24.01.2022 This week at Fine Arts Printing Press we have had the pleasure and great professional satisfaction to work with eagle eyed travelling artisan Jane Siddell, owner and creative powerhouse behind the wearable art and striking homewares of her studio boutique business, Foto Fabrique. Jane contacted us to request a test print, and then ordered 7 exquisite photographic artworks used for her fabric and wearable art collection on the highest archival quality imaging technology and f...ine art paper media. We thought you would enjoy seeing some of her work through the mesmerising prints we produced for her - the highest quality available at the best possible prices. We recommended using our museum grade cotton rag: at 310 GSM it provides a lightly textured firm medium that produces the deepest, velvet hues in shadows with colour correct highlights in a 99% Pantone gamut. 24.01.2022 http://otherfilmfestival.com/tw/but-baby-its-cold-outside/ I was invited to participate in the Other Film Festival 2020 titled "Two Degrees", focusing on peop...le with disability and climate change. I created a 10 minute short film and collaborated with musician Ben Heppel who wrote and performed the score. All the images, footage, scientific visualisations, data and graphics were sourced through scientific works in the public domain and produced by NASA and partner organisations. My main message is to other artists and communicators that this incredible resource is available to you to demonstrate alongside your own work what is actually happening to our planet, now, in real time, not in the abstract or through the lens of political division which dominate our collective relationship to what is really taking place. There are 14 artists participating in the festival this year and it's truly an honour to be featured amongst such a diverse range of creatives who have produced such amazing works. 23.01.2022 A German physician , zoologist , philosopher, draftsman and free thinker who developed Charles Darwin's ideas into a special theory of parentage . Through his popular writings and lectures, he contributed greatly to the spread of Darwinism in Germany, which, in contrast to his teacher Rudolf Virchow and his opponent Emil Heinrich Du Bois-Reymond, Haeckel wanted to see it integrated in school lessons. In addition, he drew up a detailed embryological argument for the theory of ...evolution. Haeckel's groundbreaking Kunstformen der Natur bridged art and science. Equal partners in science, illustration and love with his first wife during the early period when Ernst connections to Darwins work were cemented. He he earned widespread accolades for this work, before his first wife unexpectedly died just 2 years after they married following a brief illness. After publicly dedicating this period of work to her memory, Haeckel expressed a lack of willingness to continue with his scientific career. Urged on by colleagues who reminded him she would very much have wanted him to push on, he continued his work and married a second time soon thereafter. Haeckel remained a strong supporter for the equal rights of women in all aspects of science and life.

Together they conduct a phenomenal array of scientific programs and activity focused on a wide range of planetary and atmospheric ...research, observation, data collection, analyses and peer reviewed publication across disciplines from climate change to agricultural impacts on conservation and land management, to industry pollution and urbanisation monitoring, to detailed species habitat and behaviour, and many subjects beyond. Together, their work is responsible for the maintenance of strong scientific bases for changes to global inter-governmental efforts to forge agreements focused on improving humankind’s ability to seek to live in balance with this planet that is our home, regulation of countless industries with transnational corporations at the helm, and promote issues of concern to all people’s everywhere, regardless of nationality, race, political affiliation or religion. In doing this vital work they recognise the beauty that cannot be separated from ourselves and the world around us and it is in that spirit that they produce the Earth As Art series, all of which is released freely without restriction into the public domain, a tiny part of the largest repository of scientific data ever produced and available to any human being on the planet. Every politician should be forced to study their work, as doing so would make denial of climate change, and ignorance of placing the interdependence of all living creatures and the environment at the heart of all policy development completely impossible.
