried to hide out. It was easy to do when the class was big but the smaller the class got, the more individualized the attention became. I was like blood in shark-infested water and the instructors could smell my fear. Once again, I got exposed. In life, a lot of us are looking for that desk furthest from the teacher in the school of life. We are hoping that we can hide out in the back and never got called on. While that will work for a little bit, mark my word, they will call on you! Life has a great way of exposing us all. No matter how good you are at hiding, at the tricks you play to disguise your insecurities, and lying, your fears will always find you. One thing about our fears- you can’t run from them, you can’t hide from them because they always know where to find you as they know where you are hiding. One thing we all need to realize - the fear is in your mind. The fear is what we have created. If we created it, we have the antidote to destroy it!
