06.01.2022 Salads get a bad rep, but with the correct components, salad can be something that you legitimately crave and look forward to 1 Have both cooked and raw veggies. Tomatoes and bell peppers are delish raw, but many veggies, like carrots, beets, zucchini, mushrooms, etc are SO MUCH better cooked. Taking the time to roast/grill/saute/air fry some veg really amps up the flavor of the salad. 2 Mix herbs into your greens. I dont really think anyone likes the taste of plain ka...le or spinach, but throw in some basil, cilantro, or parsley and the game is changed. 3 ADD FRUIT. This lends such a nice sweetness and makes the salad extra refreshing. Some of my faves are mango, pineapple, berries, and oranges. 4 Use an exciting protein. Grilled steak, air fried chicken, marinated tofu, seared shrimp, etc. Add steamed chicken or plain canned tuna. 5 Prepare your own dressing. You have a lot of options: salty (salt, soy sauce, etc), fatty (oil, avocado, full fat yogurt), acidic (vinegar, citrus juice), spicy (hot sauce, chili flakes), and sweet (honey, maple syrup, jam). So, just add whatever seasonings you like, blend or mix it and youre good to go!
