25.01.2022 This morning I joined the Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott to announce $1.4 million in funding for a new operations centre for the volunteers at the Marine Rescue Middle Harbour Unit! This new modern base will ensure that the volunteers have the facilities to plan and coordinate their operations and respond to emergencies. Thank you to the Unit Commander Peter Steigrad, Marine Rescue NSW Deputy Commissioner Alex Barrell, and all the volunteers for welcoming us this morning.

23.01.2022 It is so exciting that our much loved Luna Park Sydney is set to be transformed and reinvigorated! This is one of Sydney's much loved and best known destinations, and we are fortunate that it is on our doorstep on beautiful Sydney Harbour. This plan will transform the 85 year old park into a world-class amusement park fit for the 21st century, while retaining its heritage and history. Thanks Minister Stuart Ayres for visiting!



22.01.2022 We are providing an extra $120 million in funding for community and mobile preschools in 2021! This is terrific news for families and young children in NSW who will benefit from an extra year of free preschool, and will remove a layer of financial pressure for many families during this uncertain time. This funding will see: ... families save more than $2,000 per-year per-child, easing the cost of living pressures, and help balance work and family life. funding made available to 700 State-funded community preschools and 38 mobile preschools services that provide care for over 44,000 three to five year olds in the critical years before school.

18.01.2022 This morning I represented the Premier at the 79th Commemoration of HMAS Sydney II. HMAS Sydney II served in the Second World War, and after a number of successful engagements in the Mediterranean returned to Australia. Today we acknowledge the 42 officers and 603 sailors who lost their lives after Sydney II was fatally hit by a torpedo by the German raider HSK Kormoran on November 19, 1941. Thank you to the HMAS Sydney Association, notably Brian Yeo for hosting this service this morning.

It has been an exciting day at the Parliament of NSW hosting local students at the North Shore Bear Pit Public Speaking Competition this morning, and this afternoon considering two pieces of key legislation for our community. 09.01.2022 NSW has recorded its eleventh consecutive day with no reported cases of locally transmitted COVID-19. However testing numbers have dropped significantly over the long weekend, and NSW Health is appealing to all members of our community to come forward for testing at the earliest sign of symptoms. If you have even the mildest symptoms please come forward for testing: ... runny nose scratchy throat cough fever COVID-19 may be continuing to circulate in the community and we must all be vigilant. To help stop the spread: If you are unwell, get tested and isolate right away - don't delay. Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. Wear a mask when using public transport, rideshares, taxis, places of worship, and other places where you can't physically distance.

06.01.2022 NSW Health have advised that a confirmed case of COVID-19 attended Ripples Milsons Point on Saturday 3 October from 8pm to 10.30pm. Deep cleaning was underway this evening. While contact tracing is now well underway, NSW Health have advised that the details of a small number of walk-in diners in the restaurant during this time were not recorded. All diners who were in the restaurant at that time are considered close contacts and must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days since they were there, and stay isolated for the entire period, even if a negative test result is received.

03.01.2022 COVID-19 Update From this Friday, 16 October restrictions at hospitality venues will be eased to allow one patron for every two square metres in outdoor areas (previously one person per four square metres). Businesses wishing to take advantage of the relaxed restrictions must use electronic methods, like QR codes, to record and keep contact details. ... Under changes effective immediately, 500 people will be able to attend outdoor seated music performances and rehearsals, subject to the four square metre rule and people being seated. Organisers of outdoor music performances or rehearsals are required to have a COVID-19 Safety Plan, which must cover: - Wellbeing of the audience - Physical distancing requirements for audience - Hygiene and cleaning requirements - Record keeping of all attendees.
