25.01.2022 Its only 3 weeks to go until the first Family Support WA Awards Night in honour of International Day of People with Disability. We would like to introduce you to one of our nominees... Meet Ashley... Ashley has been nominated for one of our Excellence awards in the category of Creativity. His nomination read: "Ashley is such a focussed participant at Art Slam and is producing such amazing pieces. I also love watching how intently he studies other clients art and the t...humbs up he throws to them when he approves of what theyve created. I find his particular aesthetic is so detailed and fascinating, you could stare at one of Ashs big canvases for an hour and still not spot all of the nerd culture references hes squeezed in. Because Ash often isnt a big talker, I think he uses his artistic creativity to give us a sneak peak into what goes on inside his head." Well Done Ashley and Good Luck!

17.01.2022 Welcome news this morning that the NDIS is introducing changes which will allow NDIS participants to pay for transport out of their core funding. This means even people who receive the periodic transport payments can top up their transport funding using core funds. (This assumes of course that you have enough funds in core ... )... This change is ONLY for transport to and from community based activities and will be introduced on March 1. An updated price guide will be released in the next few weeks with line items and amounts. Unfortunately there isnt a lot of detail available yet on the NDIS website. We have a bunch of questions we are trying to get answers to - we will bring you more as soon as we have it. This is a link to the information now on the ndis website: https://www.ndis.gov.au//4318-delivering-ndis-plan-flexibi If you would like to read the media release here is a link. https://ministers.dss.gov.au/media-releases/5471

13.01.2022 Our CONNECT group had a fun, messy day in the sunshine making sustainable, tie-dyed fabric gift bags for the festive season What a great way to be creative and keep some of that shiny wrapping paper out of landfill - These bags can be used afterwards as grocery bags or even library bags! The group’s support staff were so impressed with the finished results that many of them even asked to purchase bags from the group for their own gifting use. That gave us the bright idea of possibly selling these next Christmas as a fundraiser - Let us know in the comments if that’s something you would be interested in and we can work on making them throughout the year

11.01.2022 Such a blast at our Spooky themed SKLUBB (Social club ) this afternoon! Scary cupcake competition (won by Jayden!), pumpkin piñata smashing and of course scary face paint!

01.01.2022 Due to a number of people reporting individuals trying to sell on the FREE TICKETS to the Festival on the Farm Landsdale Farm, we will be checking your actuals and identification on entry. We are a not for profit organisation who are not profiting from this event, it is done purely for the community and with the support of City of Wanneroo. Please do not buy these tickets, if someone doesn't want them they should pass them on for free. It is disappointing to hear of people trying to gain money from our generosity. We look forward to seeing ticket holders at the event. :)

01.01.2022 A fantastic way to give back to people in need at Christmas time
