08.01.2022 WEEK OF EASTER | DAILY DEVOTION WEDNESDAY YOUR WILL BE DONE Matthew 26:39-42 [condensed]... ‘He went a little farther and fell on His face and prayed, O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will but as You will. .... Again, a second time, O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done. _________________ Jesus was about to face the most difficult struggle of his life: his crucifixion. He withdrew to the secluded hillside in the Garden of Gethsemane, anxious for not only his painful punishment, but the impending separation from His Father. He was in despair, agony and anguish, begging God to remove this cup of suffering. Despite this, Jesus reinforced the ultimate purpose of prayer. Prayer isn’t about bending God’s will to satisfy our wants, but to seek His will and align ourselves with His desires. Being fully God and fully man, He felt both the unbearable pain of His fate and had the power to walk away. Rather, he submitted to His Father’s will and trusted in God’s plan (John 4:32). Not my will, but Yours be done.

07.01.2022 WEEK OF EASTER | DAILY DEVOTION GOOD FRIDAY TETELESTAI IT IS FINISHED. John 19:30... When he received the drink, Jesus said, It is finished. With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. ______________________ No three words ever uttered has so changed the history and destiny of mankind. The original translation of these words - tetelestai not only means to fulfil a destined goal, but to bring it to complete perfection. Jesus’ cry is a word of finality; His work of redemption is complete. No person or thing add or take away from it. Because of this, our imperfect flesh has been accepted on the merit of Jesus. Our sins have been crucified with Christ, and we are no longer ruled by our flesh, but through Christ who lives in us (Galatians 2:20). Thank you Jesus for for your ultimate sacrifice. Easter Sunday’s victory would have been impossible without Good Friday’s surrender to death. #tetelestai
