25.01.2022 Congratulations to 16 year old Daniel McEwan winning a great Silver medal at the QLD State Titles. This former National and State Champion is slowly working his way back to the top after taking a break from track when younger. Daniel ran a 3 second PB snatching Silver with a time of 1:56 flat and another national qualifier. We have some of the best 800 runners in Australia in our club and Daniel is certainly one of them. Well done.

25.01.2022 13 year old Taylor GoodWIN has already qualified for nationals in the 800 mtrs, but after a cracking run tonight at Sheldon he went a full 10 seconds under the national qualifier in the 1500mtrs running a head turning 4:30 flat. Coach Watkins thinks Taylor can go even faster given there is still 8 weeks to go until nationals putting Taylor right in the national medal hunt. Taylor will join many others from Fast Track at the Australian Junior Championships in Sydney in March.

25.01.2022 Athletics Australia has just announce that National Cross Country will not be going ahead this year due to Covid however we must still congratulate our talented Cross Country runners who made nationals. Most of the following runners were going to compete at their first National Cross Country. 11 year old Eamon Byrne made his first QLD team as did 12 year old Sophie Webb, 13 year olds Taylor Goodwin and Layla Eriksen-Howard have now made nationals for both track and Cross Coun...try this year and been robbed of the opportunity to compete at both events due to Covid :( keep working hard your time will come. David pearce made the U20 team as did Jayden Taylor in the Multi Class, well done for making the QLD team even though you will not get the opportunity to represent your State, we are still proud of your efforts. The QLD Championships for track is about 5 weeks away, keep working hard everyone. See more

19.01.2022 Little Athletics State Titles cancelled and now Australian Junior Athletics Championships cancelled ages U14-U18 due to Coronavirus fears, To all those that qualified and worked so hard this is a major disappointment, and many parents will also undoubtedly lose money due to the late timing of this decision by AA and QLAA. QA have stated they will refund all team levis, and the $30 per event entry cost for nationals, but we also suggest you request a refund of QLD team uniform... orders as they will not be needed this year, And by next year most kids would of outgrown them (or may not qualify to compete) 1 year is a long time to hold a 1 event uniform. Coronavirus is deadly to some who catch it so we fully understand the need to slow the spread so medical services can stay ahead of it. Many more major events will undoubtedly get cancelled in the coming months, unfortunately this will be the new "normal" but hopefully not for too long. Stay safe everyone.

19.01.2022 The gold medals just keep on coming, Jayden Taylor smashing a PB in the U18 800 Ambulant race, well done.

18.01.2022 Jackson Pope has Silver in the U20 multiclass 100mtrs, well done.

18.01.2022 Two Bronze medals in the U18 and U20 400 mtrs, Daniel Briese suffering from a virus still managed a podium finish, and Daniel Blest motored home after a slow start but would have gained great experience for nationals in the coming weeks.

18.01.2022 Well done Sakura Savelieva winning her first State medal at her first appearance in the 400mtrs at the state titles today, Sakura smashed her PB almost breaking a minute to nail down the Bronze medal, more results soon

17.01.2022 Daniel Blest keeps the avalanche of medals coming at the QLD Champs winning Gold in the U20 200mtrs with a new PB 21.5

17.01.2022 Eli Tuia has won the Gold medal in the U18 high jump, and Jackson pope picked up Silver in the U20 200 mtrs multiclass as did Jayden Taylor in the U18 200mtrs multiclass, Oliver Britz ran a nice top 5 placing and new PB in the Under 20 200mtrs, and Arie Van Kerkwyk finished top 8 in QLD in the U14 200mtrs. Austin gunning finished top 7 in the U17, 100mtrs, More great results tomorrow.

17.01.2022 A big welcome to our newest club members as pictured from top left Locky, Isaac, Emma, Emily, Sophy, Seraya, and Roel. It has been a tough year for clubs but we have still managed to easily smash through the 100 members barrier. With the recent easing of restriction in QLD it is only a matter of time before competitions start up again so keep training hard. We have two new young coaches (Tom Dauncey and Chey Bartorillo) getting their coaching accreditation on the 27th of July which will only keep us strong for the future.

17.01.2022 Athletics Australia and QA just announced they will be hosting State and National Allschools competitions this year. This is great news and means Athletes will have some major competition to work towards in 2020. The dates and locations are yet to be advised so keep working hard (see the link below for more info)

16.01.2022 Daniel McEwan snared a hard fought Silver medal in the U18 800 mtrs with a national qualifier 1:56

16.01.2022 How is everyone doing maintaining their fitness? At present you are still allowed to go out and exercise, just not in groups lager than 2 unless from the same household. In depressing times like this it is easy to feel defeated, it is easy to just give up and watch TV at home. But why let a thing you cannot even see wreck your dreams. We all know why we must stay at home as much as possible, but nothing can stop you from pursuing your athletics dreams. You just need commitmen...t, and desire. Decades ago it was very common for Olympians to train on their own and many of them won Gold medals this way. Ask your coach for a training program and then follow it as best you can. These bad times will pass and one thing that is for sure, the Athletes that win nationals next year will be the absolute best of the best because they never gave up on their dreams. Take brothers Andrew And Eamon Byrne in the video below for example, they are both State Level, and Andrew won his first QA State medal in February earning him a place on the QLD team for the Australian Junior Championships in Sydney. Andrew was so proud and excited yet like so many others coronavirus robbed him of the opportunity to compete. Did he quit ? No, in fact he is already preparing for next year, doing core work with his brother on his lounge room floor is just part of his routine now. You just have to ADAPT to this new normal for a little while. You are not alone, thousands of sportspeople around the world are in the same boat. Dont quit on yourself the only thing that can beat you is your mindset. See more

16.01.2022 Tyson Morris is now a state medalist after taking out Bronze in the U16 400 with a 52 flat and national Qualifier, Georgia Grimsey finished top 5 in QLD in the U16 2klm Steeple with a national qualifier, David Pearce placed top 6 in his U20 3klm steeple with a national qualifier. And Jayde Howard also placed top 6 in QLD in the U17 2klm steeple. So many national qualifiers tonight which is great.

15.01.2022 2020 is drawing to a close and sadly so does the presence of one of our top junior coaches Emily Hancock. Emily has almost finished university so now must fully focus on her career in Law. Emily has done an amazing job looking after the very youngest of our development programs. Emily somehow managed to coach all through year 12, while still an athlete herself, still managed to achieve top year 12 results at John Paul College, and somehow juggled coaching while pursuing a Law... degree. Her organisational skills and reliability are honestly second to none. An outstanding young coach who took many of her young athletes all the way to State medals. Emily will be sorely missed in 2021. Emily is handing over the coaching reigns to John Paul College student Jayde Howard, Jayde has the same passion for working with our younger ones so this squad will be sure to continue to get great results. Pictured below is Emily receiving a parting gift (engraved watch) surrounded by some of our junior squad athletes. See more

14.01.2022 Last night 14 year old Georgia Grimsey qualified for her first ever Australian Junior Championships next month in Sydney, Georgia smashed out a 20 second PB to run 7:47 for the grueling 2000mtr steeplechase a full 13 seconds under the national qualifyer. Given it is only Georgias second time doing the event it is a huge achievement. Coach Watkins has had many national champions in steeplechase will this be his next one ?

13.01.2022 Tyson Morris has smashed his PB in the U16 100 mtrs taking out the Silver medal in 11.15 seconds, huge improvement.

13.01.2022 Well done to State 1500 Champion Taylor Goodwin who smashed the GPS Cross country today running 10:16 for 3km on a hilly course at Limestone Park. Club Member David Pearce also ran a Creditable 13th in the opens.

09.01.2022 More medals from the QLD championships with Tyson Morris adding to his medal tally with Gold in the U16 200 mtrs and Austin Gunning winning his first State Medal in the U17 200 mtrs, both boys smashed their personal best.

09.01.2022 We are sad to announce that Fast Track Athletics has closed all squad training as of yesterday. Social separation in a training squad is very difficult and we in no way wish to contribute to the spread of this deadly virus. We feel it would be unethical to continue and parents have better things to focus on right now than sport. Not just Athletics but all sports will soon be cancelled probably for the rest of this year. We encourage athletes to seek online coaching from their... coaches and to train at home alone where possible even if that just means going for a solo bush run every couple of days. Please isolate yourself as much as possible, and wear a mask/gloves wash hands often when around numbers of people. Stay safe everyone enjoy the extra time you will get with your family and thank you for supporting Fast Track Athletics, we will be back in operation when appropriate. See more

07.01.2022 Registrations with Fast Track Athletics for the new 20/21 season are now open. The base registration membership is only being offered for the time being as QA do not know how many competitions there will be this season. Click the link below to renew an existing registration or join as a new member. You will need to renew your registration in order to compete at the QLD Championships next month. https://www.revolutionise.com.au/fasttrackath/registration/

07.01.2022 As of Noon tomorrow outdoor community sports can now have groups of 20 involved in training, this is great news and this early lifting of restrictions is a reward for the great job QLD has done in containing Covid19, Logically it also follows that school sports may now go ahead later in the year so there is no reason not to train hard. Go get it !

07.01.2022 Our 400 runners blitzed some medals at the QLD championships. Dan Blest won gold in the U20 400 with a new personal Best 48 flat, 15 yr old Tyson Morris smashed his PB with a 50 second 400 and Silver medal, Jackson Pope took out Gold in the U20 multiclass 400 as did Jayden Taylor in the U18 multiclass 400, Daniel McEwan was unlucky not to medal after smashing out a 49 second 400 in the U18’s, and Locky Moody also smashed his PB with a 55 second 400 in the U16’s, and Andrew Burns also with a PB 58 sec 400 in the U14’s.

06.01.2022 One of our up and coming superstars got a mention in the courier mail this week, Like many others Tyson was robbed of his chance to represent QLD At the Australian Juniors in March due to the shutdown. But to be a multiple State medallist and national level Athlete in your first year is not common. Now restrictions are lifting Tyson is already back training with his squad and has his eyes set on making his debut at Next years March Nationals.

06.01.2022 Congratulations on our latest batch of new young Coaches all finishing their level 1 Accreditation St Peters College on the weekend. For Tom Dauncey, Elanoa North, Jayde Howard and Chey Bartorillo this is just the first step, and we look forward to watching them all progress into adulthood and gain the skills and knowledge to strengthen our clubs coaching team. (Pictured with course presenters)

05.01.2022 Just a quick recap of what some of our athletes get upto both at comps and training (video credit to athlete David Pearce). Thank you to all members for making Fast Track so successfull in 2019. Have a safe and Merry Christmas, see you in 2020.

04.01.2022 Bailey Burns snared himself a national qualifier and Bronze medal in the U14 100mtrs with training partner Arie vankirkwyk placing 4 th in QLD in the same race, Jackson Pope won Gold in the U20 100 ambulant, and Jayden Taylor continued on his Gold medal splurge taking out the U18 100 ambulant race.

04.01.2022 Was good to see so many turn up to the first Cross Country series race on Sunday. Pictured below are Siblings Emily, Amelia and Sophy Webb who all joined fast track this year and ran well. Amelia won the U8 girls 1000mtrs easily breaking 5 minutes, Eloise Nealon won the U10 girls 1000mtrs running a fast 3:40, Thomas Nealon placed 4th in the U12 2000mtrs running 8 minutes flat, Sophy Webb ran third in the U14 3000mtrs running 12:27, and Layla Erickson Howard placed top 6 in the same race. kade Diers-Hahn placed a great third in the U14 boys 3000mtrs running 12 minutes flat, and Georgia Grimsey is returning to great form placing third in the U16 4000mtrs running 16:46, Emily Webb placed 4th in the same race. Our club placed third overall even though we only had 8 athletes in attendance which is awesome.

03.01.2022 Oliver Brits has won the U20 long jump at the QLD champs with a new PB 6.7mtrs, we’ll done Oliver.

03.01.2022 17 year old Daniel Blest only joined Fast Track less than 2 months ago and attended his first State Titles last week. Daniel only got into the final when another runner pulled out and he certainly made the most of the opportunity snatching a cheeky Bronze medal and national qualifier. Daniel also narrowly missed a medal when placed 4th in the 400 mtrs after missing the start due to being a long way from the speaker in lane 8 and not hearing the gun. Coach Watkins was very impressed how this up and comer conducted himself when under pressure and predicts big things to come. Well done young man. race video below.

03.01.2022 Well done Chey Bartorillo on completing his level 2 coaching accreditation on the weekend, pictured with course presenter Anthony Drinkwater-Newman and former Fast Track club member Alex Roberts, world junior representative and Australian champion for javelin. If you need a top throws coach contact Alexandra Roberts

03.01.2022 Our U18 girls picked up a nice Bronze medal at the QLD State relay championships on the weekend, Given 3 of the girls are still only 14 it was a top effort, they were close in the 4x100 as well. Well done Annie, Zymeka, Paris and Elanoa.

02.01.2022 Good luck to all athletes competing at this weeks QLD Junior Championships, please be aware of the QA rules posted below, a timetable is also available on the link below, Who will win the first medal for our club ? http://database.gojaro.com/documents/FinalTimetable.pdf

01.01.2022 Things are really heating up in the lead up to the QLD club championships and Nationals in Sydney next month, 17 year Daniel Blest who only joined Fast Track Athletics and Coach Watkins stable 6 months ago, ran a blistering 48.5 in windy conditions on Saturday night, 16 year old Daniel Briese ran a 50.1PB in the same race, and newcomer 15 year old Tyson Morris nailed down a national qualifier with a 52.6 in his race. David Pearce easily qualified for nationals again in his first 3000m steeple race for the year and newcomer Wyatt Hobbs wasnt far off the State Qualifier at his first attempt at the 84cm 2000 steeplechase. Click the link below to see the two Daniels run their 400mtrs.
