20.01.2022 HE WAS A SKATER BOI With "Schoolies" descending on Phillip Island and other parts of the state this week, Leading Senior Constable Nick from San Remo was out patrolling the beautiful Bass Coast. He "dropped in" on a surf lesson, giving a few pointers to the young novices on how it's done. He ripped up the car park for a few minutes on a surf school board, reminiscing about his youthful days on tour in the half-pipe.... The focus for police working 24/7 in this period will be on ensuring a safe environment for everyone, including school leavers, local residents and the broader community.

19.01.2022 Found a bargain online? Don’t be a tool If you think you’re getting a deal too good to be true, it probably is. The theft and reselling of tools online is a common problem for people working in trades with over 24,500 power tools stolen in Victoria last year. To assist with the recovery of stolen tools, Crime Stoppers Victoria and Victoria Police are encouraging tradies to engrave or mark tools for easy identification. The letter V followed by a Victorian Licence number is ...recommended. Cataloguing your tools including serial numbers and image can also help you keep track of your property and provide proof of ownership. If you are suspicious about the selling of cheap online tools, report online at crimestoppersvic.com.au or call 1800 333 000

16.01.2022 THIS IS WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN YOU DRINK AND DRIVE Overnight Police were called to a single vehicle collision in Newhaven. The male driver of this vehicle was lucky enough to walk away uninjured. He was however not lucky enough to avoid Police. After blowing more than three times the legal limit his licence was immediately suspended and he will face court at a later date. As his car is a write off he will also learn the hard way that insurance will not cover you if you are drink driving at the time of a collision.

10.01.2022 ITS RAINING TEDDY BEARS Our great mates at the RACV Inverloch Resort recently donated a sleuth of 'Care Bears' to Police at Wonthaggi. These Bears are given to children who through no fault of their own find themselves at the Police Station during a time of crisis. Receiving a bear can help children feel that little bit more comfortable during what would otherwise be a very distressing event. First Constable WILSON, pictured below, has chosen a new partner from the group. We want to send a big thanks to RACV Inverloch's Manger Emma and her team for providing local police with this important resource.
