25.01.2022 A very special friend shared this poem with me today. It brought tears to my eyes. I am comfortable with that. Emotions and feelings are natural. Sit with them and let yourself be. There is no need to change a thing. To love and to be loved, is a wonderful feeling. I am thankful

24.01.2022 Book recommendation! Be who you are. Find balance, speak honestly, value those you love, and allow yourself to be happy. If you do this, then you will not only be honouring yourself, but all those who despaired in their final weeks by not having the courage to do so previously in their own lives. The choice is yours. Your life is your own. (Bronnie Ware, 2011)

24.01.2022 Kafka and the travelling doll is a beautiful story, penned by Jordi Sierra I Fabra, about a fabled encounter by Prague-born author Franz Kafka. The beautiful illustration above is by Isabel Torner. https://rookatme.com/kafka-and-the-travelling-doll/

24.01.2022 2020 has been a year of great sadness and loss. Not just because we have lost loved ones to sickness and disease, but because we have been separated from those we love for longer than ever before. Our freedoms and choices have been taken away. It is OK to cry, but it is also OK to smile and laugh. We are here We can enjoy another day on this beautiful planet; our home. Memories are with us forever but we can dream of hugs, kisses and the simple touch of those we love.... We have been reminded that these things are more precious than anything money can buy. 21.01.2022 Today I worked with a private client; a lovely lady who happens to be wheelchair bound, offering a guided meditation and some insight into how mindfulness can improve self acceptance. Self-acceptance is the awareness of our own strengths and weaknesses, the realistic yet subjective appraisal of our talents, capabilities and general worth and feelings of satisfaction with ourself despite deficiencies and regardless of past behaviors and choices. Coaching in Mindfulness and Meditation may be funded by the NDIS

20.01.2022 if you are using the #Calmapp to aid your mindfulness practice, today you would have learned about the change of season and the art of letting go. You would have also heard this quote from #JackKornfield (born 1945), a bestselling American author and teacher in the vipassana movement in American Theravada Buddhism. He trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma and India, first as a student of the Thai forest master Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma. He has taught meditation worldwide since 1974 and is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practices to the West. In 1975,

19.01.2022 So, Christmas has passed for another year. Maybe you had a wonderful time, filled with love and happiness. But maybe you didn't? Maybe you are glad you have simply got through it, and that should be enough!... I have learnt that Christmas can be many different things. For me, it will never be like the Christmases of old. Life for me and my family has changed. I am learning not to dwell on the past, but to hold them in my heart as happy memories. I try to enjoy each Christmas that comes around as a day to be grateful; a day to look forward; a day to reset and reconsider; but most of all; a day to be glad I am still here to make the best of this wonderful World in which we live and share. Xx Heart in Mind Coaching wishes all it's followers and friends a time of peace, reflection and gratitude; today and everyday. With love

19.01.2022 Ubuntu; I am because we are Ubuntu is a beautiful Zulu word that stands for inter-connectedness. Ubuntu essentially means humanity but has gone on to have a more widespread meaning emphasizing on spreading kindness to connect people. It is the understanding that we cannot exist in isolation and so Ubuntu is more commonly interpreted as I am because we are. It means that we are all a sum total not just of our own experiences but because we are social creatures, we are a collective summary of our own as well as the shared experiences of our society. (Thank you to Father Bob Maguire on Anh Dohs Brush With Fame for reminding me of this)

16.01.2022 If you are struggling with how your life has changed from the real world to the virtual world; you are not alone: I am a human being. I am not a computer terminal. I thrive on human company and connection with the physical and natural World... I have 5 senses that ALL need to experience life for my body and mind to survive. If I am shut away I will wither away. My heart and soul cannot rejoice in insolation I am a human being. I was made to interact in the real world; To share my gifts, my skills, my strengths AND weaknesses with empathy, kindness and compassion. To explore, encounter, enrich and entertain. To truly live. (Denise Crew, 2020)

09.01.2022 A wise teacher once brought balloons to school, told her pupils to blow them up and write their name on one. After the children tossed their balloons into the hall, the teacher moved through the hall mixing them all up. The kids were given five minutes to find the balloon with their name on it, but though they searched frantically, no one found their own balloon. Then the teacher told them to take the balloon closest to them and give it to the person whose name was on it. In... less than two minutes, everyone was holding their own balloon. The teacher said to the children, These balloons are like happiness. We wont find it when were only searching for our own. But if we care about someone elses happiness...it will ultimately help us find our own. 08.01.2022 When you make the decisions of your life today, ask yourself one question: Am I acting from a place of fear or love? If the answer is fear, dig a little deeper and ask yourself; what am I really afraid of here? Give yourself some loving support around that fear. Fears are normal. ... Unacknowledged fear is toxic See more

05.01.2022 Theres nothing like a cup of freshly brewed tea for calming the mind. A cuppa shared with a loved one is one of the best medicines I know (always brewed to perfection in a china teapot!)

05.01.2022 What a beautiful way to explain Santa to a child who asks the question.... Son: "Dad, I think I'm old enough to know now. Is there really a Santa Claus?" Not being the world's fastest thinker, I stalled for time. Dad: "OK, I agree that you're old enough. But before I tell you, I have a question for you. You see, the truth is a dangerous gift. Once you know something, you can't un-know it. Once you know the truth about Santa Claus, you will never again understand and relate t...o him as you do now. So my question is: Are you sure you want to know?" Brief pause. Son: "Yes. I want to know." Dad: "OK, I'll tell you: Yes, there IS a Santa Claus." Son: "Really?" Dad: "Yes, really, but he's not an old man with a beard in a red suit. That's just what we tell kids. You see, kids are too young to understand the true nature of Santa Claus, so we explain it to them in a way that they can understand. The truth about Santa Claus is that he's not a person at all; he's an idea. Think of all those presents Santa gave you over the years. I actually bought those myself. I watched you open them. And did it bother me that you didn't thank me? Of course not! In fact it gave me great pleasure. You see, Santa Claus is THE IDEA OF GIVING FOR THE SAKE OF GIVING, without thought of thanks or acknowledgement. For example: When I saw a woman collapse on the street last week and call for help, I knew that she'd never know that it was me who summoned the ambulance. I was being Santa Claus when I did that." Son: "Oh, I see" Dad: "So now that you know, you're part of it. You have to be Santa Claus too now. That means you can never tell young children the secret, and you have to help us select Santa presents for them, and most important, you have to look for opportunities to help people too. Have you got it?" (Author: Greystones Primary School Principal )
