21.01.2022 A thank you message we received at Christmas time. For privacy reasons we haven t posted the photos sent with it. Hi. I just wanted you to know that your care packages were distributed through the Forbes River area on a Christmas Eve. These are some of the girls and ladies who gratefully accepted your packages on their behalf can I say how appreciated they are for us. We are a really isolated area that doesn’t get a great deal of support or help since the fires wiped out our ...valley. The two bags on the chair are for Hannah and Emorfia Cutler. These two women own a large holding of country in our valley and have lost a lot of fencing to fires and that along with the ongoing drought has been difficult. They loved the care packs. Clare is photographed with the sheep. The fires came through her and her husbands property. She was home alone in the lead up to the fires. She kept the sprinklers on her house for a few days before the fires and that is what saved their home. The young girl on the verandah is my daughter Ann Porter. Our property of 2000 acres was completely wiped out in a super cell that also destroyed our main income by burning our sawmill to the ground. Ann is grateful for the care pack as it gives her toiletries to go back to boarding school in January. I also kept a pack for myself if you don’t mind. See more
