25.01.2022 Today 288 had a very timely hazmat call in the early hours of the morning to a ruptured fuel tank on a semi trailer with potential spil of 350 litres of diesel the leak was stopped and the area rendered safe. This was followed up tonight with our practical hazmat drill with the assistance of the Evans head surf club, deconomation area was set up chemicals were identified and contained using correct protective equipment and breathing apparatus

21.01.2022 This morning wad an early start for 288 just before 5am we were called to a diesel spill on the Pacific highway at woodburn with the local RFS unit . Upon arrival we found approximately 350 litres of diesel leaking across the Carpark and into a creek .The creek was boomed as a first priority and then the spill was bunded did the the local council providing several loads of sand. The highway was cleaned with absorbent material approximately 3km to where the spill started and once the truck was removed the area was handed over to the council

14.01.2022 Yesterday we were responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Pacific highway just north of New Italythe accident involved a truck and car approximately 5km from the accident which had closed the south bound lane we met the banked up traffic , with wire railing separating the north and south bound lanes it was great to see the whole way kind and considerate motorists had pulled off the road to allow access for emergency vehicles thank you public. On scene all persons were safe and the area was cleaned up in a joint effort between woodburn rfs and frnsw
