21.01.2022 So you want to know about soil? Our first one day soil workshop was a joy: a joy to talk soil and connect and learn with all sorts of good people with different sized veg patches. So Nadia and Sadie (along with @goodlife_permaculture) are running a second Super Soil Skills for Happy Vegies. If you want to know what happens in the world beneath your feet and how that makes your garden grow then this is for you. March 27 on Fat Pig Farm. Book via the link in our profile. #growyourownfood #discovertasmania

18.01.2022 We're going north!!! Of Tasmania that is. We spend a lot of time banging on about land management (did someone mention soil?) and ecosystems and we're not the only ones. So, thanks to Tamar NRM, Matthew and Sadie are going to Launceston to talk about Farms as Ecosystems. Well mostly Matthew, but Sadie probably won't be able to sit quietly. It's this Wednesday. That's in two days time!! So if you're based in the north of the state do come and say G'day and join the conversation on Wednesday night. You'll need to book, so I'll find a link and pop it below.

17.01.2022 We just hit Send on the newsletter: check your inboxes for a recipe for rose geranium shortbread. (And lots of farm news)

17.01.2022 Check your inboxes! Sadie has hit he SEND button on the November newsletter (Matthew was too busy eating raspberries - they've just started and aren't really quite sweet yet. Two more weeks I reckon)

05.01.2022 It's the school holidays! If you're looking for something to do we're running two family farm tours on Friday, October 9. It's a lovely low key way to see the farm, share a home grown snack and a chat. There's a link to book under the Learn More button, but I'll also pop one down below.

03.01.2022 Ahoy! (Every day is talk like a pirate day when you talk about boats.) We’re off down the river on the Yukon this Saturday and a cancellation means we have two spare seats. Link in our profile if you’d like to join us.

01.01.2022 Farms as ecosystems. We are going to Launceston tomorrow (Wednesday) to talk about building/facilitating biodiversity. Great topic! Thanks Tamar NRM. There are two events. An on farm walk and talk in the afternoon and an evening chat. I’ll pop the link in our profile. We’d love to see you there.

01.01.2022 Last summer’s flint corn. We dry the corn over winter ready for spring feasts. We mill it in the morning and slow cook it into polenta: finished with butter, a sprinkling of cheese and sautéed spring garlic. If you’re free this Friday we’ll be serving it as part of the Friday Feast. #tassiestyle #tasmania #homemade #homegrown
