20.01.2022 UPDATE on coronavirus testing Advice from Australia's Chief Medical Officer Dr Brendan Murphy and Queensland's Chief Medical Officer Dr Jeannette Young is that ...there is NO reason at the moment to test people with MILD cold or flu symptoms for coronavirus. Your doctor will consider testing if: - you have cold or flu symptoms, fever or other worrying symptoms as below AND - you have returned from overseas within 14 days OR - you have had contact with a coronavirus case You will need to be in isolation at home until results are back in 1-3 days. Your doctor may also decide to test if you have SEVERE respiratory, chest or breathing trouble (you would usually be at hospital for those) even without travel or definite contact If concerned, stay at HOME and use the PHONE. Leave the waiting room alone. You don't want to spread or catch anything! Call 13HEALTH or the medical centre. If you are having trouble breathing or chest pain, call an ambulance. Beaudesert Medical Centre staff are monitoring all important State advice.
