24.01.2022 As I start back training leaders in communication and coaching skills this week after the holiday break and as I start back working with my own coaching clients..., this question comes up time and time again. What coaching model works best? Sigh There are many great coaching models out there but if we get too fixated on following a model to a T, it can restrict and even destroy a powerful and effective coaching experience for our clients. 'Sadly, many practitioners embarking on their careers believe that a coaching model is representative of what happens, or will happen, in the coaching conversation. They therefore do not move outside of this structure. It could be that here lies the danger. 14.01.2022 It's been super getting back into the training room face to face. Although I must admit I have also been enjoying being able to reach a wider audience going virtual and producing and offering self-paced on-line courses. And I did enjoy spending more time at home in my COVID wardrobe. (Think yoga pants and Ugg boot slippers with the occasional fancy top and jacket for coaching and meeting days on-line) Are you missing anything from lockdown? August and September though were filled with Team Development, Women in Leadership immersions, communication skills, business and executive coaching and of course presenting skills. October is looking like fun too.

Every group I work with have their own challenges, goals and wonderful stories to share. They all want to make an IMPACT and that's why I enjoy working with them. 13.01.2022 Humour is almost a must in most presentations are usually designed to offend somebody, somehow, somewhere. And you don't know your audience as well as you think you do. Don't take a risk of getting the audience offside in those first few moments, especially in a business presentation. It could cost you dearly. 11.01.2022 Just because you're an expert doesn't mean you have to share everything you know in a single presentation. In fact, if you try you are not being of any service to your audience. You will overwhelm them and they leave with nothing but a headache. Yes prepare well but only deliver what is relevant for this audience.

09.01.2022 Don't listen to a public speaking coach! If you feel you are losing who you are. You never want to be the cookie cutter version of your coach or the people who you are being trained with.... Authenticity and connection is essential when delivering a powerful presentation.
