25.01.2022 Quick look at the level on the flats, at the Wilson Inlet today...

25.01.2022 A angel ring went missing from Peaceful Bay in Denmark, last week. These are for peoples safety in case of emergencies and mucking with them could not only give you a fine, but could potentially help in tragedy! Police are investigating and penalties do apply for tampering with life saving equipment. Thanks to the member of the public for letting the shire of Denmark know it was missing.... 25.01.2022 Thought I'd share a received email from not long ago. Am proud to be in the Fishing Ambassador program. Recfishwest "I wanted to reach out to you to say a BIG THANK YOU for being part of our Safe Fishing Ambassador program.... Throughout the year I’ve been capturing your social media posts and images to use in our end of financial year reporting for the state government to demonstrate the influence recreational fishers can have on other recreational fishers when it comes to safety. As a result and as I’m sure you’ve seen, the government has committed another round of funding for the State-wide Safe Fishing Strategy over a four year period. This is a fantastic achievement. The objectives of the Safe Fishing Ambassador program is to have fishers on board that believe in what we do, have a passion for fishing and desire to help bring people home safe by promoting safe fishing practices amongst the community. As a result of the team (that’s you!) we have on board, we’re certainly seeing more awareness raised within the fishing community, language adaption, more fishers choosing to wear a lifejacket (as appose to mandatory enforcement like other states) and more people opting to fish from the beach as a much safer alternative/or choosing to do the research and equip themselves with knowledge and equipment before heading out fishing. Most importantly we’re gradually seeing a decrease in fatalities especially in the abalone fishing space. We see great value in the ambassador program and the potential it has to help bring people home safe and we look forward to working with you all again for the next financial year!" https://recfishwest.org.au/our-services/safefishing/

21.01.2022 The Local Emergency Management Committee has made the decision that no further burning permits will be issued within the Shire of Denmark at this time. We want ...to ensure that our emergency response capacity remains as strong as possible and that we do not place unnecessary strain on our services. For this reason, all designated sites for camping and cooking fires within the Shire will also be revoked. The Shire of Denmark and the Local Emergency Management Committee is working hard to support the community through this time of uncertainty and we thank all community members for their understanding and support. 20.01.2022 Always happy to see these guys pop up. Good ground.

19.01.2022 Love em. Just learned a heap about the tech behind these glasses, from an original founder of spotters, but the technology advancement continued long after he gave that away, with the passion, that only this lens genius has continued, as Tonic, and no wonder I rate them so high! Another couple pairs on their way, thanks to such a great sponsor Tonic Eyewear The Kingies better watch out :P

19.01.2022 The sound every fisher loves, and a sign for viewers, of things to come. Another vid on its way, but this is what i was playing with made for insta, before discovering audio difficulties with YT :P .

11.01.2022 Some squid, close to home. Well done to @Scott scoring his PB with a killer 35cm hood! Nice chill day too

10.01.2022 Things were very different years ago. Fab wasn't so adamant about wearing these. Now days it's a necessity. Despite whether it being a law or not, to participate in a rock fishing event with Fab Fishing & Tours, has now been a rule for several years. These ones, like the previous ones we've used over the years, were donated kindly by Recfishwest (W.A.'s peak body representing recreational fishing) for our clients FREE use.... These are manual PFD's, very light, easy to wear and use! When on the rocks, clients rarely get close to the water themselves and we take rock safety very seriously. When we choose to fish from the rocks, we always assess the risks including weather conditions, clothing, footwear, escape routes and available safety infrastructure. The fishers safety is paramount and comes before any fish! Thanks again to RFW, for all the continued support and we look forward to some pics, getting some clients in these with some fish! :)

09.01.2022 Not a good idea to venture onto our coast after particularly foul weather as beaches tend to collapse or become boggy from inundation."Öh What a Feeling !!" Yesterday ay the mouth of the Irwin Inlet.

08.01.2022 Lights Beach Update Lights Beach carpark will close for upgrades as soon as Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions announces the completion of... their works at William Bay. The aim is to finish the major earthworks component before the start of the summer holidays. The carpark will be reopened for the summer period and then closed from February 2021 until approximately April, while works are completed by local contractors. Summer provides the most favourable conditions to complete the works. Lights Beach upgrades plan to address some issues to increase safety and allow people with mobility issues to enjoy the area. Some plans include upgrades to the carpark to reduce accidents and allow for disabled parking, create better drainage to protect the environment, a new water wise ablution block and a bench to sit and view Lights Beach. The aim is to retain the natural beauty, protect the environment, increase safety and enable people of all abilities to access the viewing platform at Lights Beach. These upgrades are thanks to project specific federal funding that requires works to be completed by the end of this financial year. We understand dog lovers especially will find this difficult, please find a list of other dog friendly areas that your dog can enjoy for the time that Lights Beach is closed. https://www.denmark.wa.gov.au/dog-areas.aspx Read more here: https://www.denmark.wa.gov.au//lights-beach-project-/20705

06.01.2022 Hey peeps, finally on Youtube! :P This is my channel. Been told often over the years but it's finally done. Call me lazy for it, it's ok haha. So going with the flow, the natural progression to teach what I can to those interested on the tube! Have lots of permissible old footage on file that will be posted, along with my outings with agreed clients to come, and even just social fishing with mates, I look forward to showing with my new gopro gear and extra! :)... I cant show you everything I've done, but I can from now on show more and hopefully to be able to amaze you with some beautiful places along this great coast and if we are lucky we may just score a crazy fish or two. :) Beach or rock, fishing all my life, but editing for only days now, :P with the last few days playing with editing features and my new intro, hope you like it! haha, so let me know what kind of episodes you would like to see. Hope you enjoy, Subscribe to keep in touch with video releases and if you like, join me on my journey! Vibin lines folks! Doctor Hook Lures Recfishwest See more

05.01.2022 When you go out on an exploratory fishing camp with a couple good mates, only to find an ancient Aboriginal site used to make and chip away stone tools. Other than the walking :P, was a great fun couple days in a remote location in coastal Denmark. This piece (there were more shown), was taken to be shown to the museum of W.A. and the Albany office of Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to see if they were what we thought they were. Confirmation came back. They have ...since been returned to the site, as is the law. Awaiting more information from the departments and museum. But was an amazing find. Another camp on the cards and maybe video and pics to come. With Scott and Manna See more

04.01.2022 Short clip up. This one made, thanks to the legend Matt Emmanuel. Includes pic of client with Western Australia's biggest Yellowtail Kingfish, caught officially to this point of time and was land based. https://youtu.be/4pCeq3OL6HA

Big thanks to the messages of confidence and support in this time, made a big difference!... Looking forward to teaching anything I can. Stay safe and Tight lines! .
