17.01.2022 Old video from 2016. Fun to look back :P
16.01.2022 Have seen heaps of Exquisite Corpse choreography videos going around and wanted to play with a different approach to it! Filmed and thrown together in half a day, super fun test of my editing skills!!! Obviously this R.E.M track is an absolute banger and I don’t own it but it just wouldn’t be the same without it. Featuring Tessie, Ollie, Scotty and Sausage the dog.
06.01.2022 Hi world! After falling in love with this podcast by Hofesh Shechter, https://fueltheatre.com/projects/everyday-moments/ I've made an improv track and I'd dig it if you chucked your headphones on and disappeared into it for 14 minutes... Created for contemporary dancers but honestly, it doesn't matter if you're not a dancer, feel free to just sit down and have a listen if you want, I won't know. ... Language warning and some loud/sudden noises. Background music is from Nils Frahm's BEAUTIFUL new album, 'Empty', combined with my own play time on Audacity. Please don't sue me, I do not own the rights to this music, just needed to make this and love his music so goddamn much. It's such a beautiful album. Please go and buy it and support this incredible artist! nilsfrahm.bandcamp.com If any musicians out there feel like working with me on some other tracks, I'd be so keen... dm me :D https://soundcloud.com/felix-palmerson/slippery-bones
04.01.2022 The more I look at this image, the more I feel a deep sense of pride and privilege in it. Those young women were watching us, a fellow group of young women, unapologetically taking up space, unfazed by the gaze of others. We weren’t aggressive or defensive, we weren’t devaluing the presence of anyone else, we were simply there - content to be seen but not forcing it, free to gallop through crowds but equally free to stand stock still, eyes closed, hips wherever they wanted to... be. Even if they didn’t intellectualise it, my hope is that there was an internal recognition during their watching... a representation of female bodies and stories that they hadn’t seen before. Despite the inequalities that are still prominent in our Australian gender culture, I feel also lucky to be able to perform this act of quiet protest through public art, and not fear for my life. This I very much see as a privilege and a responsibility. Thank you Anna Källblad, Helena Byström , Supercell: Festival of Contemporary Dance Brisbane and my fellow horses for this unique opportunity to bring female stories to Brisbane’s cityscape with ‘City Horses’. #cityhorses #byströmkällblad #strengthinsubtlety #publicart #publicspace #wedeservethisspace #brisbanecity #queenstreetmall #queenstreetmallbrisbane #danceupastorm #supercelldancefestival #supercell2020
