25.01.2022 Despite the restrictions easing, we won’t be opening our doors for a few weeks to sit down customers. For now, we’re taking the time to find some staff, brew some beer, and enjoy the god damn beach because it’s just been way too long. We can’t wait to welcome you back in June, but for now we’ll be open for takeaways from 1pm today. Perfect to grab a six pack o’ Red IPA and enjoy the normality that’s slowly streaming back into our lives. Cheers to that
24.01.2022 It’s so humbling to look back on this day a year ago when we couldn’t have been more excited about our shiny, new delivery. Fast forward a year, it’s up and running and thankfully so is our business with a brand new, not so shiny (but very important) delivery due tomorrow . Thanks to our locals for the incredible support, we’re a small business and a small family and we’re so appreciative that we’re able to do what we love and somehow make it work. Here’s to hoping we haven’t just jinxed it. See you guys today for a beer or two

23.01.2022 We’re so thrilled that the incredible team at Flour&Chocolate Northgate have put our Red IPA into a pie. We’ve likely consumed as many of their delectable treats as our own beers and to see them work their magic on our own creation is a pretty exciting thing. 22.01.2022 Fabris family have arrived from Luxembourg and brought with them not only epic Belgian beers, but some pretty darn good cooking skills too. This was Fabris mum this morning, hand making fresh Panzarotti, a deep fried pastry filled with Mozzarella and tomato and commonly found in Puglia, the Southern region of Italy where Angela is from. Available this weekend, buon appetito!
22.01.2022 For those of you who dont know, our last beers were brewed offsite while we waited for our approvals. It was great to finally brew some beer and get it flowing through our taps but yesterday we brewed on our own kit and we couldnt be more relieved. Finally filling up our tanks with our own creations is a bloody good feeling. Heres Fabri, putting the finishing touches on our Golden Ale just in time for the New Year!
22.01.2022 Were restocked! We spent all day yesterday bottling and labeling and simultaneously sourcing a new bottling and labeling line(yes its related). Check out our gravity fed bottle washing system courtesy of our onsite Engineer (aka my dad) made from a bucket, some leftover aluminum brackets, and some spray nozzles. Yep, were fancy AF here at FICK and finding creative ways to get the job done. Our makeshift bottle shop is open daily from 12-6pm and now full of beer, ready for your weekend.

We planned our brewery while living in (landlocked) Luxembourg and I convinced Fabri that in Australia we would be able to fit in a quick surf before work. I may have just been spruiking it but two months in and hes finally nailing it. 20.01.2022 So turns out people LOVE mussels. We ran out yesterday but are now fully restocked with a bunch of fresh, Australian grown, organic Blue Mussels for our moules frites. We’re open today from 12-8pm

17.01.2022 We’re open Christmas Eve for drinks only (at the bar and takeaways) from 12-4pm, reopening again on Saturday 2nd January. Our Christmas present arrived just in time (goodbye hand labeling!) so we’re now stocked with cartons of Golden Ale and Triples. We’re still coming to terms with the fact we own something with a conveyor belt (!) but just happy and humbled to see out the year with some sign of progress in the crazy year that was . 15.01.2022 Our very first discussions about opening a brewery included mussels, and now they’re finally here. The most recent addition to our menu is moules frites - mussels cooked in white wine with hand-cut, double-fried chips, and sourdough bread. Washing them down with a Triple is not essential but highly recommended. ... Might see you tonight for moules frites et une chope À bientôt!

12.01.2022 Just got back from the Royal Queensland Good Food and Wine Show awards where we entered two of our beers and got two bloody bronze medals (for our Red IPA and Golden Ale).This is us about to celebrate with a Cantillon Ros de Gambrinus and an Orval because, well why the hell not. The same reason we decided to enter the comp in the first place! Also a massive shout out to our neighbours and friends, Aether Brewing, who just won Champion Small Brewery! Northside, killin it.

11.01.2022 Were business as usual this weekend, open from lunch Friday to Sunday and super stoked to have Garage Project on our guest taps. One of the greatest things about our job is discovering new beers, not just our own creations, but sampling the crazy and wonderful things that other breweries are achieving. On tap we have both La Calavera Catrina - a rose water, watermelon, and Habanero chilli beer as well as their classic White Mischief - lightly salted, infused with white peaches and damn refreshing. 08.01.2022 We always forget to post photos of our food (mainly due to hunger) but our kitchen is now pumping out some delicious new food that we had to share. A Cordon Bleu burger, Nioise salad, croquettes, hand cut chips, and Tarte Flambes to name a few. Sunday lunch, sorted.
08.01.2022 One giant leap closer. We just finished having our taps installed and glorious beer is now flowing. It feels like an eternity since we started; three years ago to the month we put an offer on our Northgate home and just this morning it feels like it finally flowed into a glass and into a reality. Still finalising a few details with our taproom but working hard to reach a projected opening date of Saturday, November 16th. Well keep you posted. For now, theres beer and thats all that really matters.

08.01.2022 We live upstairs of our brewery - this is our daily commute to work - so business as usually really is just that for us. Well be open from lunch, Friday to Sunday and monitoring the situation very closely. Its just Fabri and myself steering this crazy ship through this very strange storm (cue Lieutenant Dan and were Forest Gump at the helm) so please be kind and take all the necessary precautions, as we have. 06.01.2022 So our equipment survived the typhoon and made it to the sunny shores of Australia. Were all really excited, especially this little guy, to finally get it in the brewhouse and make some beer. Its been a long haul, over 14 months in fact, but this week we jumped the last hurdle and received our final licence from council. We cant wait to meet our locals and have a few beers together. One brewery and tap room coming very soon.
05.01.2022 Its with a heavy heart that weve decided tomorrow (Sunday) will be the last day our taproom is open for the foreseeable future. We want everyone to keep safe and sound, including our new arrival later this year (one baby / aka our new Assistant Brewer due September ). In the meantime we have our current Assistant Brewer, whos seriously lacking in experience, but whose ambition alone will help us get through the next few brews in isolation. Were working at packaging our... beers and hope to have some takeaways for you in the next few weeks. For now our taproom will be open daily for Squealer and Growler takeaways so feel free to send us a message and pop on down. Stay healthy and happy everyone. 03.01.2022 Thanks for your patience, guys. We pushed really hard but didnt receive our final sign offs in time. A couple of big oks came through last evening which allows us to sell beer so well definitely be opening our doors next Friday from midday. Kitchen is still TBC. Looking forward to meeting you all next weekend for some refreshing (and painfully overdue) beers.

01.01.2022 What a ride. Just received a gold medal for our Brussels Ale and took out Champion European-Style Ale at the RQFWS beer awards. How’s our little northside district with @aether_brewing and @allinnbrewingco also taking out one of the champion awards. 3 outta 10 from Northgate / Banyo ain’t bad!
