25.01.2022 Would you like to borrow Tools in Fawkner? In partnership with the Brunswick Tool Library, residents in the north of Moreland will be able to reserve tools online and have them delivered to Fawkner Food Bowls in 2021. Starting late January, pickups and returns will occur each Sunday morning from the garden. You also get to access the Brunswick site on Wednesdays and Saturdays. https://www.brunswicktoollibrary.org/gift-a-membership... Why not gift a membership for Christmas or browse their selection of tools? See more

25.01.2022 Well, someone’s very popular!

22.01.2022 There’s still time to get your orders in for Wednesday pick-up. We have more green garlic and white onions this week, as well as greens, herbs and pretty things.

20.01.2022 Look what we’re doing! With our partners Fawkner Commons and CERES we’re bringing organic tomatoes, basil, corn, and zucchinis to Fawkner. Order through Fawkner Commons for pick up Wednesday or Sunday. Order link in the comments.

18.01.2022 Now, look; I know I share pictures of alliums fairly regularly, but look at how pretty they are! Mini leeks, big leeks, onions, green garlic, garlic scapes. Beauties all.

18.01.2022 More garlic available from these legends who’ll be working in partnership with us in 2021 to deliver the Pop Up Garlic Farmers project. Purchase through Fawkner Commons before 8am Monday, and think about joining the program, learning to grow organic garlic here in Fawkner with Farmer Incubator.

16.01.2022 Under the heading, Community I’m so proud of our people, and honoured to be associated with all of you.

14.01.2022 Tonight’s takeaway is truly special. Three locals come together to prepare elements from three countries. Pay what you feel. Halal and vegan. 4.30-6pm

14.01.2022 Look who’s here! Green garlic (uncured, freshly picked) and white onions. We’re leaving some stem on because they’re tasty too

12.01.2022 Amazing work from our amazing community

09.01.2022 As you could probably guess, we’re big fans of urban food production. Here are some great examples of how it’s being done, and why it’s important.

08.01.2022 Thanks to Moreland City Council and the Working for Victoria team for helping trim our Lorne st hedge. It had gotten a little out of control since Clarice Mutton herself stood in this first picture, among the new plantings, to open the third green. As you’ll see below, very out of control. Wander by and check out their handiwork. We’re getting ready to welcome you back!

07.01.2022 Happy solstice everyone

06.01.2022 Dolmas tomorrow. Come down to Fawkner Bowling Club for Humpday Takeaway. You can BYO containers and pay what you feel. Again Sarah and Camilia will be cooking up a storm. 4.30-6pm.

01.01.2022 Tomorrow's dinner is sorted with Lentil and Veggie soup prepared by local legend Jeanette de Foe. Packed with over 20 tasty ingredients. Pay by donation to our food relief fund from outside Fawkner Bowling Club. 4.30-6pm

01.01.2022 World Food Day Today! Here in Fawkner, The Community Grocer makes affordable veggie boxes available to the community through Fawkner Commons - our repurposed bowling clubroom operating as a food distribution hub. With the huge pressure on food relief agencies, local residents are raising money to ensure these $20 fresh boxes can be available free to those most in need across our municipality. CIS Moreland are assisting with intake and Council is providing delivery. Volunteer...s pack the boxes and Fawkner Food Bowls tops up boxes with greens from our market garden onsite. Finally, Inner North Foundation provides a grant for eggs and milk so that a $20 donation can actually provide a couple's food needs for a week. $30 feeds a family. If you have capacity to donate a box, today is World Food Day. You could make a difference. #morefood4moreland #fawknercommons #worldfoodday https://food-boxes-for-moreland.raisely.com/ See more
