25.01.2022 G'day. I'm Adam and I've noticed a lot of people have been either losing their minds that we are not helping farmers, and we just wasted $150 million on space ...exploration to Mars. SO READ THIS. I have done some ringing around today and at "average Joe blow" prices to run a 450mm industrial poly pipe 600km from the western end of the Brisbane river to St George is $105 million. The cost of joining the pipe (20m lengths) is $6.2 million (includes labour). A 450mm pipe can move up to 45,000 litres of water a minute depending on how hard you want to run pumps. So for $112 million, + earthworks, + trucking the pipe + about 10 pumping stations, we could refill the Murray Darling system again. If a dam was built in St George, it could then be a holding station to pump out of to other rural communities, to fill Lake Eyre, creating a place for natural evaporation. (N.B. The pipe has a max 100m head, so it would take at least 7 pipe stations to pump it over the Great Dividing Range.) 17.01.2022 Canberra Cup Praga had 4 entries out of the 120+ drivers that entered last weekend Canberra cup and 3 of those dominated their classes Rookies Driver Daniel Q...uimby was flawless with a clean sweep in his New 950 Praga Monster Evo 3 putting it on pole and winning all the heats and the Final Junior lights Driver Nathan McCarthy Cox in his Dragon Evo 2 put it on the front row for Qualifying in P2 continued his good form through out the heats and stood on the 3 step of the podium with a hard-earnt 3rd in the final New Praga convert Rod Laybutt in the Praga Dragon Evo 2 qualified well in 5th and did great in his first 2 heats engine issues and a bingle in the pre final saw him put back in the fast pack for the final and he struggled to push through the field finishing 13th Jonathon Marcusson returned to his beloved NEW 2020 Dragon Evo 2 DD2 kart in Open performance and had some electrical issues in the first couple of heats but found good pace and just missed out on the top step by a 10th of a second coming home 2nd. We pushed pre-entry to close today, as this allowed for the club to cancel our track... booking without penalty if needed. But now we have passed the required number, we can confirm the meeting is going ahead. We have now extended pre-entry to remain open until the Wed before the meeting so no one misses out! I’d like to thank all the Commitee members, and all others who helped to get the entries in, it is going to be a great meeting!
