25.01.2022 3x AMRAP - Tyre flips Focusing on increasing speed this week 3 weeks out from the comp and with volume increasing, I am definitely starting to feel the pain. ... Fuelling my body with good nutrition, staying hydrated and getting plenty of sleep is imperative for recovery right now, so I am well and truly taking advantage of my rest days. Letting the body repair so I can give it my all tomorrow Dont feel like you are doing more harm than good by having a rest day when you are feeling sore and run down. It isnt always about quantity, just make sure your sessions are quality! happy hump day everyone!

24.01.2022 My passion for health and fitness has grown immensely over the past few years along with the drive to help people realise not only the physical but also the mental benefits of exercising. I personally love strength training as it is something that makes me feel strong, powerful and allows me to release a great deal of stress and anxiety. What works for me and what I enjoy isnt always going to be the same as the next person, and thats okay. My main goal is to help my clien...ts identify what they love about exercising and assist them in progressing so that they can ultimately excel in their chosen area of fitness. Therefore, I only thought the name was fitting. Welcome to Excel Strength and Conditioning

22.01.2022 The face of pure struggle. The tyre was pretty much the height of me and weighed 150kgs. Prepping with a roughly 100kg tyre made me super unsure of how Id go but I managed to get 10 flips out in the end before I literally face planted the tyre 3 times and was out. I can comfortably say I gave it all I had on the day and thats all I could ask for. . I didnt initially think I could do it and all I had to do was get in there, give it a crack and then keep pushing until I physically couldnt anymore. . Mind over matter always wins. #strengthinmind

20.01.2022 When your coach gives you a cheeky little running back slaps to gee you up for max deadlifts 90kgs is normally my 5RM but I managed to get 8 reps out on the day. Putting the 3 extra reps down to the 3 back slaps

17.01.2022 And just like that my first comp is done and dusted. A huge thank you to these two boys for all their help not only during this prep but over the past year. They have taught me everything I know about strongman and so much more and I am so damn grateful for them each and everyday. I am proud to be a part of the community you have created and watch all your hard work flourish alongside you both. If anyone hasnt found a coach yet and hasnt met these boys, youre fucking missing out. Hit them up and become a part of the family time to get ready for QSM

17.01.2022 On Thursday night my best friend conspired with my boyfriend to sneak into my house and set up this amazing surprise for me. You literally tell me everything, including how you were originally going to ask us all, then sneakily changed the plan and managed to pull it off. You have been my best friend for almost 5 years now and I am nothing but honoured and humbled that you want me to be your maid of honour. I feel utterly blessed and so grateful to have you in my life and I cant wait go on this exciting journey with you into the next chapter of your life, right by your side. Love you honey @jessmapley

14.01.2022 When people say consistency is key, they aren’t lying. It plays a massive part in being able to achieve our dreams. Now that I have found a sport that I genuinely love and enjoy competing in, I have an insane drive to be the best I can be. I know motivation will come and go along the way and consistency has always been something I’ve struggled with, but finally having something I’m passionate about makes me want to be committed. Not to anyone else but to myself. Without commitment and consistency it is just a dream. Time to make it a reality. #strengthinmind

14.01.2022 9 months ago my 1RM was 80kg. Now I’m doing it for an easy 10 reps. It has been a slow process with a lot of ups and downs but it’s so important to look back and reflect on how far you have come. Allow time to be proud of yourself for all your hard work and determination and appreciate all the little wins along the way otherwise you get lost in chasing the next dream.

03.01.2022 Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. . We all like to stay in our own bubble and do the things we are comfortable and good at because its easy and doesnt require effort or change. We are naturally creatures of habit and for the most part of our lives thats okay. It is only when we want to achieve greatness that we have to step outside our comfort zones and push further. Nothing is going to be handed to you on a silver platter, you will have to work for it and work har...d. . I went into my first strongman comp without ever setting foot in a strongman gym or using the equipment designed for the sport. I trained purely out of a commercial gym and just made things work. My anxiety was so damn high the day before comp and right before my first event. Id never used an axle bar, carried a keg, used a Saxon bar or laid hands on a duckwalk. But I said fuck it and gave it everything I had. Among other accomplishments, I ended up getting 37.5kg on the Saxon bar and I couldnt be more chuffed with myself. . Getting uncomfortable got me to find a sport I love and I wouldnt trade that for the world #strengthinmind

01.01.2022 A big shoutout to this amazing woman who is not only a client but also now a close friend. She put her heart and soul into every session and never leaves anything in the tank. A true testament that hard work and dedication pays off if you are consistent! I am so damn proud of you Ash. To see what you could achieve in a mere 8 weeks was incredible and I cant wait to be by your side cheering you on for the rest of your journey
