25.01.2022 So, if your anything like me you see another friend raising money for something and you think bloody hell, not another person trying to get some coin out of me. But.... what is our future without our natural habitat. What will our childrens future look like if their environment is an urban sprawl. A mass urban spawl leading up to the great divide and beyond the divide is the agriculture to feed that population. It could start to look very bleak. We can't turn back the clock, ...we can't complain about it. I drive a car down the highway, I live in a house on land that 15 years ago was a wetland, I buy sugar and flour. It's the way it is BUT we can all make a positive difference to protect our natural environment. It's not enough to say we love the bush and not do anything to protect it. When we love something, we look after it. We nurture it. We protect it. One thing I am doing atm is The Ground Work Challenge. I am running everyday from the 16th Nov to the 16th Dec to raise money for Bush Heritage Australia. Bush Heritage Australia is an independent not for profit that buys and manages land, and partners with Aboriginal people to conserve our magnificent landscape and irreplaceable native species forever. What better excuse to get out and enjoy the bush, get back to nature and raise money to protect our bushland along the way. 20.01.2022 Squat to curtsey lunge with a knee: The lateral movement of the curtsey lunge uses the smaller glute minimus, a small triangular muscle located deep in the posterior region of the hip which can get left out with sagital movements when the larger glute max gets used more. 16.01.2022 Ahh how good are Saturday's I have a sleep in then train and by the time I get home I'm starving!! Here's a couple of tips for a super quick tasty salad... Have a good quality vinegar, olive oil and salt on hand for a dressing Keep your left over cooked veggies, even if it's a small amount to add in (I had roast spuds, broccoli & beans) Add some sweetness and crunch with blueberries, dryed fruit and nuts (added bonus on antioxidants and protein & good fats )

Everyone at training has put in % this term, I'm so happy, well done!! We are doing free trial sessions for the last week for anyone new to Excel Fitness, if you have any mates wanting to check out our classes it's the perfect time. ... We will be running outdoor training sessions on both Thursdays & Fridays of the school holidays as well.

12.01.2022 Hey, and Happy New Year. I thought I would give a run down of my past for any new followers out there. My passion for fitness started in high school were I joined basically every sports team I could, spend a lot of time playing hockey and practising taekwondo. With a love for food and nutrition I left school to become a chef which I loved for 9 years. ... I started getting into muay thai and kickboxing when I was 19 and moved from Sydney to Queensland where the sport was really taking off to train hard. I had my first 2 fights before falling in love with the sport. I saved my money working 3 jobs as a chef and training full time before moving to Thailand to train and fight for a year. I learned alot of lessons inside and outside of the ring. When I moved back to Sydney I had a NSW title fight and Australian title fight both while working 50 hours a week as a chef. It was overkill and something had to give. I made the decision to become a personal trainer and I have never looked back! For the last 11 years I have loved every minute of training my clients. Of seeing them reach their goals and improve their training and lifestyle. I have contracted out of a number of gyms in Sydney and ran my own buisness Excel Fitness Northern Beaches before moving to Pottsville 3 years ago and continued training clients one on one and group classes under Excel Fitness Northern Rivers. Being a mother of 3 I also have a big passion for training woman and helping other mothers through their postpartum journey. My qualifications include: Certificate 3 & 4 Fittness Institute Aust CrossFit level 1 Olymipic Weighting AWF Kettlebell level 2 FIA Boxing Instructor Thump Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (Dr Sarah Duvall) I have NEW openings this year for Personal Training and have a number of packages to choose from.

Next year we are adding a KickFit class to our weekly program too, so we will have the same Muay Thai session on a Wednesday PLUS a more cardio/conditioning style session on a Monday ... 12.01.2022 Did you know that oils and vinegars helps us absorb more minerals in the foods we consume? Cool right.. Pass the vinaigrette please:) Olive oil it's self is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats, has large amounts of antioxidants and strong anti inflammatory properties ... Don't get me wrong, not all oils are great for us.Oils such as corn, safflower, sunflower, soy and vegetable and products made with those oils can produce pro-inflammatory chemicals and really are not great for longevity and overall health. It can all be quite tricky to purchase a quality olive oil given the amount of blended oils and just the amount of shear varity! Have a read on the label at the back and buy local or small batch when avaiable and you will whip up a tasty AND healthy vinegarette in no time!! Happy Friday

11.01.2022 What an awesome term 3 we have had at training, thank you! It has been so great to have Leah on board taking Pilates on Thursday's. She is such an experienced teacher, and I just love her being with us, I am so glad she is staying on next term. Next term I'm super exited for Isabel to start as well taking our Zen Thai Flow class on Monday's. It will be a yoga/Qigong style class. Isabel has a wealth of knowledge I can't wait for her to share with us. It will be a great s...ession to start your week with and go in so well with our timetable. There is also the strength, low impact, HIIT, boxfit, kickboxing, and boxing sessions I (Christie) will be taking. Call me biast but I really do think this is the best timetable in the northern rivers! Focusing not only on fitness but overall health Sessions can be modified to suit Indervidual needs Please get in touch asap to book in as sessions will be limited!
