We need more fathers to step up and take the parenting lead to enable women to keep pushing forward with their career despite having a family. Men have an opportunity to not only support their partners to continue to climb the ladder towards leadership positions but also spending invaluable time at home, raising their children.

These leadership skills apply to any age (including toddlers) which is why we should consider our working mothers and fathers as strong candidates for promotions. Despite their need to leave early, work from home with sick kids or start late to drop kids to school. These scenarios which may have foreseeable impacts on the business do not matter in the grand scheme of things if they hold the vital skills required to effectively lead people.
