24.01.2022 EDIT - IM UP TO MY QUOTA NOW SO I WILL SIT DOWN AND WORK IT ALL OUT Hey there Hope you are well? What a crazy few months it has been!! ... I am looking at getting back in the pool for term 4 which will start on the 5th October. At this stage I will be working on reduced hours so will be taking names down from anyone that is interested in coming back for some lessons. I will only be working two days a week also so if you could let me know your preferred days I will sit down and work out what days has the most interest. If you could let me know either way please that would be awesome and then I can get planning. Thank you Faye x
23.01.2022 Hey guys Hope you are all keeping well? Just to let everyone know that lessons won’t start back again until Tuesday the 6th October as the 5th is a public holiday. See you all in the pool soon, I’m so excited to see all my old students and meet all the new ones
22.01.2022 It’s been so lovely to be back in the pool and back where I belong Great to see smiley faces and the children enjoying themselves again in the water. It’s amazing how my students have retained their knowledge and skills throughout this weird year! Just goes to show that when kids listen and learn hard work pays off, private tuition is the way forward
22.01.2022 Day two not so great.... weather gods are not on my side
20.01.2022 Morning all, as you may be aware there is a lot of gastro bugs going around the local pre schools and schools at the moment. If your child is sick or showing gastro like symptoms please don’t come to swimming. It means if I get sick I have to cancel lessons again and that then has a knock on affect to all my students so please do the right thing and keep bugs and sicknesses at home
19.01.2022 Hey guys, Messages have all been sent out now - if I haven’t heard back from you please get in touch ASAP as space is very limited and I have customers waiting for a spot on my Waitlist. Enjoy your day Faye

14.01.2022 Swimming lessons should NOT be primarily focused on stroke technique or swimming the perfect strokes but to educate broader water survival competency skills! All children should learn how to get back to the surface from under water, propel themselves at least 10-15 m and get safely out of the water. Far to often I have kids come to me from other swim schools and the parent says to me we just need to work on freestyle side breathing and my question is would you feel co...nfident if they fell in they could save themselves and the answer is NO I automatically struggle to comprehend how this has even happened!! Surely I would want my kid to save themselves over Swimming beautiful freestyle! I use lots of different teaching methods during my lessons using various techniques and scenarios to simulate real life situations. Kids learn through play and sometimes they won’t even realise they are learning a new skill as I incorporate fun into the activity. My aim and goals as a mature swimming instructor is to ensure I have done my best job at teaching your baby, toddler or child to stay safe and respect the water so if the inevitable happened I would feel confident I have done my job and they can get back to safety. Once this has been achieved on a consistent level then yes I will move onto glides, rockets, perfect kicks and arms etc but primarily safety is key and the rest will naturally follow. So if your looking for a teacher to teach the 4 basic strokes straight up ( when they can’t even float or get back to the side ) then I’m not the place to come, however if you want your kids to learn, love and stay safe in the water then you have come to the right place! I will teach strokes and stroke correct when it is needed and not before! My older students will tell you my stroke technique is tough as being a swimmer competitively for 15 years and teaching for over 25 years has made me learn and teach the correct way! Stay safe guys and I’ll see you next time. X
13.01.2022 How is everyone going? All keeping well I hope? Please keep talking to your little ones about me and tell them that Miss Faye says hi and that I miss them heaps
12.01.2022 Before we can safely submerge a baby underwater we must ensure they have been conditioned. Conditioning teaches baby to hold their breath on our verbal cue. This will ensure their first underwater experience is safe and free of trauma. We condition the baby by gently pouring water over their face after our trigger words "123 under ". Once baby shows positive signs to conditioning we can then give them their first underwater experience outside of the womb. Each child will beco...me ready in their own time. Positive signs of conditioning include, being happy and confident with water on the face, closing their eyes on your trigger words and observing them take a breath on your trigger words. Once parents are comfortable with the conditioning technique they should practice this every night at bath time. Did you know research shows an 88% decrease in drowning risk for kids 1-4 who take formal swim lessons? Swimming makes kids smarter! Swimming teaches discipline! Swimming teaches resilience! Swimming teaches goal setting! Jade Grant Swimming is the best sport for kids!
10.01.2022 It’s time to get down to the nitty gritty and get our youngsters safe and loving the water
10.01.2022 Swimming is cancelled this afternoon I’m afraid this weather is a shocker! 32kms winds and isolated storms... I understand this is so frustrating, it is just as frustrating for me as it is you guys however your kids safety is my highest priority and I wouldn’t risk anything to put your child in danger. Thank you for understanding
09.01.2022 To ensure everyone stays safe please follow the below guidelines. If you are feeling unwell, or someone in your family is unwell please stay at home and get tested. Please follow all covid safe guidelines When you arrive please sanitise your hands well and social distance where possible. Thank you
08.01.2022 Let’s hope it’s not much longer until I can get my little beauts back in the pool and continue to teach them life saving skills and learn to swim! I honestly just can’t wait! I miss them all so much
08.01.2022 Good afternoon Due to cancelled lessons because of this weather I will be providing make up lessons next week for a few hours on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Times and space will be limited so first in best dress. I have tried to message everyone that has been effected but if you did not get one then my apologies. Afternoon spots I’m unable to make up at this stage I’m afraid but possible in a couple of weeks time so if your interested in a couple of lessons next week please get in touch ASAP and I’ll see how I can help. Sorry once again for any inconvenience caused it’s just never worth the risk of lightening and storms in a swimming pool
06.01.2022 As the evenings are getting a bit darker earlier and the temperature is slowly getting cooler let’s make bath time a time to have a play, enjoy the water and explore! Try making that bath time routine exciting... use cups, rubber ducks, soft cars etc to create that fun place to relax. Let your minds run wild your kids will love it!
04.01.2022 Sorry I have had to call the shot today to cancel lessons as the storm prediction and rain is just too bad. It’s that time of year again I’m afraid which is so frustrating for me and my gorgeous customers but totally out of my control - sorry guys

04.01.2022 Evening all, hope you are well. Trying to update my Facebook page a little bit during these low times and wandered if any of my customers would be able to take a moment to write a review for me please on my page? This just ensures I am up to date as much as I can be xx
03.01.2022 Morning all, I Hope you are well and staying warm through these colder evenings and early mornings. I have still no idea when swimming lessons can recommence but at this stage it looks like it will be sometime in July. ( stage 3 ) This for me hits smack bang in the middle of winter and with temps dropping so low at the moment it’s impossible to keep my pool to the required temp 5 days a week ( and not financially beneficial ) so when I do start up again my schedule wi...ll be very tight and only over a couple of days To give you an idea the pool temp is currently 17 degrees in the middle of the day and I have to heat it to 32 degrees to make sure all of my customers have a safe and comfortable learning experience. So, I think it would logic for me to try and open up the swim school in term 3 - October - December but of course that’s just provisionally as I have no idea what could change between now and then. I understand that this has been so hard for families with work being affected etc and your dear little ones feeling the pressure and anxiety of this new way of living, so I am hoping from the bottom of my heart that we can get through this quick enough and get my gorgeous chirpy students back into the pool and doing what they love the most... having fun whilst learning to stay safe and learn to swim. Big warm hugs are sent to each and everyone of you. I miss you all so very much
03.01.2022 So that’s a wrap for this year... thank you so much to my gorgeous customers, it’s been a tough year but we made it. Unfortunately I just don’t have enough interest for any lessons during the holidays so I won’t be doing anymore until the New Year. If you are looking at coming back next year please just let me know as I’ll have limited spots available due to lots of changes with kids going big school etc. and I’m only working a few hours per week now. Merry Xmas and take care and stay safe

03.01.2022 Once all this craziness has passed I am hoping to get back in the full swing of lessons ... below are just a couple of reasons why Swimming is so important Prevent Drownings... One of the biggest reasons to put your children in swimming lessons is to prevent drownings. Swimming Is a Lifelong Skill Like riding a bike, once children know how to swim, they will retain that skill for the rest of their lives. Kids who learn how to swim grow up to be adults who can swim. It is easier to learn how to swim as a child for the same reason that it is easier for children to learn a foreign language compared to an adult. By putting your children in swimming lessons, you are giving them a gift that will last for their entire lives. And I would love to continue to be part of that journey
03.01.2022 This is a shocker.... report from Royal Life saving Australia for Children Please make sure you keep an eye on your precious little ones 100% of the time and don’t let distractions run the risk of this happening to you. This is why it is imperative that if your child falls in the pool they have the ability to get themselves back to the side by themselves so they are back at safe hands! Even a great idea to practice this fully clothed as the experience wearing clothes when in... the pool is totally different to bathers and realistically the chances of your child falling in a pool fully clothed is very high 12 children aged 0 to 4 years lost their lives to drowning in 2019/20. This represents a 37% decrease on the previous year and a 52% decrease compared with the 10-year average. Most of these deaths occurred in swimming pools and 75% of them were due to unintentional falls into water. Almost all drowning deaths in children aged 0 to 4 years are due to a lack of, or lapse in, adult supervision. Royal Life Saving research has found that household chores, such as hanging the washing out, checking on dinner or taking the rubbish out, are the number one cause of distraction.
01.01.2022 Such sad news, let’s get our little ones back in the pool, staying safe and learning safety skills in the water.
