23.01.2022 Notification if you plan to burn outside of permit period If you’re planning to burn on your property, you need to let the RFS know at least 24 hours before you light up. Notifying the RFS of your planned burn can help reduce unnecessary emergency calls. You also need to notify your immediate neighbours, including those separated by a road, lane or waterway at least 24 hours before burning. You can notify the RFS of your activity using the form at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-inform//burn-notifications. Additional information about planning to burn vegetation on your property can be found at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//Before-you-light-that-fire-202

22.01.2022 Help us to help you. Do you have a creek, pool, dam or other static water supply (SWS)? Then why not let us know. Order your SWS signs now with your local brigade. Available in metal or self adhesive to display at the front of your property. This indicates to fireys available water sources to draw from in times of need. Bellingen local Bob Alexander (ex Fire and Rescue NSW) brought the idea to our area said, Using these signs makes a big difference and help the fire service... increase their response times. By displaying SWS we assist our fireys to make quicker decisions. Order your sign now by contacting your local brigade. Bellingen: 6651 1433 Urunga: 6655 6309

20.01.2022 How exciting! 2 weeks to go. Sgt Matthew Locke MG Charity Match. 27th February 2021. Thanks Fernmount RFS.

13.01.2022 Today a crew from Fernmount, along with a crew from Repton, assisted Urunga brigade with a hazard reduction burn. It was an excellent opportunity for some of our recently qualified members to put their skills into practice. Conditions were good and the job was completed successfully.
