23.01.2022 PREGNANCY LOWER BODY After learning a whole lot more about my pelvic floor & how much it is important to not only strengthen it during pregnancy but also to protect it. Protect it for birth, post natal recovery & also for years to come after. Being conscious of your pelvic floor & by working on it will help reduce incontinence issues & hip & back problems as we get older. As I progress through my pregnancy I will be working with a physio to learn more for m...y body & educate you all to. Cause I like to share Here is my workout from yesterday. If you are not pregnant, you can still do this one, with alternatives in weights. As you can see Im not using much weight these days as a precaution due to my history of miscarriages. This is a personal choice & each pregnancy is different for each woman. I have been a little quiet here on the social media front due to lots of behind the scenes stuff going on. ... 23.01.2022 CHOCOLATE PROTEIN BALLS INGREDIENTS 1/4 Cup Chia Seeds 4 Tbsp Almond Butter... 3 Tbsp Protein Powder (I use the @pranaon Vegan Protein Powder in Chocolate available from all @supplement.mart stores) 1/8 Tsp Sea Salt 1 Tbsp Honey 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil (melted, not hot) 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Shredded Coconut 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract DIRECTIONS; 1 Place all ingredients in a bowl & mix until well combined. 2 Use a tablespoon size scoop to roll into a ball. 3 Roll the ball in extra coconut for outer coating. If coconut is not sticking, use a tiny drop of water to make the coconut stick. 4 Place in the fridge as they are best eaten chilled. 23.01.2022 If there is a pet hate of mine ... its scales!!! I actually threw mine out about 5 years ago right before I started competing. Why did I do this? Simple - I was becoming obsessed with numbers. I would jump on the scales every damn morning & I started to lose my mind because the variations of the numbers each day began to consume me. My Coach at the time who was prepping me for my first ever body building comp told me to throw them out as we are not judged by our weight on st...age. Its by the eye. Since then, I have not used scales until I purchased some to measure my clients by. However, I use them VERY lightly. I prefer to go by skin folds & tape measurements. SCALES TRIGGER EMOTIONS! We begin to look at the number as BAD & we let it set our mood & how our relationship with food & exercise will be. Bad number = starvation or binge eating or exercise through punishment. This is NOT HEALTHY in anyway both physically or mentally. SCALES DONT PICK UP OTHER FACTORS ... such as fluid retention, hydration, poo (if you notice when you weigh yourself in the morning after your first for the day, you will be lighter than when you first woke up), hormones & muscle mass (muscle is dense than fat)! SCALES SO NOT DETERMINE YOUR OVERALL HEALTH!!! I weighed less when I was unhealthy & not exercising. Now I am 5kgs heavier with muscle mass but look leaner than when I was at my unhealthiest. Go figure IT WILL MAKE YOU UNHAPPY! Focusing on that decrease or increase of number will not make you happy in the long run. You know what will??! Getting stronger & feeling healthier & more energetic. My clients are all encouraged to ditch their scales because as their trainer, that is my job to monitor that - but within reason. My clients are at their happiest when they feel better & their clothes begin to get looser NOT when they jump on the scales. Your SELF WORTH is NOT measured by a damn SCALE! Be kind to yourselves girls! If you eat healthy, exercise daily, stay hydrated & sleep well, then you are doing enough! STOP OBSESSING OVER SCALE WEIGHT! INGREDIENTS 1 tbsp Olive Oil 500g Lean Beef Mince 1 Onion, finely chopped 1 1/2 Cups Mushrooms, chopped 1 Carrot, chopped 1 Zucchini, diced 1 Red Capsicum, diced 1 400g Tin Tomatoes 250ml Vegetable Stock 2 Tbsp Tomato Puree 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce 1 Tsp Ground Pepper Your choice of pasta - I use Chickpea Pulse Pasta DIRECTIONS 1 Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the mince and the onion and fry for five minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mince is browned and the onions softened. 2 Add mushrooms, carrot, zucchini & capsicum & cook for around one minute, then add tinned tomatoes, vegetable stock, tomato purée, Worcestershire sauce and freshly ground black pepper. Stir well and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the sauce has thickened. 3Place your pasta choice in a deep saucepan full of salted boiling water and cook according to packet instructions, then drain. 4 To serve, divide the cooked spaghetti between four dishes, spoon equal portions of Bolognese sauce over each and sprinkle with parsley (if desired). INGREDIENTS 1 serve Protein Powder (I use Prana On Vanilla or Body Science Clean Vegan Protein)... 1 small Banana, frozen 1/2 cup Mixed Berries, frozen 1 tsp Almond Butter 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds Top with water or Almond Milk if you want to make it creamier DIRECTIONS 1. Fill blender/NutriBullet with your choice of liquid (water or Almond Milk). 2. Add the protein powder, banana, berries, almond butter & chia seeds. 3. 10.01.2022 I N J U R I E S Ohhh this is an area of caution especially when you are a Personal Trainer with a new client who comes to you with an injury. In most situations the PT would turn them away because 1. Its a high risk factor for them & some insurances do not cover for these circumstances, & 2. They simply just place it in the too hard basket. Because - well, lazy or just scared. ... You see I look at it as extra knowledge & a challenge that I am willing to take on carefully & open minded. The client in the photos came to me with a torn meniscus. She was advised that shed need surgery. I researched her injury over & over. I studied what needed to be done to work on strengthening this area. I also tend to work alongside the allied health professionals who are treating some of my clients. They give me the all clear to exercise with restrictions & we go from there. My client with the torn meniscus has been doing her homework (exercise programs) outside of the Feline Fitness studio & applying herself in her one on one sessions with me. After what has been 12+ weeks of working with me, her specialist has noticed that she is walking better & guess what, shes not going to need surgery anymore!!!! We have managed to work on strengthening the muscles from her glutes down to her quads to the surrounding muscle of the knee. By strengthening these muscles, it has helped the recovery of the tear. This girl is now jogging again & she is now squatting with 15kg & growing!But the added bonus, she is also dropping weight & tightening up her bod! FUEL - proper nutrition will not only help you lose the excess weight but it will also help you perform better throughout your exercise training sessions. 07.01.2022 I wasn’t going to post about this as it can be taken as a bit of a negative but as it’s something that comes up quite regularly in the fitness industry, I feel there is a need for awareness. So here goes!!! Unless you have a Personal Trainer/Coach that has no idea what they are doing, are not qualified, are only in it for the money & actually don’t care - STOP BLAMING YOUR PERSONAL TRAINER FOR YOUR LACK OF RESULTS WHEN ALL YOU ARE DOING IS LYING TO YOURSELF!!! We aren’t stu...pid! We know when you are or aren’t sticking to your programs - be it exercise or food. Little do you know ... we know a lot! This is why we track your progress. PROGRESS NEVER LIES. It’s not damn rocket science - if you eat more than you move ... you won’t lose weight. You could even gain weight. I have explained this to my clients - you will only lose weight when you are in a CALORIE DEFICIT. In other words, the calories you consume (FOOD, DRINKS) need to be LESS than the calories you burn (EXERCISE). Stop blaming others for your weight gain & lack of weight loss when you are the one shoving shit into your mouth & when you say you smash our exercise daily when you just aren’t. I think I’ll be speaking on behalf of a lot of frustrated Personal Trainers here. STOP BAD MOUTHING YOUR PERSONAL TRAINER when your PT isn’t actually the problem. Look in the mirror & start with you first before you go blaming someone else for your incompetency to listen, learn & act. HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE LIKE AN ADULT! My clients who have had incredible results are the ones that step up to the plate & take ownership when they haven’t been sticking to their programs. Honesty works better for you. TRUST ME! My latest challenge winner had the best results in 4 weeks all because she held herself accountable, communicated with me regularly, checked in each Sunday without fail & was honest, not just to me but more-so to herself. If you take this post personally & it upsets you then maybe this is a slap in the face you need. I hope this can help those realise the WHY not the WHO for their lack of results.

07.01.2022 RECIPE : POWER ENERGY BALLS These little babies are jam packed full of nutrients to keep you fuller for longer while giving you that kick of energy you need throughout the day. GLUTEN & DAIRY FREE!!! Ensure you opt for gluten free oats to keep it gluten free.... INGREDIENTS 7 or 3/4 cup Medjool dates (pips removed) 2-3 tablespoons Water 1 cup gluten free Oats 1/2 cup creamy Peanut Butter 3 tablespoons Flaxseed/Linseed 2 tablespoons Cacao Powder 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil DIRECTIONS 1. Add dates & water into food processor. 2. Process on high for 2-3 minutes until dates start to form a paste. If dates are a little dry, add more water to help them blend. 3. EQUIPMENT NEEDED; Treadmill alternative : 20 minute walk around your neighbourhood (dont forget to practise social distancing) Battle Ropes alternative : star jumps Dumbbells : 1L water bottles filled with sand Ez-bar alternative : broomstick with 1L water bottles tied on each end Kettle bell : large water container filled with sand to the weight you desire No excuses guys! This whole workout was less than 1 hour. Do it as soon as you wake up in the morning to get it over & done with & feel energised for the rest of the day OR do it when the kids have been put to bed. 05.01.2022 MOTIVATION MONDAY Looking through some memories of mine & this one popped up. Isnt it funny when we are in that moment of time we see things so differently?!? Back then I remember striving for a perfect physique. Being lean. Focusing on every inch of my body & obsessing over how I could better it. Today ... as much as being that lean again would be great ... I have a different out look on what is a healthy, happy body. I have used this picture as my motivation today ... no...t to push myself to be that lean but to remind me of why I love to exercise. It makes me happy. 04.01.2022 RECIPE FOR DISASTER A young girl (approximately early twenties) asks about fat burners. This girl has also been put on a strict 800 per day calorie diet by her personal trainer! She wants a fat burner to get results faster because the diet just isnt working. She is exercising. She has also been on this diet for 1 week & is frustrated as she isnt noticing any changes. Here are the problems;... 1. Women, within reason, should not be on 800 calories per day! Unless medically advised. Why not? Hormones! Yeah you may lose some weight in the short term, but starving your body of proper nutrients is going to cause it long term effect. Which, could possibly effect your hormone production & all things incredible about being a woman could turn out to be not so incredible. 2. Personal trainers, unless qualified as a nutritionist or dietician, should NOT be giving out diets. Legally we are only allowed to give out nutritional guidance to our clients. 3. Wanting change in 1 week is like expecting to be promoted in a new job in 1 week. Its not realistic. These things take time. Patience, consistency & hard work is what will get you results ... but 1 week just aint gonna cut it. 4. Fat burners are a supplement. For them to work, you need to be in a calorie deficit already. Energy in (FOOD) must be LESS THAN energy out (EXERCISE). Get your nutrition right, keep exercising, drink at least 2L water daily & get at least 7-8 hours of good quality sleep each night. Then supplement. As women, why do we pressure ourselves to look a certain way but feel we have to suffer to achieve that look??? LADIES ... HEALTHY is sexy AF! Moody, hungry, skinny & exhausted is NOT!

03.01.2022 BREAKFAST PROTEIN SMOOTHIE This has been my go to every morning lately. Its quick to make & handy when I have to race off to work as I can drink it in the car on the way there. INGREDIENTS 1 serve Protein Powder (I use Prana On Vanilla or Body Science Clean Vegan Protein)... 1 small Banana, frozen 1/2 cup Mixed Berries, frozen 1 tsp Almond Butter 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds Top with water or Almond Milk if you want to make it creamier DIRECTIONS 1. Fill blender/NutriBullet with your choice of liquid (water or Almond Milk). 2. Add the protein powder, banana, berries, almond butter & chia seeds. 3. 02.01.2022 R E A L R E S U L T S : R E A L I T Y C H E C K Ok ... so I feel I need to put this out here. Who is feeling pissed off that they are not getting the results that they thought they would get by now?... Who is feeling frustrated? Who feels they are giving it their all but are just still not happy? Well ... I ask you 4 things; 1. Hows your food intake working for you? 2. Think your training hard enough? But are you really? 3. Are you having a good 6 - 8 hours of quality sleep each night? 4. Are you drinking at least 2 litres of water EVERY day? The thing is, I preach this to you all - pretty much on the daily. You know what you need to do. I am here to push you through your sessions & I am here to give you the best guidance in terms of health & nutrition. So, what you choose to do outside of this is not my fault. Lets start being honest with ourselves. Take into account the extra treat snacks, the extra alcohol, the extra sugar, the lack of sleep, the lack of water, the excessive amount of bad carbs ... oh I could go on forever. You all train hard in your sessions so why would you want to waste that effort to destroy it by a binge session ... or 2 or 3?!? You pay me to write your meal plans & your training programs. You can stick to it or not. But why would you want to; 1. waste your money, & 2. receive a well thought out plan to just ignore it?? Im not saying you cant have the foods but I just feel I need to explain that you make your own choices so accept the responsibility of the results you get. This may come across harsh but I need you to all have a good reflection back over the past week. What did you do in your weak moments? Do you feel you exercised enough?
