25.01.2022 Happy Halloween From the Waitara team

24.01.2022 Today is Kathryn Day I have been thinking about who I was and what I loved to do before becoming a mum - it took me some thinking to take me back to that time...! On Thursday my little girl was whinging at me, asking me for snacks, not listening to me, dragging her brother around the floor by his ankles - the usual daily routine! I turned to her and I said - ‘you know I was Kathryn before I became mummy!’ I then went on to explain to her the things I used to do before she was around and she looked at me like I was crazy! She toddled off and I said ‘I wish I could be Kathryn again for just one day!’ My hubby must have heard because last night he came home with a bunch of flowers and told me that tomorrow is officially Kathryn Day! So today I get to do whatever I want! If you’re a mum don’t you reckon we should all have a ‘before we were a mummy day’! A whole day - at least every month - to do what we want??!!!! I’d love to know what you would do!!! Really resonated with this quote below Picklebums

19.01.2022 This week, Early childhood educators and teachers across the country will go into early learning services, preschools and schools where they will interact with children of essential workers who could be exposed to COVID-19. They will not be given face masks or protective clothing. They won't get free coffee, half price pizza or special shopping hours. ... They will perform their jobs in ways they have never done before and they will do it with a smile on their faces so that the children in their care don't know how scared they are; Scared for those children. Scared for their own. Scared of being responsible for taking the virus home to loved ones. Thank you to all Educators, Teachers and anyone else heading into an early learning centre, preschool or school this week to keep it running so that our amazing health workers and carers can take care of the sick and the vulnerable, our shops can stay open and services can continue.
