25.01.2022 We have created a brand new group to share stories about Great Ocean Road adventures and as a place for people to ask questions and get help planning their trips. Please join us!

24.01.2022 Lorne and Apollo Bay made it onto this list of fabulous Australian small Australian towns to visit.

23.01.2022 This is a really good free camping site on the Ocean Road. It is a walk-in campsite, about 200 metres from the car park area and has easy access to some great walking tracks.

22.01.2022 We spent 3 hours walking the trails at Loch Ard Gorge. Most visitors miss Mutton Bird Island and the cemetery etc.

18.01.2022 GENESIS . . . So much of surfing's origins are lost in the mists of time. Over time the Victorian surfing story has been revealed, particularly in response to a...n article written by Rod Brooks. Rod had reported how Ainsly "Sprint" Walker (Tommy Walker's nephew(Tommy is the first person documented (thus far) to surf in Australia)) was the first person to surf in Victoria, traveling by ferry from Melbourne to Portsea and surfing at the back beach. A Mrs McGillivray responded to Rod's article alerting him to the tale of Louis Whyte. Louis traveled to Hawaii in 1919 spent six months at Waikiki learning to surf before buying four surfboards from Duke Kahanamoku and returning home to surf them at Lorne and Anglesea. Frank Beaurepaire was a world class swimmer and friend of Duke (Frank was the featured swimmer at events in Melbourne Duke attended in 1915). This is the oldest footage of anyone surfing in Victoria, Louis Whyte and friends surfing at Lorne filmed by Frank Beaurepaire. This area has gone on to become a significant part of the world surfing story, this footage illustrates where the Victorian part of that story began See more

17.01.2022 Please note that Parks Victoria made the decision to close the viewing area at the 12 Apostles. The car park will remain open though. Other areas so far are still open to the public.

14.01.2022 Even a killer whale loves to holiday in Warrnambool this summer!

13.01.2022 The perfect weekend escape, Lorne. Beaches, surf, bushwalks, waterfalls and plenty of awesome cafes...

13.01.2022 Weve spent quite a lot of time in the Otways, free camping and hiking to waterfalls. Its easy to forget how busy it can be in this region when walking on some of the quieter tracks.

12.01.2022 First sighting at Logan’s Beach today. Thank you Rodney for this great shot. Rodney Harris Photography CONNECT Warrnambool Warrnambool City Council Logans Beach Whale Nursery

08.01.2022 Melba Gully walk- a lively walking track throygh the rainforest. Walk on up to the big tree..but continue after that on the loop as an incredibly impressive big tree is just around the corner. Fallen years ago.. but still a sight to see.

07.01.2022 Use the interactive maps below to view the entire length of the Surf Coast Walk and explore the key features along the way. The Surf Coast Walk is 44km from end...-to-end but it doesn't have to be done in one go. The great thing about the Walk is that it can also be split into 12 distinctive trails. Each of the trails have an identified start and end point and are usually located at a car park. Below the main map, is a link to each of the 12 trails. If you click on one of the trails, you will find a shorter interactive map plus more details of the sights and features of that particular trail. Take a browse through the various trails and decide how far you would like to go... https://www.surfcoastwalk.com.au/walks by @seeshots

06.01.2022 Some wonderful footage of the Ocean Road and other popular Victorian destinations. I love the old caravans.
