The winner will also have the name of the storied migrant permanently inscribed on the Museum’s Welcome Wall. Located on the Museum’s waterfront at Darling Harbour in Sydney, the Welcome Wall currently features approximately 30,000 names, including 87 from Finland. It is the last permanent memorial in Australia and stands in honour of those who have travelled across the seas to make a new home in Australia.
