17.01.2022 HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY? Let me say a few words to you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who also calls and surprisedly states: I can buy a cheaper dog elsewhere. I also address you; the person who just wants a pet. Not a single dog is just a dog.... Behind every pure bred dog is a BREEDER. Im using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory, I have puppies available all year type of people. When you select to buy a dog from a breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every dog; owned and also sold. This breeder will skip holidays, sleeping, laying in bed and most of their own house space as this will be turned into space for their dogs. The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart into it. Not only in puppies that are sold but also in those who get sick and die. A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in placentas and mud. Because thats what life is about: birth and death. In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to. Because it is not just a dog. 12.01.2022 PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE SHOPS Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. ... They regularly cause intestinal blockages and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. Please be safe with your dogs!

11.01.2022 Wishing all our EVs Doxies families and friends a happy and safe new year

10.01.2022 I want to share some info with you all about IVDD, some of you already know but for those that dont, my little red girl Dossie was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with IVDD at first she just looked like she had hurt her right leg, within a day she had lost all use of her back legs they were dragging behind her but she still had a little feeling, I opted for conservative treatment which is strict crate rest with acupuncture, a lot of vets will tell you to operate with costs of up to $1...0,000 and no guarantee, I have done my research and chose the conservative way because the success rate is extremely high, Dossie has had 2 acupuncture sessions (she has her 3rd next week) and is walking wobbly on her back legs, she still has a way to go but its promising and no where near invasive as surgery, please ask any questions if you like IVDD is a disease that effects the spinal cord over time, but it might not be apparent until there is a trigger. Unfortunately, a dog who appears to be completely healthy one day may take a fall or jump in such a way that a disc becomes ruptured. IVDD is a degenerative (gradual) process, but a jump or fall can damage a disc that has already been weakened by IVDD and bring on an acute phase of the disease.

02.01.2022 Cyclamens are prolific flowering plants that are popular at this time of the year for their beautiful and varied blooms that will continue through the winter mo...nths. We have had a number of enquiries as to whether they are poisonous to pets. The leaves and tubers (the part of the plant below the soil) contain irritant poisons called triterpenoid saponins, that are toxic to cats and dogs. Small ingestions cause drooling, vomiting and possibly diarrhoea that is usually self-limiting. If large amounts are eaten, especially of the tubers, more serious effects such as a dangerously irregular heart beat (arrhythmia), seizures and death could result. If your pet has ingested any part of a cyclamen or any other plant, call us on 1300 869 738 (from Australia) or 0800 869 738 (from New Zealand) for a tailored risk assessment and advice. Our service is free for all pet owners.
