25.01.2022 If you had winter grass spoiling your lawns last year, now we are coming into Autumn, this is time to treat your lawns to prevent the re establishment of the winter grass. This will require 2 treatments 4 weeks apart, irrigate immediately after application with 12 25mm irrigation or rain and again 24 hours later. To completely eradicate winter grass seed this treatment may be required for a few years. Quotes can be made on square meters to be treated.

23.01.2022 Station manager was wondering where all the tank water to the trough was going. I spent the night overwatching the trough and at about 2200hrs a herd of 120 camels wandered in for a drink. A single camel will drink 100 litres, 100 camels 10,000 litres and when the trough runs dry they will bite and pull at the trough ball valve, quite often braking the pipe and draining the tank. The result is no water for the cattle and damage to the water pipes and trough. On the following morning 3 hours was spent dragging the carcasses away from the watering point.

Also known as alates or reproductive stage termites, flying male and female alates emerge from existing colonies to mate and form new nests elsewhere. A flying termite swarm near the home nest could indicate a large colony in the yard or some other nearby location. While both species have four wings, termite wings are uniform in size. Winged ants have noticeably larger wings in the front than the pair in the back. Termites antennae are almost straight where the ant's antennae is elbowed.
