Yes, agents have made adjustments to the restrictions surrounding open houses and auctions and you are still able to purchase a new home or sell a property. 2. Can I bring my partner or family member from overseas? There are travel restrictions in place. You can only travel to Australia if you are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident in Australia or you are the spouse or dependent child of an Australian citizen or permanent resident. In simple terms you can still apply for a partner visa to bring your wife/husband from overseas, but do not apply for a visitor visa.

The registration process includes the lodgement of a certificate of compliance. This new legislation affects vendors and purchasers. Purchasers must ensure swimming pools or spas located at a property they wish to purchase comply with the legislation to avoid the costs of the registration process post settlement. If you have a no further stay condition on your visa you can request to waive this condition. ... 4. I cannot pay my rent for my business, what are my options? You can negotiate with your landlord to reduce your rent or alternatively put a hold on your rent. You must continue to pay your rent until alternative arrangements are agreed upon. 5. I have upcoming court dates what will happen? All courts have implemented ways to respond to the current situation. Some matters in the Magistrates Court are being adjourned, matters in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court are proceeding via phone where possible. If you already have a lawyer they will advise you of any changes to your matters. If you do not have a lawyer, correspondence will be sent to you directly. 6. Can I still file applications in the courts? Seek legal advice for any new matters. Most courts have moved to online filing only. Applications for Intervention Orders are only being heard immediately if they are of an urgent nature, otherwise they are being listed before a Magistrate in mid-June 2020. If you are unsure whether your business may remain open please contact our office and one of our solicitors will assist you. Workplaces that remain open must:... have a COVID Safe Plan in place that is regularly updated (unless you are a small business with fewer than 5 employees) ensure that any workers that can work from home are able to do so collect records of all workers, subcontractors, customers and clients attending the work premises for 15 minutes or longer (certain exemptions will apply) one worker per four square metres of enclosed workspace or in shared areas unless an exemption applies, ensure that workers do not work across multiple sites, or for multiple employers ensure that workers are in good health - workers cannot work if they are unwell and employers must not require workers with symptoms to work if your worker is unwell, send them home and direct them to be tested.
