We know that you've been helping all the people in your local area understand, protect themselves from and recover from covid-19.... Thank you to Michael from Baccomatto Osteria Randwick who had only recently made the big investment in opening up shop, but ALREADY has a reputation for being a friendly, welcoming hospitality hot spot in the heart of Randwick. And was covid-food-preparation trained and ready to supply with community donated funds. Your HUNDRED meals were so gratefully accepted, by the hard working medics at Prince of Wales Hospital. With our whole hearts.... Please do something for us. Stay home. Call your loved ones on the phone. But don't visit them. We healthcare workers are isolating from our families, so we don't infect them. I want to be able to kiss my kids again. And hug my Mom. I can do that sooner if you wash your hands and just stay home for us." - A nurse from USA This kind of captures why we want to help these brave frontline workers. We were able to partner with a local covid-certified café to provide these meals to the brave, selfless people working in Mona Vale Critical Care Centre's covid ward today. 16.01.2022 Thank you Galerie Cafe at 66 Pacific Hwy, St Leonards for the nutritious variety of meals you prepared today for our hospital heroes at RNSH. Jay and Alex from Galerie Café only opened their shop in December. So they must have taken on big responsibilities with rent, fit out and staff. With very few customers since the pandemic, they, like many other café and restaurant owners, must be struggling to survive financially. They took the time to carefully prepare a menu, design s...igns and share their covid food prep certifications with us, to become our food partner. If you live nearby, go and order some takeaway. 14.01.2022 Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mona Vale Critical Care Centre. We have been able to deliver 60 meals in the last week to the Hospital in the Home team and the Covid Department to lift the spirits of these frontliners who are caring for our most vulnerable. The Tramshed Cafe, Narrabeen Lake went out of their way to create these signs and prepare for a tv crew to film in their kitchen at a safe social distance, to deliver these nutritious meals to our hospital heroes. 12.01.2022 Nepean Hospital Update! Today we were able to deliver 30 meals to Nepean Hospital to the Covid testing team to lift the spirits of these frontliners right at the coal face of this disease. 10.01.2022 G R A T E F U L You all know that medics have been working extra hard in the last month to test additional people, to carefully track the presence of covid-19. What you may not know is that emergency services have had an increase in their work load and mental load because of the mental health impact that covid has caused. ... It's expected that in Australia, more people will take their own lives because of Covid-19 than the illness takes. Data modelling shows 750 additional people this year will take their own lives due to the financial, emotional and physical stress caused by covid, and devastatingly far too many of those have already occurred. Suicide is preventable through personal connections and the teams at Gotcha4Life, Lifeline, Black Dog Institute and Beyond Blue. Please reach out to these organisations if you are in a dark place - help is there for you. We are all in this storm together. In the coming months, we will also be supporting some emergency services legends, who've helped out covid patients and been first responders for the most difficult line of response when someone phones 000. These heroes walk among us. Today, support from our generous community, has enabled us to hire Galerie Cafe to prepare with care, 50 nutritious meals for paramedics and emergency services staff at NBH. Thanks Alex and Jay, we know how tough it is to own a small business right now, even when you make the most delicious food and coffee! 02.01.2022 GOOD NEWS Today we delivered * FIFTY meals * to the hard working medics at Royal North Shore Hospital. The team at @2Pots have completed their covid food preparation training and have HACCP certification which means that all the food they deliver is guaranteed covid-free.... So all the exhausted medics on the receiving end can stop, relax and recharge without having to sanitise or second guess anything. And Peter from 2Pots put in some sweet uplifting, notes too. We have moved as quickly as possible to demonstrate our love for our HEROES working tirelessly on the frontline. @Baccomatto Osteria are one of our Food Partners who have already shown their commitment to supporting our medics (offering discounted meals etc) so we love being able to support them in return.... Today's nourishing delivery is a "simple" pizza, but we know that Baccomatto Osteria famously transform the "simple" pizza concept into something far more special!
