Person is currently studying and working part time near the city. If you know anyone who can assist or has a room please let me know. ... Thanks. Xo

19.01.2022 Wonder what and how "permanent " the housing will be for the 89 or so. It didn't exist or it would have been available to them already.

17.01.2022 This is what I'd like to create in Australia

14.01.2022 One person making a difference. I'll have to get back to working on my homelessness project which includes solutions like this.

13.01.2022 Working to end Homelessness. Government isn't the answer. People are.

12.01.2022 Homelessness still exists in Australia. This was one innovative way to provide housing. Tin City. Originally, Tin City was a camp made up of a community of homeless men in the late 1920s during the depression era. The shacks are governed by a 100-year lease signed in 1920 under longstanding squatters settlement, and the shacks are not owned in a traditional sense, but they are privately occupied and passed down to family and friends. 11.01.2022 Dress for Success is a great initiative helping women get back to work with some IT skills and clothes for interviews etc. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. I'd like to see one for homeless men as well. https://dressforsuccess.org/

11.01.2022 Homelessness can affect anyone.

10.01.2022 Council's not supporting someone who would otherwise be homeless.

09.01.2022 The faces of Sydney's homeless. The difference between the homeless and you and I in many cases is only 2 to 3 pays.

09.01.2022 A fantastic night on the street, so many hungry peeps. We will need a bigger kitchen to keep up with the food soon. One of our fabulous guys scored a job last w...eek. He told me tonight that he has worked 51 hours over the last week. That is such a huge effort to go from living on the streets and no work to 51 hours work your first week and still love the job. We are so proud of him. He didn't ask, but about 6 of the other guys came and asked me to help him with lunches, as he hasn't had a pay check yet he is working with no food all day. Of course we were able to help him. What I also love is that so many guys were looking out for him, it really is an Agape family down there and they look out for each other. Today Agape was also blessed to send boxs of mostly brand new clothes to the mens prison for the guys being released. They often just have the clothes on their back. We love what we do thank you for helping us to help others. See more

08.01.2022 "A single bad incident can send you reeling". Poverty and profit in the American city (applies in Australia too). This book strangely enough was in Bill Gates top 5 reading list. ... Overview: "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City" by Matthew Desmond (2016)Amazon Gates called this book a "searing portrait of American poverty." Desmond, a sociologist at Princeton University, spent 18 months living in two neighborhoods in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - one mostly white, the other mostly black - with high rates of poverty and documented the lives of residents, including landlords and renters. It was easy to empathize with the subjects, Gates said, because Desmond helps you understand why they make their choices. He won a MacArthur Foundation "genius" grant and a Pulitzer for "Evicted." "When you're paying so much to keep a roof over your head, there's no room for bad luck," Gates wrote. "A single bad incident can send you reeling."

06.01.2022 Homelessness and suicide. An inside perspective. Most people are only 2 pays from homelessness.

05.01.2022 Alternative housing solutions for homeless. Anyone know someone in Australia who can do this?

05.01.2022 Won't go far the way governments spend it. A bandaid at best.

05.01.2022 Recycling ideas for plastic. Maybe the answer to our homelessness problem. Houses made out of plastic waste. These houses will last 100 years, and says only costs $280 to build. More research on this! :-)

04.01.2022 More housing profits going to the private sector. This won't solve the affordability issue, nust pushes the burden back onto the taxpayer via government subsidies.
