25.01.2022 Hi all, After the power out this morning we have been having some technical difficulties with our phones and booking system. We can be contacted via email or Facebook but may have difficulties booking at this time. We are working on the problem and apologise for the inconvenience.

25.01.2022 Hi All! Some of you may have been watching the news with bated breath and seen that it was being reported that Allied Health (of which group exercise physiotherapy is a part of) had been reported as full service resumption. Our understanding is that this is in reference to one on one interventions. The guidance we have received is that indoor classes are still not permitted, and would be in keeping with the allowance of hydrotherapy in an indoor pool only allowing 1 on 1.... At this stage we are still technically waiting on finalised confirmation from the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA), but we expect that this will simply confirm classes not running. We will update you all here if this advice changes. On a lighter note, go Storm! Go Tigers/Cats! And congrats to Vixens!

23.01.2022 In light of the current COVID-19 situation in metropolitan Melbourne, we have once again had to make the difficult decision to temporarily stop offering group rehab classes in the interests of protecting our patients, staff and the wider community. We did not make this decision lightly as the impacts on our patients of not having access to healthcare starts to take its toll. Unfortunately with widespread community transmission we are in a different situation than we were a f...ew months ago. We are still able to offer 30mins one-on-one exercise rehab and hands-on treatment. The exercise appointments will be billed at the normal 50min group pass cost if that is a workable option for people. If you require more information, please feel to contact us to discuss. You will notice a few subtle changes to the way we work in light of the new situation. Some of these changes are as follows: - Staff will be wearing masks for our patients protection. - Patients will be required to have their temperatures taken before leaving the reception area. - As before all patients will be required to sanitise/wash their hands on entering the premises and are encouraged to do so on their way out a well. - Where possible, we ask that people come to their appointments alone unless absolutely necessary to come with a carer. - We ask that patients do not come early to appointments, and wait until their appointment time to minimise the number of people in the reception area. We do not, at this time, require patients to wear masks unless they would like to do so. We would encourage those that would like to, to consider cloth masks where appropriate to reduce shortages of surgical masks for our healthcare colleagues in acute frontline care. Because of these changes, we may have a bit more difficulty trying to accommodate exercise rehab appointments but we will endeavour to do our very best to help where we can. As a result we ask that you be patient with our reception team as they have been working tirelessly through this difficult time. We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and that this is not where any of us would like to be again, but we have every confidence in our community at large doing what needs to be done to protect each other, and to restore some semblance of normality sooner rather than later. Keep your heads up. Keep your hands washed. Keep your distance and we'll all get through this together. Lots of socially-distanced love, The team at Evolve

23.01.2022 Merry Christmas to everyone! It has been a hard year for a lot of us, and for those of us lucky to be able to see our families this Christmas feels a little like a reward for the difficulties we've had to collectively face. It can also be a really hard time for a lot of people, so just a quick reminder to check in on those who might be doing it a bit tougher this year. From inflatable Christmas tree and the rest of the team at Evolve, we hope you have a safe and peaceful day! :)

21.01.2022 Well done to all of Victoria, and Melbournites particularly, for reaching a goal a lot of us thought near impossible for a while there! Obviously without getting too complacent about the risk COVID still poses, this is an amazing day for us all! Good job, gang! In other exciting news, it looks like there may be some changes afoot for the resumption of group classes in some capacity. Possibly as early as November the 8th. We are once again seeking clarification to see how th...is applies to us before we act, and will hopefully have something public to say very shortly about this. Please be patient with us, and keep an eye out for a post sometime this week. As an aside, can we all agree that there are a few words and phrases in 2020 that we're a little over. Ours include: "clarification" and "pivot" Anyone similarly aggrieved by the English language this year?

20.01.2022 As many of you may be aware by now, we have made the difficult decision to significantly scale back the days and services that we are able to provide to our patients due to the increasing threat of COVID-19. This was not an easy decision for us to come to as we wrestled over the last four weeks as to where our responsibilities as healthcare providers lay. In fact, we had nearly decided to stand down to reduce the chance of illness amongst our patients and staff only last wee...k. After agonising over what the best course of action was, we have decided to stay open in a limited capacity to ensure that we help take pressure off our hospitals, GPs and emergency departments in managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal care. However we have decided that the risk of maintaining our group exercise classes is too high and therefore we are temporarily ceasing to offer these services. We will, however, be available for one-on-one consultations either hands-on or exercise-based. We can also offer consults to organise home exercise programmes tailored to the individual and taking into consideration the equipment available at home. For further clarification on your options, please don't hesitate to contact our reception team. Because we will only be consulting 2 to 3 days per week at this stage, there may be a longer delay in our team being able to get back to you, but if you leave a message we will reply as soon as we are able. Unfortunately, healthcare providers are at an increased risk of contracting this virus from patients due to the close quarters nature of our jobs. So we ask that if there are any questions as to your health on the day of your consult, please err on the side of caution and reschedule or cancel to keep our team safe. We understand and apologise for the disruption this may cause, but we are all in this together and we feel this is the most responsible course of action for us and the community at large. Thank you and please keep yourselves safe and healthy physically and emotionally. - The team at Evolve

19.01.2022 Once again there a lot of roadworks going on outside the studio and in Chelsea. Parking is looking limited around the studio and in the side streets. This will probably be ongoing for a while due to the level crossing removal works.

18.01.2022 After the fun of the last post, we must get back on to something serious. It has taken a while, but at the end of last week we received clarification on how allied healthcare businesses are allowed to run while we enter the next stage of restrictions on the 28th of September. We can now see people face to face:... To prevent a significant deterioration in functional independence which would result in an escalation of care needs (such as increased frequency in treatment, significant increase in pain, specialist input, or substantial increase in recovery time as a result of delayed care) For assessment and diagnostic purposes for those people whose care has been delayed during stage 4 restrictions, and where further delay likely to result in deterioration (e.g. diagnostic imaging and assessment for prescription of assistive technology) To provide essential pre-operative or post-operative elective surgery care Unfortunately we are still unable to open group exercise classes at this time. It has been indicated that group classes will be allowed to recommence at the final step. We are still offering 30min 1:1 clinical exercise sessions to those who meet the above criteria. If you are unsure whether you qualify, please get in contact with our lovely reception team who will collect information and discuss with your treating physiotherapist to determine suitability. We will have more information on our availabilities shortly as we try to manage the number of people in the clinic. Thank you to everyone for being amazingly patient as we navigate this challenging time in all of our collective lives. 11 new cases today! Carn Melbournites - we've got this!

17.01.2022 Hi everyone! Just a quick message to let you know that we are still not yet open for small groups classes, but a decision on when we will be opening these, on what days, and in what form will be reached within the next week or so. We will be announcing any updates on this page, and will endeavour to contact everyone via email or text as well to get the message out. ... In the meantime we are still open for hands-on appointments with limited availability and one-on-one exercise appointments. Thanks everyone for your support and enquiries over this tough time. And thanks everyone for doing your bit to help get us all back to some semblance of normality by following the COVID rules. - The team at Evolve

17.01.2022 Covid stage 1b vaccine rollout is nearly upon us! Starting from next Monday, the vaccine becomes available to larger numbers of people in the population. We have included a government tool to help you determine when your vaccine rollout might be, and which GP clinics in your area are administering it at the moment. https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/... If you have any concerns regarding the vaccine, or whether it is safe for you to take, please have a conversation with your appropriately trained healthcare team. Our clinical staff will be a part of the 1b rollout. Never have we been so excited to get a needle in the arm!

16.01.2022 July's classes are now open! We will still be operating at a reduced capacity to ensure we can continue to adhere to the recommended guidelines. To keep everyone safe and healthy we will be running only one class at a time with a maximum of 4 people per class except on Saturday's there will only be 3 per class.... We are looking forward to having everyone back in the studio.

16.01.2022 We're back up! Thank you to everyone for their patience while we sorted out our tech woes. Everything is presently working and we can be contacted via all of our usual mediums. We will continue praying to the technology gods to be kind to us through this period of heavy roadworks. Thank to everyone who let us know there were problems with the phone systems.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone! I'm sure that some of you may have received a call from Kellie today to either reschedule or to cancel your upcoming appointments over next week and beyond while Stage 4 lockdowns are in place. We would just like to expand upon the posts from the last few days. While we have gained clarification that you no longer require a GP referral to see us while lockdown continues, the Australian Health Practioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) emailed all physiotherapists this ...morning to firmly outline the definitions of conditions that we are allowed to see via a face to face consultation. The attached image has exactly the instructions we received. We realise and empathise with those of you who will experience a decline in their musculoskeletal wellbeing as a result of this change, but the sad reality is that Victoria is in this position as a large enough percentage of both businesses and individuals are not doing the right thing. We refuse to be one of them. We understand, like all of you, that this requires sacrifices from all of us and sometimes it doesn't feel fair. At the end of the day, we can only control our own actions and conduct to get through this so we can return to helping everyone. If your situation changes over the next 6 weeks, and you experience an acute aggravation that is significantly impairing your ability to function in a way outlined in the post, please feel free to call, and we will reassess your suitability for a face to face consultation. As always, stay safe everyone, and thank you for understanding.

14.01.2022 Happy Friday! Please be aware that there are works going on outside the studio, so you may need to allow extra time for traffic and parking.

13.01.2022 Firstly, we hope everyone is okay. I know we're all struggling a little at the moment with the restrictions, and yesterday's announcement might have felt like a bit of a kick in the guts. That being said, this hopefully puts us on a trajectory to return to some semblance of normality around the holiday period and with the warmer weather coming in! Once again we are waiting on a meeting between the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Chief Allied Health Officer on Th...ursday to, hopefully, get some clarification about what services we are able to provide to the community as soon as possible. For the moment we are still only able to see a very limited number of patients who meet very strict criteria. We empathise with those of you we have not been able to see at the minute and hope we get to see you all sooner rather than later. We will keep everyone updated again as soon as we hear anything. For those of you we haven't been able to see... have you all been doing your homework? A friendly reminder that clams, squats and walking can be done anywhere! And to be super time efficient, banded crab walks are always accessible! >:D

13.01.2022 Voila! The answers to last week's who's who! How did you fare? :D

13.01.2022 Good Afternoon Everyone and Happy Friday!!! Please see the image for our Group timetable beginning on Monday 30th of November. Thank you to everyone who contacted reception with their preferences. We have done our best to accommodate everyone as best as possible given that with restrictions we are only able to run 1 group at a time with 3 to 4 people maximum per group (these restrictions should hopefully ease further in the new year). ... So to be as fair as possible and give everyone a spot we have just given one class per person a week but in saying that we still have the waitlist available to give a second class time. Just give a call if you would like confirmation of your day and time, it may take us too long to contact everyone otherwise. Also a reminder to everyone that any cold/flu symptoms however mild to please cancel your class/appointment to protect yourself and the community. Thank you all for your continued support throughout the year and we are looking forward to seeing you all

12.01.2022 Another Evolve baby has arrived! On behalf of Nat and Troy we are incredibly excited to announce the arrival of baby Ava. Born: 19th May ... Length: 48.5cm Weight: 2.78kg Head: 32cm Both mum and baby are doing well and are completely and utterly in love. A huge congratulations from the rest of the Evolve Team and all of our patients. We cannot wait for cuddles!

11.01.2022 The team here at Evolve will be enjoying the festive season with our family and friends and will be closing over the Christmas and New Year period. Evolve will be closed from Thursday the 24th of December and will re-open on Wednesday the 6th of January at 9am. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year!

11.01.2022 Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and effectively can be tricky. There are whole departments in hospitals and education programs dedicated to teaching and reminding health care professionals how to safely use masks and other equipment. Remembering that the masks that most of us will be wearing are to protect other people from us, not us from other people. So it can be even harder when you don't have the advantage of that education and training in understand...ing the do's and don't of mask use. The diagrams below are a quick guide to wearing masks effectively and safely to protect you and others. They are sourced from the WHO and we encourage all those who are looking at wearing a mask to go through the relevant images and refresh on how to use them safely. At this point, gloves are generally not better than proper hand hygiene, so we encourage people to eschew gloves and simply focus on good hand washing and sanitising.

11.01.2022 With the newly announced move to Stage 4 restrictions in Metro Melbourne we, like everyone, are awaiting the details to see how this will impact our ability to provide services. Once again we have decisions to make regarding our responsibilities to our patients and the wider community in what are exceptional times. Once we have more clarity from the government and the DHHS about what their restrictions are, we can then make a decision as to what our course of action is in a ...pandemic situation such as this. For the meantime assume your appointments stand unless advised otherwise. We will contact everyone if this changes. We understand how challenging this next step is for a lot of us. Even though we have to be increasingly physically distant it doesn't mean we have to cut off social ties. If you're struggling, be sure to reach out to family and friends. Make sure to get outside for a walk or ride. Eat as well as you can. And try to find some time to do something you enjoy that's just for you. With ever increasing socially distanced masked and sanitised love, The team at Evolve <3

11.01.2022 Effective Wednesday 22nd July at 11.59pm it is now mandatory to wear a face covering while out in public. This can be a surgical mask, face shield, cloth mask, scarf or bandanna. Please note that any mask with a valve is not appropriate for use for virus risk reduction purposes. Evolve would request that every patient arrive wearing a suitable face covering. If you do not have a face covering on, or a known medical reason/exemption for not wearing one, we reserve the right t...o disallow access to our premises in the interests of protecting our staff and other patients. For patients undergoing exercise therapy, your treating physio will direct if it is suitable for you to remove the mask during high intensity exercises where breathing rate increases. For those patients with asthma, we ask that you please bring your reliever medication, and advise allergic asthmatics to consider using anti-allergy medication as directed by your doctor/pharmacist. If you are having trouble accessing reusable cloth masks, watch this space as we are attempting to organise something with some of our incredibly talented community members. If you are unsure about how to effectively wear a mask, see an example using the image below. Otherwise, have a chat to our physios about safe usage, or ask questions below. Stay safe and stylish. - The team at Evolve

10.01.2022 Wow, it's been a whirlwind since stage 4 was announced! The most recent update from the DHHS and the APA has removed the requirement for a GP referral to see us and has tightened the regulations over who can be seen during Stage 4 lockdown. Only those who are at risk of significant deterioration requiring increased medical intervention are able to see us under these new regulations. ... We understand that managing health, wellbeing, pain and medical conditions are essential in our normal lives, but unfortunately that must change in a pandemic situation declared a state of disaster. To try to stop the movement of people around the state, and to get us back to normal sooner rather than later, we must abide by these regulations for all of our sakes. As an additional step, to reduce the number of people crossing over in the clinic, we are reduced to only having one physio in on any given day. If you believe that you meet this definition, please contact us on (03) 9982 1040 or [email protected] to discuss your situation with our team. We may have to review your situation on the phone before we can see you. Please be patient and understanding with our superstar admin team as they work tirelessly on short notice to get everything ready. Please also understand that we are having to make some tough decisions around who can be seen under these guidelines as we need to ensure that we follow the rules to protect us all collectively. For those who we cannot see during this lockdown stage, we will see you on the other side. Keep yourselves well. Lots of physically separated, masked, now goggled, gloved and sanitised love, The team at Evolve

10.01.2022 Since things have been a bit tough for everyone recently, we thought we might share something from the baby photo vault to have a bit of fun! We have noticed that with the requirement for face masks, long hair growing ever longer in iso and goggles Bianca and Kayla are looking decidedly more twinsy than ever. But there was also a time when the twin factor was even higher... enter baby photos!... Put your McGinness knowledge to the test and see if you can tell who is who in the photo. Answers will be revealed at the start of next week! Bragging rights for those who get it right! :D

09.01.2022 It's a New Year, and we are back! If you'd like to book in for a pilates session, or see one of our incredible physio's, feel free to call us on 9982 1040 and our lovely reception staff will be there to help you out

09.01.2022 On Thursday the 10th of September we will be CLOSED due to a planned power outage. Please leave a message on 9982 1040 or send an email to. [email protected] if you need to and we will get back to you on Friday!

08.01.2022 Saturday funny... because we need and deserve it! :D And a good time for obligatory daylight saving reminder! Clocks move forward if they're not smart enough to self-adjust! Including that little one in the car that stops our hearts for about a week until we remember it's daylight saving and we're not desperately late to work.

08.01.2022 Some exciting news for us all. We will be opening classes from the 6th of July! We are not yet ready to take bookings as we set everything up ready to go, but just wanted to let everyone know since so many of you are keen to get back in to things! We will update Facebook and contact as many people as we can when we are ready to go again. Please bear with us, as it is going to be a very busy time for our wonderful admin team! To try to ensure everyone is as safe as possible, ...a few new requirements for classes will be in place: - Please wait in your car for classes, or only arrive exactly on time to ensure time for a previous class to exit. - Please ensure that you wash/sanitise your hands on entering the studio and on exiting. - Clean socks must be worn in the studio to keep everyone safe. - Classes will be run to their strict 50mins to ensure adequate time for staff to clean equipment and for the studio to be vacated before the next class. We will have some more announcements with the timetable when we have finalised more and when bookings are open and ready to go! Thank you all for your support and for how many of you have been contacting us in anticipation. We will see you all soon! - The team at Evolve

07.01.2022 Just a quick heads up to let you know we are in the process of seeking clarification to determine if and how the newly announced restrictions affect us, and whether further changes have to be made to how we do things. We expect this information to come through today at some point and will endeavour to advise everyone as soon as we know what's going on. In the meantime all appointments are slated to go ahead as intended including group classes. If this changes, then we will g...et in contact ASAP. As per last time we have to make decisions regarding what the cost to the community of us being closed is compared with the cost to the community of us staying open. Our only interest is in the health and safety of the community, and we will be making decisions purely around that. Stay safe and healthy to everyone and we will keep you all updated as soon as we know anything. - The team at Evolve

07.01.2022 Just an update to let everyone know we are still open as per last night's announcement from the PM. We are still adhering to strict protocols regarding infection control and ask that only necessary people attend their appointments at the moment. If you need someone to drop you off, may we ask that they do so at the door to eliminate unnecessary additional exposure to patients and staff. Unfortunately we must also request that small children not be brought into the clinic at t...his time. This pains us to request as we aim to support families to access healthcare, but it is now an additional necessary precaution. We will continue to keep everyone informed as best we can during these uncertain times. To those of our patients who need to self isolate or who are working from home or caring for children, try to ensure that you are getting some exercise to help manage healthcare conditions, injuries and mental health during this stressful time. Where possible try to structure your day to ensure rehabilitation via home exercises. And always remember, as long as they are a part of your programme and it is safe to do so...

07.01.2022 Hi all, Traffic is quite bad today with boom gates stuck along the Frankston line, affecting the Chelsea area. At this stage, the only one that appears to be working is the Bonbeach level crossing. Please keep this in mind as you make your way to appointments today.

06.01.2022 A message from Elycia: A little ray of sunshine in amongst all of the current craziness! We would like to announce the safe arrival of Luka into this world: Born: 13/04/2020 ... Weight: 9lbs 02oz Length: 53cm Head: 35cm We are both doing well and Theo is thrilled to be a big brother!

04.01.2022 Just a quick reminder that today is a moderate risk for thunderstorm asthma for Melbourne and higher risk in the west of the state. Hayfever sufferers be on the watch for any issues with breathing. Stay indoors where possible and take your medication. Asthma sufferers ensure you have your medication on you for all of today. If anyone experiences breathing difficulties please follow either your asthma management plan, or the asthma first aid plan below and/or contact help. W...e would advise our patients in today to make sure to bring their medication to their appointments if necessary. Stay safe everyone! - The team at Evolve

04.01.2022 Our very own Evolve Christmas Cracker!! We are opening up the bookings for January and February physio groups, so please call or send a message to secure your spot. Our timetable will still stay the same as December due to the COVID restrictions we still need to keep in place along with the extensive cleaning. ... We will be taking a break over the Christmas/New Year period, we will close on December 23rd at 9:00pm and re-open at 9:00am on Wednesday 6th of January.

03.01.2022 Happy Tuesday Everyone! We have good news here at Evolve! From December we will be recommencing groups! YAY! While this will unfortunately be at limited capacity with only 3 or 4 people per group, its a great start and we can't wait to see everyone again. Feel free to contact us with your preferences and we will try to accommodate all of you as best as possible (Kellie may or may not be accepting bribes ). Due to already being fully booked for November we will aim to group people together where possible to help with the transition to our group timetable which is still in progress (we will upload this in the coming week).

03.01.2022 Just to keep everyone informed: we are once again waiting on clarification from the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and the Department of Health and Human services (DHHS) as to how stage 4 affects us. No changes would take place before Wednesday midnight in any circumstance. Appointments remain as per usual unless otherwise advised. We will endeavour to clarify for everyone as soon as we know anything. Our hearts go out to those in the community whose businesses and jobs are impacted by these changes. <3
