20.01.2022 The National Masters Road Cycling Champs are now done and dusted, leaving a total of 6 medals in the sweaty hands of our Fast Twitch athletes. Pete Ritchie defended his 2015 title by taking GOLD in the M7 Time Trial. Current World Champ John Horsburgh claimed bronze in the road race and silver in the TT.... Kevin Goodman scored in all three events with silver medals in both the road race and criterium and a bronze in the TT. Carting all three medals around on his training rides now qualifies as strength endurance work! Well done guys, exceptional results!

19.01.2022 Peter Ritchie fist pumping his way to victory at the RoadNats - MARS 2017 Cycling Australia Road National C'ships! Winner of the 60-64 age group, Pete also claimed the KOM up Mt Buninyong with a time faster than ORICA-SCOTT pro Annemiek van Vleuten. Pure class!

18.01.2022 Peter Ritchie of Manly Warringah Cycling Club, Gold Medalist in both Road Race AND Time Trial at the Cycling NSW Masters Road Champs. The highlight was certainly his solo win in the Road Race off the back of a blistering attack that Philippe Gilbert himself would have been proud of! "Your cunning plan worked. Thanks very much for the advice yesterday. It's exactly how it worked out!" - Peter Ritchie... Well done Pete, tremendous effort.

18.01.2022 Kevin Goodman (60-64 Men)- 20th of 72 in road race. As the NSW Masters criterium champion and medalist in both road race and time trial events, Kevin is a major threat in any race he enters. Able to win on the climbs, from a bunch sprint or a breakaway, Kevin's diverse skill set makes him an extremely dangerous rider. His preparation for the World Championships involved a stint of altitude training in the mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah. ... Representing Manly Warringah Cycling Club, Kevin hails from the town of Young in south west NSW. Certainly proof that they breed 'em tough out in the country!

17.01.2022 Peter Ritchie (L) and Neil Matthews (R). Peter Ritchie (60-64 Men)- 8th of 72 in road race and 8th in time trial. Pete is another athlete who has had a remarkable recovery from injury in time for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. A training crash at the start of the season resulted in broken ribs, collarbone and nerve damage. ... One of the most accomplished masters cyclists in the country, Pete has claimed NSW championship titles in the road race, time trial, criterium and hill climb and is the current Australian time trial champion. Neil Matthews (60-64 Men)- 27th of 72 in road race and 14th in time trial. An incredible talent with a huge engine, Neil is also a bronze medalist on the track in the 2000m individual pursuit at the NSW Championships. He has also dabbled in triathlon, claiming the bronze medal in the NSW Duathlon Championships with a lightning quick run to go with his powerful bike ride. Successfully balancing road, track and triathlon training with a demanding work schedule, family life and several charity commitments, Neil is 'The Professor' when it comes to time management. Well done gents!

16.01.2022 Roseville College pre-season cross country kicked off today. Looking forward to a big 2017 with these legends!

14.01.2022 John Horsburgh (70+ Men)- BRONZE medal in road race and GOLD medal in time trial. Our new World Champion!!! A favourite son of Turramurra Cyclery and regular presence on all Peloton Sports bunch rides, John prepared for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships with a training block in the mountains of Italy, France and Spain. In one particular Spanish race, La Ruta Minera, John received possibly the best compliment I have ever heard from a local Catalan cyclist:... Una puta màquina aquest senyor... 70 tacos i donant relleus a fuego! Google translate at your own risk, but certainly describes what a powerful rider and deserving winner John is. Congratulations!

13.01.2022 William McLaren (45-49 Men)- 53rd of 181 in road race. Having had knee surgery less than three months ago, Will McLaren did not have the ideal preparation for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. Affectionately known as the 'Sheriff' for his ability to dish out punishment and enforce his own brand of harsh justice on the peloton, Will's remarkable recovery is a testament to his strict discipline and adherence to the training process.... Congratulations Sheriff, not only for your performance on the day, but also the classy way in which you prepared for the event. As tough as they come!

12.01.2022 Huge congratulations to John Horsburgh, finalist in the 2016 Cycling Australia Cyclist of the Year awards! Nominated for the Masters Male Road category, John will be rubbing shoulders with fellow world class athletes such as Anna Meares and Richie Porte at the awards ceremony. Well deserved John. Plenty of very proud supporters here at Fast Twitch as well as Peloton Sports and Cycling NSW.

11.01.2022 Fantastic day out with the Northern Sydney Cycling Club coaching clinic powered by Fast Twitch. Plenty of laughs and the odd grimace as we worked on climbing techniques, sprint trains and echelons. Well done to all who participated!

10.01.2022 "An athlete not only trains with his body. He trains with his mind." Bon Anniversaire Hicham El Guerrouj! Dual Olympic gold medalist and world record holder over 1500m and the mile, Hicham began running at 15 years of age after his mother, sick of washing the stains out of his soccer uniform, encouraged him to find a cleaner sport!

09.01.2022 Amy's Gran Fondo update... 100% strike rate as all Fast Twitch athletes qualify for the 2017 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Albi, France! Special mention to recently crowned world time trial champion John Horsburgh for taking another gold medal in the 70+ Men category, and Manly Warringah Cycling Club mates Peter Ritchie and Kevin Goodman for claiming silver and bronze respectively in their 60-65 Men category. Fast Twitch trophy cabinet now officially bursting at the seams! Well done fellas.

06.01.2022 National Masters time trial champion Peter Ritchie deep in the pain cave on Stage 3 of the Tour of Bright! An accomplished chrono specialist, Pete transformed himself into a genuine climber and tour contender with some key adjustments to his training regime and a strict but sensible nutrition plan. The hard work paid off as Pete finished 2nd overall on GC. Big congratulations and great to see a strategy executed so well.
