23.01.2022 I've been dreaming and playing and slowly forging a new direction in my art practice. I am taking a sharp turn towards figurative and symbolic work. A style of work that leaves me chasing and hungering for detail and tightly packed loaded compositions. This is a little digital mockup I will soon be laying down and rendering by hand. I have found great joy in spending my time mocking up and proofing my works digitally before moving forward with the final piece. It gives me su...ch a solid basis to work from. It's a process I am also using with paying clients and I love being able to quickly show what I can see before meticulously executing it. I'm thinking this piece will be called "Of Ribbon and Wing". Who's excited to see this piece come together? That's a big YES from me!

04.01.2022 I am leaving my studio a happy creative being tonight. I have officially finished setting up my new art room after moving house and have got stuck into laying down the first few layers of a new piece. I shared a rough concept of this concept in my stories a while ago. It's changed a bit since, but its essence remains the same. I will share more about the symbolism of this piece very soon, but in the meantime I hope these sneaky shots tantalise you and get you curious for m...ore! I'd love to know your thoughts so far! Happy Friday. #feedthehungryartist xox

01.01.2022 Every once in a while, there's a piece that rings so loudly out from your soul it is crystal clear, direction changing and perfect in its message. This is that piece for me. -- "Mourning Blooms" 297 X 420 mm, Acrylic and coloured pencil. -- On a side note, I know a few of you have noticed just how quiet I've been over the last few months. And a few of you so kindly sent me messages to check in -- and for that I'm so grateful for your thoughts and love. ... To tell you the truth it's been an intense few months. It's been one thing after the next... Severe back pain, moving house, a minor car accident to hint at the tip of the iceberg! It seemed to come at me so consistently it was hard to catch my breath and even find the time to create let alone muster the energy or will power. And sometimes I feel it's ok to close the studio door, deal with the fires at hand and trust that when the time is right the creative stuff will happen again. And I am glad to tell you the creative stuff is happening again! Including the finalising of this piece. I will in the next few weeks be setting this up as a print as so many of you have expressed interest in it before it was even finished! So if that's sounds like you, please don't hesitate to let me know if you would like to be put on a list for preorder! Until then, I hope you are all surrounding yourselves with creative love and tlc, and hope that all those enduring the third Melbourne lockdown can get through the next few days with sanity and safety! Big love, #feedthehungryartist xox
