22.01.2022 We are appealing for a motorist to come forward after a motorcycle crash in Laverton this afternoon. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined but police would like to speak with the driver of a black hatchback, believed to have been in the area at the time of the incident. It is understood the hatchback was missing its left-hand side mirror.

20.01.2022 Unlicensed and unacceptable. A 19-year-old woman, who has never held a drivers’ licence, has been caught in Altona travelling at 168km/h in a 60km/h zone. The Highway Patrol members were astounded to discover the Meadow Heights woman had never held a Victorian drivers’ licence and travelling at such high speed.... The driver has been charged with a variety of offences including reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous speed, unlicensed driving and handling stolen goods. This arrest forms part of Operation Compass, a road policing operation aimed at keeping the community safe on Victorian roads.

18.01.2022 Westgate Highway Patrol members who were out looking for speedsters around 11:00pm last night, have located a vehicle travelling at 110kmph (posted speed limit is 60kmph) in Pipe Road Laverton North. The 19 yo driver from Truganina, attempted to evade members by running a red traffic light and turning the headlights off before eventually seeing sense and pulled over. Leading Senior Constable JONES said "that no matter what time of night it is, police are always out to deter and catch those who blatantly break the laws. At a heightened time of day when fatigue will impact your thinking, excessive speed is not the behaviour to partake in". The vehicle was immediately impounded

With no restrictions on leaving your home under the Chief Health Officer’s directions, we are now able to have face-to-face contacts within Williamstown police station. When entering the station, you must continue to adhere to the directions by wearing a mask and physical distancing. The reception counter was previously closed as part of changes to our service delivery model to stop unnecessary face-to-face contacts and risk of transmission in line with the Chief Health Officer directions at the time. Initial dates are as follows and continue weekly or fortnightly as noted. Thursday November 19 from 10am until 1pm, weekly.... Wednesday November 25 from 6pm until 8pm, fortnightly. Thursday November 26 from 6pm until 8pm, weekly. The program will operate according to COVID-19 safety protocols. Members of the public are asked to bring their own pen for use.

09.01.2022 Here's an Easter Double Catch! A 29-year-old Tarneit male, who has never held a motorcycle licence, was caught speeding at 86 km/h in a 60 zone around the corner of Leakes Road and Derrimut Road. The offender's 25-year-old brother came by to pick him up in a car. So we did a check and found that he has been driving and has never held a licence as well. ... Both the motorcycle and the car were impounded with cost of $1006.10 each. The impounds form part of Operation Nexus, a five-day focus on keeping our community safe on the roads during the Easter long weekend. #OpNexus

04.01.2022 It is believed that over $180,000 worth of items, including bikes and cars, were stolen as a result of the offending. The Drysdale man has been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft of property, handle stolen goods and committing an indictable offence while on bail. He is expected to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court this evening.
