24.01.2022 Another great day of football for 11 of our current and former Fast Start Woewodin Squad members. They played today for their Sacred Heart Year 10 school team and won the Division 1 ACC Eagles Cup. Well done to Lachie Macrae, Ethan Barbieri, Ashton Waters, Zac Sadowski, Daniel Gathercole, Riley Murphy, Joel Bayntun, Tait Saunders, Dom Saunders, Tom Caiacob and Nick Emes. 22.01.2022 The count down is on to this weeks first session of the 3 session trial with only a few spots left .......so please make contact now to reserve a place. Following a few questions on the preseason series next year I thought I would provide a bit more detail to help those still making up their mind. The sessions will be on Friday late afternoons instead of Saturdays to allow for other sport activities.... Dates in 2021 will be: Fridays - February 5,12,19 (Feb 26 no session - long weekend) then March 5,12,19,26. Looking at this stage at a 4.45pm start finishing 6.15pm. Hopefully this helps a few deciding if they can fit this in their busy schedules.

Before "breaking ankles" with slick moves videos became popular in the NBA, check out Shane's moves in this clip....even if it was the Crows ruckman Clarke he puts on his backside with the move.....and note the kick finish!

17.01.2022 REGISTER YOUR INTEREST NOW 3 Session trial series for Fast Start on Saturdays 31 October, 14 November, 28 November 2020. Open to all Boys born 2006 & 2007 targeting WAFL Development Squad participation in 2021. From the trials a squad of 25 will be invited to complete 7 sessions in the 2021 Pre-season. Some spots may be made available to 2005 boys born depending on numbers.... Specifically designed to help prepare boys trialling for WAFL Futures Squads. Carine location. Our Fast Start formula for training is effective and has seen Boys from our squad be members of successful WAFL Futures Teams, won MVP awards in their games and been selected in WAFL State Teams.

FAST START RECOMMENCEMENT TOMORROW HAS HAD TO BE POSTPONED - due to oval now unavailable When things go wrong they just keep going wrong. ... First the oval is withdrawn for use so we have to postpone our restart scheduled for tomorrow and now due to a major police incident, just around the corner, the power has been turned off for 18,000 homes in our area. 15.01.2022 Great session planned this Saturday. Strength & Conditioning follow up session with Subiaco Futures fitness guru James McKee. This will be followed by a Masterclass with Josh Leunig Subiaco Colts Defensive coach. Josh is a former Carine junior and was Fullback in the Subiaco Colts Premiership in 2018. Elite level drills so bring your thinking caps and your A grade effort.

15.01.2022 Green Light for our Restart! Fantastic news that our New venue has been approved for us to complete the final 3 sessions of our Fast Start Preseason Series for the Woewodin Squad. Sunday 7 June, 14 June, 21 June 10am - 11.30am Robin Park (Reserve), Parnell Avenue, Sorrento.... Updates to Stage 3 from the WA Government will allow us to also have up to 100 in full contact training which is just perfect for us to complete our programme. Having a daytime session is also a far better option enabling a full 90 minutes without the issue of fading light. So excited to say we are back and ready to go!

13.01.2022 Awesome display of modern Junior Football by this talented group today. The current Preseason squad was joined by some of our 2019 squad and put on a great display in a match simulation exhibition. In perfect conditions the quality of the game was outstanding given this was the first serious hit out for all of them all in the unusual start we are having to this season. After a quick photo to celebrate the completion of our stop start series the group followed all protocols and were quickly on their way. They should all be congratulated in the way they have embraced the restrictions and guidelines to be able to train. Massive thanks to Shane Wowoedin for his amazing support of this concept to deliver elite level coaching and education to our aspiring young talent in our area.

13.01.2022 Fast Start Futures Preparation Training Series starts tomorrow Saturday 1 August 2020. So excited to see the progress the boys can make in 7 weeks as they prepare for trials. The photo is the final Coaches address to the 2020 Subiaco Futures Team, prior to their final game against Swans. Subiaco finished 6 from 6 in their shortened series due to CoVid-19 as a result of the significant improvement they made as a team and as individuals in their game skills. Most significant ...was the improvement in their fitness and physical capability to play the game. Looking forward to helping our group in their quest to be there next year.

13.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! Congratulations to Zac Sadowski, Luker Kentfield & Toby McDonald who have been in the Fast Start Programme on their selection in the extended 2020 U16 WA AFL Squad. They will now go into a training series ahead of some internal games. Unfortunately the CoVid-19 border controls have resulted in the National Carnival being cancelled this year. We wish them well in their talent pathway development.... They are pictured last night at the presentation night for the Subiaco Futures Team of 2020, who went through their modified season due to CoVid winning all 6 games in an outstanding result. More rewards last night for Zac being named as the MVP for Subiaco over the 6 games.

13.01.2022 A great list of strong cultural attributes for any athlete in any team. Pat Summitt is one of the most successful coaches in US College Basketball history and regularly developed great players .................... but always great teams.

12.01.2022 The new plan is to complete the 3 remaining Fast Start sessions for the Woewodin Squad on 3 consecutive Sundays in June. 7, 14, 21 June 10am - 11.30am. Local venue to be confirmed - stay tuned and clear your schedule. 3 high intensity sessions and so much better in daylight and get a full 90 mins. This will be the perfect way to get ready for the Junior Community Season that looks likely for a mid/late July start.

10.01.2022 Great to finally resume our training series today. Unfortunately we managed to find the rain and chill for the full 90 minutes and soon after the sun was back out.....go figure? Hopefully they all got warm and dry once they got home. Well done to the group for their efforts today and now we focus on a high intensity session next Sunday to get ready for the final week and the exhibition game on 21 June.

07.01.2022 Tonight’s last scheduled session was outstanding. A real sign that this group have really absorbed so much of the advice and education from guest coaches Beau McDonald and Ash McGrath. The progression for the boys over the past 6 weeks has been great to see. To catch up on the missed session at the start of this series due to the unplanned lockdown there will be an extra session for the group next Thursday. Venue to be confirmed.

05.01.2022 Fantastic Zoom Meeting with Nathan Bassett and Shane Woewodin this week for the Squad members. Thanks to PickStar for making Nathan available to help provide some motivation for the boys in this tricky time without football. His current AFL coaching experience as an Assistant with Port Adelaide was great to tap into. Key message from Nathan and Shane was that this should be seen as an opportunity. An opportunity to keep at it, maintain your skills and fitness for the return ...whenever that may be. The highlight was the Ruck/midfield connection work with former Brisbane dual premiership Ruckman Beau McDonald. We are so lucky to have AFL elite experience available to our local boys.

03.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS!! Brisbane Lions dual premiership player Beau McDonald is joining us for the next 4 Fast Start Futures preparation sessions. Beau was part of the All Powerful Brisbane Lions under Coach Leigh Mathews when they won 3 premierships in a row and is now a key part of the AFLW programme in WA. He is a highly regarded Ruck and Midfield coach and someone who knows all about the WA talent pathway in AFL, it will be a great opportunity for the squad to learn from one of the best.

Currently the Carlton AFLW Coach and a former Hawthorn midfielder. After a stellar Junior playing career that saw him Captain Victoria and win the Larke Medal as B&F at the National Under 18's carnival "Harf" was pick 8 in the 1994 Draft. He is now also works in the media including radio in Melbourne. Hear from Dan what it takes at Junior Development level to be the best.
