23.01.2022 Hunter Mitchell from South Africa is visting Australia to receive the Visionary Wildlife Warrior Award from the Steve Irwin Foundation, in recognition of his work raising funds for South Africas rhinos. He stopped by our school to share his story with us. Wish he could have stayed and enrolled! He fitted in so well.

10.01.2022 At primary school, the children do more group work together and their social relationships became much more important. We had a local fire brigade visit to talk to us not just about fire safety but about working as part of team. We discussed that being a good team member means that you need to be honest, be considerate of your team mates, to be kind, to listen and follow instructions.

There's a fun program planned that includes handling authentic Aboriginal artefects and bush tucker cooking, science experiments, designing your own clothes and gymnastics. 09.01.2022 It's Allergy Awareness Week this week and one of our Mum's came to speak to the children at our North Head campus. The children were very curious and had great questions. It's important to for us all to be allergy aware.

07.01.2022 Teaching children about care of the environment is an important part of the Montessori classroom. As part of an educational sustainability project with Manly Environment Centre, our primary children been working on the sculpture of a turtle for the Manly Arts Festival. The piece is made entirely from recycled materials.

06.01.2022 We have appointed a new principal! Gavin McCormack is joining us from Inner Sydney Montessori School in Balmain. He's passionate about Montessori, children and learning. We are incredibly excited about this next stage of growth in our school. Come and meet Gavin on one of our school tours next year.

05.01.2022 We've been exploring the layers of the earth in the primary school. We've made plasticine models showing the core, mantel crust and hydrosphere. There is much excitement when they see the layers when they cut across their models. Their natural curiosity leads them to investigating space next.

05.01.2022 The children have been very excited to be involved with Mothers Day preparations. It is another way children learn about their world and the festivals and celebrations that make it so diverse.

05.01.2022 Our Outdoor classroom this week has been exploring how water and oil separate when mixed together. By adding food colouring to it, the children see how the experiment works by using their hands to move the colour around the sensory bag. It's fascinating watching their reactions as they see the outcome of this experiment. The garden is receiving a makeover with new varieties of vegetables being harvested. We welcome the children bringing in packets of seeds at any time! Quick growing vegies or herbs are the best for our little gardeners.

04.01.2022 Welcome to all our new families joining Farmhouse this year at our North Balgowlah pre-primary and North Head primary campuses. We are super excited to announce the opening of our second classroom at North Head. Thanks to our hardworking educators and parents for creating such a beautiful learning space.

02.01.2022 Join Tank the Turtle to be part of the beach party this Clean Up Australia Day, Sunday, 4 March. A great event to get the children involved to help keep our beautiful beaches clean.

02.01.2022 The Kindergarten class continue with a variety of learning, challenging themselves with new work individually and within group settings. Recently they've been covering Music, Literacy and Geography. The children continue to build and develop their investigation and problem solving skills along with social and communication skills with their peers.
