25.01.2022 I'm not sure about some of your points Mr minister, Freedom of speech? I got punished because of my advocacy and speaking up against detention regime for 8 yrs by being handcuffed and placed in high security compound in BITA. Equal opportunities? I have never seen that in past 8 yrs since I have arrived in Australia.... The rule of law? Could be interpreted as international law as well? What the refugee convention say about asylum seekers and refugees? Keep them in closed detention indefinitely? How can I understand about "mutual respect" while I have been pushed back, abandoned, labelled as criminal, paedophile, murderer? Is that a kinda respect Mr minister?Peter Dutton https://www.facebook.com/552968198133394/posts/3360880350675484/

20.01.2022 No matter who you are or what circumstances you'll be singled as "trouble maker" if you speak up against the cruelty of Australian government towards refugees. I accepted the consequences when I started my advocacy. Regardless of what you have put me through I'm not going to give up so BRING IT ON! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156954376296844&id=362258071843

12.01.2022 Refugee Action Coalition MEDIA RELEASE MEDIVAC REFUGEES HOLD STAY-IN PROTEST OVER INDEFINITE DETENTION... Over 30 refugees, almost half of those being held at the Mantra Hotel in Melbourne, are in their sixth day of a stay-in protest over their continued detention and worsening conditions. Since last Friday, the refugees are refusing to leave their rooms boycotting all activities, and gym facilities. The refugees are protesting over being indefinitely detained since they were brought from PNG for medical treatment under the Medivac law. In a group complaint letter, signed by 34 refugees (see attached), sent on 2 November, the refugees say, It’s almost 18 months we [have been] detained here and we have not received proper treatment.we [were] mostly brought here for mental issues [but] we feel even worse since we came to Australia. Serco only responded to the complaint letter, more than three weeks later, yesterday 25 November. The stay-in protest came after news that 10 refugees and asylum seekers brought from Nauru on 4 September have been released into community detention after two months detention in Australia, while refugees transferred under medivac legislation, are still in closed detention after more than 18 months. Tensions are increasing across the government’s detention regime, fuelled by the discriminatory treatment of refugees brought to Australia under the now-repealed Medivac laws. Protests continue, both inside and outside, the Mantra Hotel, Preston, every weekday at 5pm; and at 3pm on the weekend. Constant noise from renovations at the Mantra hotel are adding to the intolerable conditions. Despite attempts by Border Force attempts to stamp out protests at the Kangaroo Point, protests also continue at that hotel-prison, with rush-hour protests outside the hotel every Monday and Wednesday, starting at 4.30pm. Inside Brisbane’s detention centre, Somali refugee, Saif Ali , staged a protest over his continued detention, and Border Force’s refusal to allow him to visit his wife who was having surgery in Brisbane yesterday (Wed 25 November). Major Free the Refugees rallies are being held as part of the #TimeForAHome campaign on 12 December in Sydney and Melbourne and 13 December in Brisbane. 11.01.2022 I know Armin since 5 months ago during my time in BITA, a nice passionate guy who stands up for justice. He deserves much better and to be treat with dignity. Right now I'm in Villawood where I see a lot of similar cases like him and encourage everyone to speak up. Let everyone know what's going on in detentions and how humans are being treated. This is wrong to the bone. Please support him. I'm with you all the way Bro. #Detention https://www.facebook.com/groups/106908392834476/permalink/1691312727727360/

01.01.2022 "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" This is to humbly inform you that after 8 years I'm finally getting free. I've been given a chance to rebuild my life in the United States of America. ... Thanks for this opportunity and I will not let you down US. I consider you as my homeland and try my best to bring something good to that beautiful country. You have given me a second chance which was deliberately ignored by Australian government for so long! I will not rest for even a day to create a better future for humanity, that's my obligation. Let me take this opportunity to send my warmest appreciation to those who fought for my freedom in past 8 years. Especially beautiful Brisbane and the main core of Refugee Solidarity Meanjin who dedicated their lives to bring justice to our situation. Dane, Ruby, Matt, Sam, Jarrah, Laura, Sophie, Zoe, Elise, Al, Cal, Reeshan and Ola you know how you're amazing. Of course lovely Ian Rintoul and Craig Foster. Also I send my thanks to different organizations out there that fight tirelessly for refugees such as @ASRC, @RACs, @HRLS, @NJP and the rest. Thanks @Samira Karimi for this beautiful video.
