21.01.2022 Dance doesn't have to be staccato all the time. The variation between smooth and sharp is what makes dance interesting. Dance should never feel or look "jerky or uncomfortable". It's common now for dance schools to teach basing themselves on a mirrors reflections, rather than what is felt deep inside. At our classes you learn how to dance from within. You look good because you feel good. Here is a video of us dancing Samba as part of our kindy rhythm and music program.

07.01.2022 Daniel is his element demonstrating and discussing musicality in Bolero. Next time you get out dancing, try using the melody as your inspiration and don’t just be a slave to the rhythm. This is a great little trick to make your dance a little more dynamic and can be applied to every dance style.

06.01.2022 For some students the hardest part when learning to dance is learning to identify the rhythm to dance on, not actually mastering steps. Most people don’t have much musical training and coming to dance classes is their first exposure to terms/concepts such as rhythm, tempo, melody, beat etc... Yesterday we brought along our Zabumba to our Forró class to help students identify the strongest beat to follow and to move your body to. By playing the instrument themselves and by having Daniel play along with the music, students have a chance to associate what they see and hear with what they are suppose to feel and follow.

I would just like to challenge every single one of the 71% that voted for our profession category as top non-essential job to imagine the entire lockdown/isolation process without music, books, photographies, dance, radio, Tv, Netflix, Stan, etc. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
