19.01.2022 Being a business owner is knowing that sometimes you'll be working longer hours than almost anybody you know. Whilst your friends are at the pub enjoying themselves, you are working. Being a business owner is knowing that some weeks you might not break even, let alone make a profit. Trading the comfort of employment for self employment seems like madness to some people.... So why do we do it? The reason I started my own business is because I saw that most people in life make a simple choice. A choice between time and money. People with a lot of time, don't typically have much money. Part time work, studying or unemployment doesn't pay well. People with a lot of money, don't typically have much time. The executive who gets home in time to tuck his kids into bed at night might have a big bank roll, but misses out on a lot of life's special moments. I'll never forget when I first contracted to a business owner in Perth called Greg. Not only did he have enough money for a boat, a nice car and all the trimmings, but he never once missed the chance to pick his little girl up from school. Business owners are often the ONLY people that have both TIME and MONEY. Yeah... Starting a business is hard. But get it right, and it's absolutely worth it.

19.01.2022 Sergeant Jonny Joey Jones lost his legs in combat. At a Q and A he was asked, "How do you stay so positive after losing both your legs?" He replied, "How do you stay so negative when you still have yours?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think most people KNOW what gratitude is. I think if we try, we can recall a time in our life that we FELT gratitude for someone or something going our way. I have lived most of my life knowing gratitude in the same way that most people do. HOWEVER gra...titude is not just a fleeting feeling, it can be a STATE OF MIND. Being grateful as a state of mind is one of the best ways to live. Someone once told me that our brains antibody for depression, regret and anger is gratitude. Why focus on the one single thing that's making us unhappy instead of the hundreds of reasons to smile. Just like Seargant Jones, maybe this is the key. If you work IN SALES, you have a rare opportunity to build gratitude and develop that state of mind every single day, when you interact with a customer. It's really simple... ALWAYS SAY THANK YOU! If someone says no, thank them for their time. If someone doesn't have time, thank them for letting you know up front. If someone isn't in the right situation to buy... (guess what?) thank them anyway!!! Why? NOT to 'kill them with kindness' and make them feel bad... But to make YOURSELF feel and focus on GRATITUDE instead of something negative that you can't control. Never forget how good we have it. Practice gratitude every single day and eventually, after a while, you will enter that rare state of mind kind of gratitude that only a few people ever get to really enjoy.

13.01.2022 A few snaps from our epic Christmas in July function. Thank you to all the speakers, the other companies that helped organize the event (ESM and McAleer), and especially to all our special guests from the ACT and Victoria that attended!

12.01.2022 Three questions for success 1) What do you want? 2) How badly do you want it? 3) Do you believe you can get it?... How you answer these questions will determine your chance of success.

09.01.2022 What are YOU saying to yourself? I love science! Most people have heard about the classic experiment where if you say to someone "don't drop the plate," they are actually way more likely to drop it, because they are THINKING about dropping it! What are you saying to yourself, especially when you are BY yourself?!?... There is ALWAYS going to be a negative voice inside of you that says, it's not worth it. It's too hard. It takes too much time. You're not going to get the hang of it. That same voice always tempts us to do something easier by tricking us into thinking what we want isn't worth it and seeking out other people that are happy to voice the same doubts. So this year, whether you are trying to get fit, trying to save money or trying to build a business, don't give your doubts a voice. What you say (even if it's to yourself) is POWERFUL. Drown out that nonsense by being kind to yourself! Somebody out there believes in you and what you are capable of. You need to believe in yourself as well! Go for it! Whatever it is, you started for a reason. Remember, the old cherokee tale to the young child: There are two wolves fighting inside of us. One is good. He is kind. He is motivated. He is determined. The other is evil. He is greedy. He is mean. He is lazy. "Which one wins?" the child asked. The old Cherokee looked him in the eye. "The one you feed."

08.01.2022 I believe that there are two qualities that are absolutely NECESSARY in the pursuit of GREATNESS. This is what separates the GREAT from the good. The champions from the contenders. 1) You must LOVE what you are doing. ... 2) You must be able to do it, EVEN when you DON'T feel like doing it. Ben Cousins won a brownlow medal. The highest personal accolade in Aussie rules football. Step 1 is a given. Ben LOVED footy. But what made him GREAT, was that he was able to turn up at training, or rock up to a game and get the job done, EVEN when he didn't feel like doing it. My friend Renee is a bodybuilder and she just won the IFBB Bikini pro. There's no doubt from her social media that she LOVES fitness. Step 1 is a given. But what makes her GREAT, is that she is able to rock up at a gym at 5am, or eat the lean chicken meals, EVEN when she doesn't feel like doing it. What makes someone great at sales is the same. Every good sales person loves sales. You can't be good at it and not love it. It's impossible. But if you want to be GREAT, it's about getting the job done EVEN when you don't feel like it. EVEN when you've already had a good sales week. EVEN when it's a Saturday and you would rather be at the beach with your mates. EVEN when the wind is blowing and the leads aren't showing! Greatness is about getting the job done even when you don't feel like it. That's what separates champions from contenders.

07.01.2022 On the weekend I had the absolute pleasure of presenting a short topic at the Summer Launch event on 'What Winners Have'. I'm preparation I watched hours of interviews from 4 of the greatest winners of our time: Michael Phelps, Roger Federer, Usain Bolt and LeBron James. This is what I learnt:... 1) Winners have ridiculous self confidence. When a reporter asked LeBron James if he was the best player in the NBA, LeBron said yes. In jest, the reporter told LeBron that rival, Steph Curry, had said the same thing. LeBron replied, "To compete at our level, every top player has to think they are the best." 2) Winners are more prepared. Every person that was interviewed echoed the fact that even though they were considered number 1, that they felt that they trained longer and harder than their rivals. I know plenty of athletes growing up that did the opposite. People who slacked off in training and preparation BECAUSE they knew they could get away with it. I don't know any of them who because successful. 3) Winning doesn't matter. The WILL TO WIN does. Every one of these champions said basically the same thing. It didn't matter whether they won or lost, what mattered was whether they did EVERYTHING that they could. They all believe that they want to win, more than any of their rivals. Whether you are starting out on a new venture in business, sport or life, or if you have been plugging away for a while now, take a moment to reflect and ask yourself, do you represent these 3 winning characteristics? If not, is there someone or something in your life that is affecting your confidence, preparation or will to win?!? Remember, you started this journey for a reason and you wouldn't have started it if you didn't believe in yourself. Finish what you came here to do.

05.01.2022 The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it. Rafiki to Simba, The Lion King What great advice form a cartoon! From time to time we'll have set backs. But that's no excuse to stop trying. I often ask this question at workshops, 'How many people do you know that keep on having the same learning experience over and over again, but never learn from it?' Remember it's only a learning experience if you learn from it!... - Keith Abraham

04.01.2022 The following is an excerpt from an interview with T. Max (Recognized by Times magazine as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world). " A lot of people are looking for the magic bullet sort of an answer, in a lot of things in life. Its like, Oh tell me that ONE THING I can do, and not change my life that will change my life, and of course, that’s not the way it works right?...Continue reading

01.01.2022 I remember when I first began my journey in sales. Every week, all the contractors would sit around the board room table and give our sales guarantees for the week. This was such a moment of pride for me. If I went last, I would always try to one-up what everyone else said. I wanted the director to know that I was the salesperson he could rely on to get the job done. If it was my turn to go first, I would have to carefully choose a number high enough that I didn’t think man...y people would be able to beat it. I had PRIDE in my own performance. Truth is, life is a competition. Teachers at school will tell you that winning isn’t everything, and then in the same breath tell you what grades you got. You competed to win the partner you are dating. You competed to get the job you wanted. You competed to get chosen for the team/uni/dance etc. Now in saying that, winning ISN’T everything. Because no matter what you do, you can’t always win. However, whilst winning isn’t everything, the will to win IS. That's what having pride is.
