The colour orange represents optimism, hope and a future free from violence. $100 was also raised for OurWatch, an organisation committed to preventing violence against women and their children in Australia - https://bddy.me/2UW9VJQ.

17.01.2022 HIGHWAY PATROL REPORT HAZARD ALERT; HEADLIGHTS, DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS AND FOGLIGHTS; Do you know the difference?... Often whilst out on patrol at night, we find people who are driving without their vehicle headlights on as required. In many cases, due to the brightness of daytime running lights (DRL’s), people have mistakenly thought their headlights were on. DRL’s are a bright light that is activated during normal daytime operation and assists to make your vehicle more visible to others. At night, the DRL’s will turn off or dim when the headlights are activated. DRL’s alone do not provide sufficient illumination to drive with at night. Many new cars now have an ‘auto headlight’ system whereby your headlights will automatically turn on and off with the ignition. You should ensure that your vehicle has the correct settings before driving and check that your headlights are activated. Driving without headlights on at night is a significant safety risk. The penalty for driving at night without headlights is $248 and incurs one demerit point. Fog lights are only to be operated when it is foggy or during other hazardous weather conditions causing reduced visibility. The penalty for driving with fog lights on when not required is $165. Although some examples are depicted below, the positions of DRL's and foglights on modern vehicles can vary. If you are uncertain about the correct operation of your lights, please consult your vehicle owner manual. For further information: https://bddy.me/35ijFEg #victoriapolice #highwaypatrol
