22.01.2022 Between February 1942 and November 1943, the north of Australia was attacked at least 111 times by Japanese Air Force and Navy aircraft. Broome, Darwin, Townsville, Wyndham, Katherine, Exmouth and Onslow were all hit, with our sole defence being the pilots of the RAAF and the gunners of our anti-aircraft batteries. Outside of the midget sub attacks in Sydney, the bombing of northern Australia is the only time that hostile military forces have been able to sustain an overt ho...stile campaign against our shores. About 350 Australian and Allied servicepersons and civilians died in these attacks, the most deadly of which was the bombing of Darwin in 1942. Today we remember those who gave their lives in defence of our nation and it's values. We also remember those who gave up the best years of their lives to fight extremes of all types, whether that be Communism or Facism, and who fought to ensure Australia remained a liberal democracy. Whilst it is important to note that we as a nation have not always acted in a way we might deem as acceptable now, what we should all be able to agree upon is the core values that our soldiers have fought and died for; freedom of thought, freedom of speech, the right to life and the right to success are the best values out there. As we move into a time where we will need to aggressively fight and stand up for these values, it is important to remember that whilst our system might not have been perfect - it's been better than any of the alternatives that have been out there, and we need to stand up to those who want to overtly or covertly attack them. So as we advance head strong into 2021, at the going down of the sun and in the morning, we need to remember them, and what they stood for. LEST WE FORGET.

14.01.2022 From his video conference suite in the North Pole's Indo-Pacific Command, Santa spoke with Falcon VFRS Captain Glass to confirm that he would once again require our assistance to spread Christmas cheer across the Falcon Fire District with a Santa Lolly Run! Whilst details of his two visits will be firmed up closer to December, Santa has asked for donations of lollies from the community to assist. He, and Falcon, would be extremely grateful for any support. Due to COVID, Santa... has politely requested wrapped lollies only. If you can be of any further assistance, please either reply to this post or message us. Further details of the lolly run will be released in early December.
09.01.2022 Santa has asked Falcon to pass on his thanks to Osinski Finance - Finance Broker who donated a significant sum to help him buy some lollies for the Falcon community. We will be updating you soon about Santa's plan, and where you can get your hands on some of these Christmas treats!
03.01.2022 For those interested in helping Falcon support Santa this year on his lolly runs, please feel free to drop off any wrapped lollies you would like to donate to the Station between 9am and 11am for the next three (3) Sundays. Timings of when the lolly runs will be taking place will be released in mid-December.
01.01.2022 Today we celebrate International Mens Day, not to exclude any others, but to celebrate the positive contribution that men make to the world, their communities and families. The focus of this year is "Better health for Men and Boys". Globally, men die six years younger than women. Three out of four suicides are men, 95% of people who die at work are men, and on average, men under 75 are twice as likely to die from preventable causes compared to women.... Therefore it is extremely important that we work with the men in our lives to make sure that they prioritise their health - both physically and mentally. More information about international men's day can be found here: https://internationalmensday.com
