18.01.2022 We've been offline for the last couple of years whilst we went up against the Kenyan government who refused to give us Non Governmental Organisation status (NGO). We still have not been given a reason. During that time we had to close the school as we were not given the operational permits required to keep it running. Thankfully - after 3 attempts at NGO registration we have made headway with our application for Society Status and Community Based Organisation (CBO) being acce...pted. All money raised in Australia remains in the bank account in Australia and with this registration we are working with the Department of Commerce and are engaging in discussions with other similar organisations on ways we can best utilise the money in Kenya/Organisations with similar vision to us in Australia. To maintain transparency with all our stakeholders - our immediate priority is looking to shut down the Australian charity. Why? Because we do not have the size to maintain an International charity. To do so would be using your hard earned donations to cover administration costs. We do not want that to happen. None of the donations from Australia have been used for the administration and legal costs incurred in Kenya. These costs have been borne by individuals who wish to remain anonymous in Kenya and Australia. To everyone who has helped in this way - thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Our initial model was to use Australia as a means of raising capital to build schools and then using funds generated from our self sustaining businesses in Kenya (Walkabout tours) to pay for the operating costs. The drought and conflict in East Africa damaged that model with tourism numbers dropping significantly meaning we could not generate funds via our walkabout tour which was sold out for half the year - this also affected our volunteer numbers which meant we had to stop teaching. Thankyou everyone for you continued support and a huge thankyou to the crew on-ground in Kenya who have worked tirelessly to get this over the line. We hope you will continue to follow us and support us on our journey to empower the Maasai of East Africa. Our new website will be up and running soon and if you have a skillset that you think can help us in Kenya - we would love to hear from you. 11.01.2022 A few years ago people would have laughed at the idea.

08.01.2022 Teachers: Very few get paid as well as they should for the amazing things they do in our society; most inspire, empower, and feed the insatiable hunger for knowledge that most growing folk have... Take a moment today to reach out to at least one teacher you know and say thank you whether it's been for you, your child, or others. Let them know you appreciate them for all they do in molding the future's greatest minds.
